@@jwill5892 I mean, he broke Eddie's camera. Incredible detail at 1:34 that went over everyone's head is when Venom reacts negatively to the sound when Sandman hammer fist Peter on the steel beam. Sam Raimi had an incredible attention to detail towards that specific character's weakness and showed it in a very subtle way.

The only thing that bothered me in the writing of this scene was the fact that the media were just concerned about it being the end of spider man instead of worrying that the big ass sandman and some psycho spider man like villan (venom) might destroy the entire city or state or country next lol
brooo you know what i just remembered? How green goblin in spiderman 1 talked about how the media and people will look forward to peters downfall as the hero. This scene literally proves osborn to be right.(the scene was when goblin tried to convince peter to join him.)
The team-up between Peter and Harry here is so earned (unlike something like Bruce and Clark in Batman V Superman). The trilogy is grounded by the dynamic between these 3 friends, and their development is what makes this moment so special. There was proper buildup with actual substance.
I never thought for a second that when I first saw Spider-man 1 back in 2002 these two would be fighting Venom and Sandman together like this it’s kind of insane how much changed since they were in school 😂
@@droppedinbase5777 Of course... Like MoS... That's my point here. A trilogy of a character (a three parts of solo movies) is always better than a two superheroes confrontation solo movie. It's the numbers, the developing and the familiarity of the viewers That has been growing over time.
You can call it a trash movie but there's no denying that this battle was epic. And this is one of the movies that paved the way for the superhero movies we have today
Several things that I noticed when re-watching this scene: - Harry immediately went to face Sandman. Even though he's in a better position than Spiderman at the beginning, he still committed to facing Sandman because out of the two, his advanced weaponry and free flight gives him the required firepower and mobility to take down a massive foe, something that Spiderman cannot accomplish easily. You can see that Spiderman really struggled to deal with the massive Sandman here. - Peter's Spider sense doesn't warn him about Venom, and he gets ambushed by Venom because of that. This is explained in the comic, as because the Venom symbiote has been bound to Spiderman for so long, the spider sense no longer perceive it as a threat. - Even though I tend to criticize Mary Jane's uselessness in the trilogy, she was actually better in this scene. She did look at Peter, and still screamed a lot in this scene, but unlike the first two movie, not once did she cry for help. She even tried to assert the situation and seemed like she decided to try to survive on her own this time even though we know that she's really powerless here, knowing full well that Spiderman is struggling to keep his own life, let alone saving her. Compare this to the first movie, when Peter was being brutally pinned and beaten by the Green Goblin, she still cried for help.
@@reecey1504 still doesn't change the fact that This MJ is really trash even though tobey Maguire is my fav spiderman, the mcu MJ was much better She tried to help pete despite the fact that its extremely dangerous and she can lose her life Unlike this one, she was loyal and faithful to him and didnt leave him when the world called him a criminal That MJ truly loved peter Parker not spiderman
Love how smart of a fighter Harry is here, from tackling the giant sandman with bombs, to simply shattering his arm after melting it into glass. Peter may have the experience, but Harry's a genius brawler on his own too. I doubt we'll get him in NWH, but I hope he gets a reference- or perhaps Peter hung on to one of those sick swords.
3:26, 4:34, 4:56 I love the teamwork that Peter and Harry do helping each other in battle 7:50, 7:59, 8:02 Harry's sacrifice tears me apart a lot, that's true friendship.. And more breaks me at seeing in Spiderman: No way home, when Peter said he had a best friend and he died in his arms and and it breaks his soul to remember that 6:18Venom does give a feeling of fear and terror, because Peter's spider-sense doesn't even detect it
Go to kill with him so I think he wants to kill him so fat and wants to it and Santa has a G-Shock him and then a girlfriend hair dye from the broncos cuz the deal with poisoner and the poison
What if? Just like Andrew got the opportunity to save MJ’s life redeeming himself for not being able to save his love’s life. Tobey got the chance to save Ned as he couldn’t save his best friend before.
Dude, the action, the dialogue, the choreography in that final battle where Pete and Harry team up is perfection. I love their quick comments to one another as MJ plummets to her death.
A couple of things I noticed watching this scene again: 1. It's pretty awesome that Harry came to save Peter despite all their differences. 2. Goblins really need to stop putting spikes on their gliders lol.
@@sezraces4062 for 2008, this was the best venom they could do. If they had our present level CGI....Raimi's trilogy would be more epic. But gotta admit...Sandman, Green Goblin's flying and his son Harry flying had great CGI
I think that with this movie you can actually see the difference between a great director like Sam Raimi and not a great director; this movie may not be the best one of the whole trilogy, it has several defects, but it's very good to watch anyway and that's because even when Raimi knew that this movie wasn't going to be as good as the pasts two, he still managed to create a decent product. This scene is great! It brings lot of nostalgia to me.
