I remember when this movie came out in theaters. Our movie theater chain made a big deal about how this movie was going in Dolby Stereo, along with the Duran Duran song. What a treat for the ears.
The only no. 1 James Bond theme ever! Congrats Duran Duran, and now in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Well deserved, for an underrated band from the new romantic era. They do rock!!!
This and The Living Daylights are equal.....I cannot choose a favourite.

Under-rated? Hardly. 5 top-twenty hits from 3 separate albums in 1 year. Everybody who wasn't cut off from civilization knew who they were in 1983-1985. So big, so fast, 2 members quit due to exhaustion.
They are still rocking out after 40 years and sound just as good a when they first started. A-Ha is the same after all these years too.

He was MY 007 when i was going to school.
I was way too young at the time to understand almost any of this movie, but definitely remember being terrified by that scene where the stairs on the blimp fold up and drop the guy into the ocean. My mom still tells stories of how I was afraid of escalators after that.

I remember my friend and I who were total Duran Duran fans,freaking out and singing along to the song,having people tell us to shut up!To this day I still love Duran Duran,althougj I prefer their earlier stuff to their most recent stuff.

It has received a bad rap due to Moores age but I am a big fan of Sir Roger and this was the first James Bond film that I saw so it is one that I will happily watch again and again

Love the song but in my opinion Moore was too old for Bond in 1984, they should have went ahead and replaced him with Timothy Dalton at this point.

@@dandan3521 I'm not a fan of Daniel Craig as Bond or any of the new characters (or old like Dench) in the new movies. I loved Moore's Bond in the 70s, but I felt like we just didn't get enough of Dalton's Bond. It's hard to choose a favorite but I liked every Bond before Daniel Craig and every Bond movie before Die Another Day. Brosnan was already too old in that one and it just wasn't a good movie to me.

Grace Jones is definitely among the most memorable female characters. She was pretty athletic back in the day, and formidable too. She doesn't get my vote for best looking Bond girl, but she is easily one of the most fleshed out.

Nah your all wrong effectively bond is the coldest character in the series he has to be and trevelyan is basically bond but not bond he doesn’t fight for Britain he fights for himself I would say all the Brosnan villains except the general and Gustavo graves from die another day were the coldest bond villains
Sir Roger Moore's final 007 movie, was, by his own admission, wasn't as good as it could've been. He felt a lack of chemistry between James Bond & Stacy Sutton (Tanya Roberts). And he was repelled by the violent dispatch of Zorin's men in the mine. On the plus side, the pre credit opening was one of the better ones, and we saw Patrick Macnee (John Steed of the Avengers fame) as 007's partner.

Roger did actually not get on with tanya on set which prob did not help with there chemistry. Also there was quite a big age difference. He also did not get on with grace jones.
Personally, i liked the killing in the mines, because it sells Zorin as a sociopath.

Lol I dont see the big problem tho with age gap it's not like she was a teenager, I think she was about 30. and roger was about 57so not that old. I think he still looked great and was handsome ( I'm not gay lol)

Exactly! I also do editing and hardly no one ever makes a comment about the editing. It's always the song, the artist, the movie or the actor. Quite hard to make a montage that fits with a good rhythm.
