Original Video: • Madness - Embarrassmen...
#wolfpackreaction #madness Развлечения
This one is about the Saxophonist’s (Lee Thompson) teenage sister who got pregnant by a black bloke, and how his family reacted to it.
Whoah, I never knew that. I wouldn't write a song saying my family's racist 😳
There is a video of him speaking to his sister and to the child concerned :) It's really good, the family loved her from the day she was born.
@@kevinchester0533 That's good to hear, I never heard of any of this before

@@nutty784 excellent link, thanks
'Night Boat To Cairo' has some silly Madness dancing !
def want to get to this song. promise we will do this one :)
and don't forget ONE STEP BEYOND !!!!!!!
@@diogenesagogo I wont =) def will give these 2 soon a listen.
Yes, those two = peak madness
Def Night Boat and One Step Beyond, Mark, but The Prince is still my favourite Madness song.
Part of my childhood and youth, so many hits, such a feel good type of music, enjoy bud, the back cataloue is huge lol.
You have to react to more Madness, they were my favourite band growing up,still are.Indeed look into the whole Two Tone movement, you won't be disappointed
Great song about a white girl getting pregnant by a black guy and how it wasnt excepted back in the day , people think madness are just fun music but a lot are very close to home and about life like cardiac arrest
I never knew that. Great bit of info 👍
@@joannedwyer3595 Not just a random/fictional girl either, but a relative of the sax player.
This was a proper serious track and the story involved a member of the band's relatives and a relationship that caused issues within the family.
Nice reaction btw x
It's a bit more than that isn't it? It's about the mixed-race child she had and the reaction to that.
Love these madness reviews wolfman👏👏reminds me of being a kid, thanks mate keep 'em coming buddy 👍👍✌️🇬🇧✌️🇺🇸🍻🍻
The guy always swinging about playing the sax is called Lee Jay Thompson ✌️🇬🇧✌️🇺🇸🍻🍻
Song was written about his sister i believe.
This song was the inspiration for Town Called Malice by The Jam. If you want a more dancey song from Madness check out Shut Up, a lot of fun.
Love this one ! Enjoyed your reaction 🕴🏽🕴🏽
I was 16 when this came out , i still go and see them when thay are on tour
One of my favourite songs by madness just a fantastic band all together
jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the man
This was my first single :) I still love it, though the message is sad, even sadder that it's still somewhat relevant even now...
Me too :) This was the first single I ever bought but not as relevant as it was as mixed-race babies aren't uncommon or particularly contentious (for most people).
Great reaction again my friend. If you want a Sax dominated song then it has to be One Step Beyond it's an instrumental and grrrrrreat. Ballad style then it has to be It must Be Love
Or, Papas got a brand new Pigbag from Pigbag. Definitely a gratuitous sax dance track
Another banger from Camden's Nutty Boys! ......... 👍
I'll echo shouts for My Girl and Nightboat To Cairo. Another of my lesser celebrated faves is The Sun And The Rain. For a more modern song, check out Misery. (I saw Madness live in Liverpool. One of the best nights of my life).
I was lucky to see them play in Bournemouth in 83 or 84. It's that ska, reggae London pub sound. Love it
Great foot tapper and another brilliant video
This song becomes more poignant when you find out what it was actually written about, this is actually in my all time top ten records
nice one Kid, my fav madness
Madness have sited Maxine Nightingale’s ‘Right Back where we started from’ as the inspiration for this song. The piano intro also has an uncanny resemblance to Cold as Ice by Foreigner as well. Embarrassment is an absolute stone cold classic, how it only got to number 4 in the U.K. and not number 1 will always remain a mystery.
Thank god someone did this one. Excellent song.
The first shot is in front of the now HSBC (then Midland) Bank outside Camden Tube Station.
This is the first record I ever bought :) It's about the saxophonists sister who had a mixed-race/bi-racial baby and the reaction it caused. A big deal in 1980 but not so much now, fortunately.
If you like watching them dancing 'Night Boat to Cairo' is a good one to watch if you've not already seen it. If you like to hear his voice range more, watch 'It Must Be Love'.
Listen to Driving in my Car By Madness because it has references to Fender and Gas in the songs lyrics...
Brilliant. Your comments are really good an reactions 👍
Thank you so much 😁
Embarrassing moment? How about the time I saw my uncle in tesco shopping, I crept up behind him, reached out and started tickling his ribs, while at the same time saying in his ear in a creepy voice ' *hey you* '...........it wasn't my uncle, it was a stranger 🤦🏼♀️🙇🏼♀️
Edit - that's not my worst.....but it's all I'm admitting to on here 😂
hahaha kazza i totally can you doing this! probably why i call u dork so many times hahahahah. imagine after u tickled they farted LOL
@@bxkid7 I honestly do shit like this more than I care to admit 🤣 .....I don't know what woulda happened if the guy farted, he'd probably have ended up as embarrassed as me, as it was, he just looked at me kinda shocked and bemused as I went beetroot red stuttering my apology 😂
My name is Karen.....and I'm a dork ✋🏻
First band or music I ever heard! House of Fun was the first 7” I bought, prob 10 years old when it came out, and have seen them 20 times or more since, a British institution, like pissing the bed and getting thrown out of a pub😘
Let’s do rock steady by The Bodysnatchers.