Does anyone not find 1:05 a really heroic scene? I remember watching as a kid back in 2007 and it felt like his last final push to save MJ against all odds before Venom and Sandman would catch up to him... Really glad Sam Raimi managed to squeeze in even just 3-5 seconds of epic and inspirational scenes in his Spiderman movies!
What no other Spider-Man movie director can seem to replicate. Every time Spider-Man had a heroic moment on screen in the Raimi trilogy, it truly gave you the idea and feeling of what it’s like to be a hero.
@@lifetechtv3035even 16 years later as an adult, these movies still hold a high place in my cinematic opinion and the opinion of the consensus because of shots like these and a simple yet complex plot. Sam Raimi really made magic with these movies.
It's compelling to see Toby Maguire's portrayal of Peter Parker. His care for this other men who tried to harm him. Even after Eddie tried to kill him, he still cares, and tries to warn Eddie about the suit. This is good writing, good character development - the hero learns from his mistakes and uses that lesson to do better the next time.
Harry died just like his father, but for a totally different reason. Instead of trying to kill peter, he risked his life to save him. Showing the full transformation of his arc.
Sad thing is Harry really didn’t need to Spider-Man has healing abilities so he would’ve survived Harry can’t heal I know it’s nostalgic but Spider-Man should’ve took the stab here
Knowing how rejected and lonely the symbiote feels after Peter leaves it, the way Eddie jumps into the bomb to his death just for a single moment more bonded with it must have been such a touching act to the symbiote. It reaches out and wraps around him instead of forming close together to stay alive trying as hard as it can just to save him
This version of the symbiote was more comparable to an animal than in the 2018 version. In the novelization, it gets to the point where it uses Brock like a meat puppet and talks to Peter, and Peter wonders if he was ever fighting Brock at all. It takes Eddie's flesh and has his hands and legs sticking out of it as it swells in size before trying to reattach to Peter again.
One of venom's weakness is fire. Thats why it just gone after the explosion. And for Eddie, He just a normal human without venom unlike Harry who turned himself to super human in the beginning of this movie.
I thought this as well!! Everyone talks about Tobey and Andrew but I'd love to see Franco again. Unfortunately, I think it's confirmed that he won't be in it
2:55 This is how Tobey should enter No Way Home in terms of the music. That build up, leading up to seeing his face on beat with the music is perfection!
@@twenty1sixer216 let me rephrase. In comparison to 1 and 2 only, 3 was clearly not as good. That’s what I mean by flop. Not box office numbers (in fact, box office numbers don’t even matter when it comes to quality of the movie).
Yes, Venom was a total badass here, menacing, with his beastly screams part of the charm. Late entry, such a short screen time, and Eddie Brock ruined the rest
Say what you want about this film but the fact Harry died jumping in front of the glider that his dad died trying to kill Spider-Man with just brings the trilogy full circle
1:01 Does anyone feel chills when the music sounds like it's creeping up like a bunch of spiders, then you hear the theme play, hearing Tobey's grunts, and seeing the camera shot zoom as he pulls hard to go up in a cool pose going up?
If you start at 0:50, you'll notice how Spiderman uses Sandman's kick to gain momentum off of the flipping car to get to Mary Jane faster. That's some crazy fight IQ.
I love the little whimper the symbiote lets out after Peter hits the beams at 9:13, makes it feel even more like a living, breathing, feeling creature than a suit that breathes
This whole scene is legendary. Makes you so happy seeing them team up and do good then good gets bad and bad gets better. Probably have watched this move over 100 times and it’s still a masterpiece to me… Toby will always be a great.
No matter what critics say.. the RaimiVerse is the Greatest Spiderman Trilogy ever made. It would have been better if James Franco did a cameo in No Way Home 👍👍👍
Spiderman with Tobey Meguer is always interesting to watch. Apart from being nostalgic, it also makes me realize that Spiderman and Tobey Meguier are really the best from other spiderman movies
I love that they highlight the advancement of Harry's character, being a guy with parental conflicts and with a fortune as great as his loneliness, falling into a phase of evil caused by his pain, but in the end he understood that he must let go of the shadow of his father and helping his only two friends when they needed it most, even giving his life without hesitation as payment for his mistake and proof of his change. Harry Osborn💙
After everything the two went through together from being best friends then enemies and then best friends again and now fighting together. I just couldn't help but smile when Harry said "Go buddy!" They truly had each other's back.

After nearly 15 years since the movie came out, I just realised that Harry heated Sandman's hand so much that it became ACTUAL GLASS (which he later shatters). That's AMAZING!

I guess Harry was also a scientist himself.
@@mo_munir3474 I mean most people who would have been kids at this time, probably were not aware of how sand can be turned into glass, I know when I watched it when I was 7 in the theater, poor eyesight made me think that it was just hardened chunks like if you had baked sand into a shape and then broke said shape. Obviously 14 years later that's a lot different. But it is still a spectacle all its own no matter what age you watch this movie at

Several things that I noticed when re-watching this scene:
- Harry immediately went to face Sandman.