My Girl - Madness, please check this one out! it's a great song and certainly something I can relate to.
Should check out Swan Lake by Madness. Yes. The classical piece of music / ballet done out Ska style.
*Best of Lunar C - Don't Flop Rap Battles*
*Lunar C - Chicken*
*Lunar C - Fire in the Booth Part 3*
You should check out their Labi Siffre cover "It must be love"
Excellent
I just realized the singer looks a little like Biff Tannent from back to the future 😅
Another vote for Night Boat To Cairo please
This song is about the true story of the saxophonist's sister who got pregnant at 17 years old by a black man in the 80's. And the family was upset about the matter, she has decided the keep the baby, he wrote the lyrics, that is why it is call an embarrassment. Very sad story. but it all ended well. The saxophonist has a lovely niece who told the story. He wishes that at the time he would have chosen the right word about this song. He even says that it was harch at the time he wrote this song.
IIRC the main reason he regrets it is that people misunderstood the lyrics. It was a condemnation of the racist attitudes that lead to those types of reactions, but people didnt expect such subtle lyrics from Madness. But IMO its one of their best songs.
Do My Girl - one of their best
It Must Be Love....it must be next ;)
I always liked this one.
You should react to An Idiot Abroad
I see you're a bit of a Ska fan, it's popular here in the UK even to this day.
damn right, even at 45 i'm still a nutty boy!
dont worry ive heard that last line many of times before!! lol
As with regards to most embarrassing moment? got to many to mention lol
give us one LUL
@@bxkid7 1 pops in to my mind at this time, but its to rude for youtube --- xxx catch my drift!!
@@roosterb78 lameo! :P
@@bxkid7 shurrup! i dont mind saying in private but on here? no! :-P
@@bxkid7 remember going to blackpool on a day trip with a bus full of people, crowd of us ended up in blackpool tower. i was like 18 at the time, i got up to go to the toilet, and was heading in the direction of the toilet. Noticed a person with long hair going in same direction, thought it was another woman,, followed her. went into to the toilet at the back of her, till she turned around, and realized it was actually a bloke, and i ended up in the gents toilets when i looked up, and seen a crowd of guys in front of me taking a piss, and when i turned around to walk out, there was another crowd behind me waiting to get in!!
Please make a child of the 70s happy, react to madness one step beyond
Most definitely will I got you trudie =)
Totally agree as well as 'Night boat to Cairo'
@@northernvoice7288 and then some selector
@@trudiebrown4284 On my radio perhaps, Takes me back when I used to have a skinhead and wear 14 hole Doc martins haha
@@northernvoice7288 14 holers where a nightmare to take off 😂
For music videos request The London Boys - Harlem Desire
Embarrasing moment... seated dive off a boat in Thailand. Got cought on the side of boat. Result was me dangling from the boat by my swim gear, and my mates husband had to help me free... beat that lol
holy crap trudie! insane no way im topping this lol
Did you catch the embarrassing spelling right at the start.
Great tune, though the video was a little bit more toned down.....
My most embarrassing moment was at the age of 14 and lives on to this day.... Parents waited until I was asleep, crept into my room, shoved a teddy under my arm (so it looked like I was cuddling it). Then they took the picture..... It was always the threat to bring it out whenever I would get too big for my boots....
That’s the cleanest embarrassing thing I can divulge..... for the rest, all I can say is thank goodness there were no camera phones when I was growing up...
Thanks for the chooooon, Kid!!
You legend for sharing. Yeah I did peep the misspelling but I cant say anything as early today I have my thumbnail as dear Green place for this video instead of it saying madness so I cant say jack hahah
Nightboat to Cairo please
Still Madness, but a real change of pace would be Michael Caine (with added Michael Caine 👍)
please react to Sheila- Spacer
Apex Two-Tone.
Please react to Shut up
A bit of a sad song for Madness really..it's about the reaction of one of the band member's family to his sister getting pregnant to a black lad.
Yeah kix the sax player about Hayley his niece
@@ianblack7006 The meaning adds a lot to the song. More melancholy.
Have you tried any Ian Dury? Full of scurrilous wit. New Boots And Panties is a masterpiece.
tell us a song to react to so we know where to start!
@@bxkid7 What a waste' you can't do much better than that
@@northernvoice7288BEAUtiful thank you!
@@bxkid7 Any of the tracks. Billericay Dickie is one of my favourites but they're all good. How about the first track? Wake Up & Make Love With Me ruclips.net/video/c-VeOakGGPQ/видео.html&ab_channel=declique
@@bxkid7 Hit me with your rhythm stick is another great song by Ian Dury and Baggy Trousers by Madness.
I'd love you to react to an awesome show called "The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer" Its comedy genius:)
Seconded. My favourite show of the nineties and it still makes me grin like an idiot.
perhaps their most poignant song.
Once you engage with what this song is actually about you'll react differently. This isn't a happy song nor is it about your most dumb embarrassing memory. Its about being disowned by your family for having a mixed race child.
