First surf video I’ve seen where the footage of people getting caught inside is the scariest part. “Making” these waves looks like it was rewarded with the hammering of a lifetime. Deep respect.
Being sucked over the falls was no joke either. Plus it was complemented with the pounding of a lifetime right after.

After the two Brazzo's beat up a girl here in Bali(IN THE SURF) I find it challenging to hear Brazzo's voices. Make sure you welcome the two Bazilian surfers back to Bazil the right way. They have been deported from Bali.

I cannot think of any other wave like this place. Massive waves on a beach break but pretty much has a consistent peak area. The inside is a close out 98% of the time.
And the percentage of even making it to the inside is 50% at best.
Full respect to all the riders and guys that went for it.

Must have been all time down there!! I was going to go down there then when I saw my old friend Garrett McNamara on my flight to Puerto from Mexico City I knew something special was going down at Zicatela.
first trip was about 1980 ( the old airport ) the only place to stay really was Carmelita's the guys charging hardest were cats like Slade , Bomber Bill ( Weir ) Ron Briggs and some guys from the east coast these are some of the hardcore legends of puerto ,, big boards no leashes and the point was a million miles away ,, amazing times

What about that dude with the red board at the beginning when he"s trying to get over that wave and just gets taken by the lip back over the falls, i dont even see him come up and he"s got to ware the next one on the head as well thats just as BIG,, and the same thing happens to another guy on that wave, I am just realising one thing right now after listening to the guys talk at the end that being sand and so shallow one thing good is that you can use your legs to kick off the sand to get you to the surface . I notice not everyone is waring floatation vests . Absolutely nuts video,, Glad everyone survived .

Surfing Puerto on a small day is scary. many crazy rip currents, if you get caught in the wrong place it’s frightening where you can’t get out of the impact zone. I can’t imagine on a big day, or losing your board. These XXL wave riders are a different breed.

Puerto Escondido isn't just a big can of whoop-ass, it's an unlimited supply of 55 gallon drums of the purest, uncut, undiluted whoop-ass. Plenty enough to go around for everyone to get more than their fair share.

i swear i surfed this joint the best i've ever seen it. way better quality waves than this. when it gets too big it looks like it does an outter reef kinda thing. i had it at the max before it starts doing that. it was still real big but top to bottom tubes. i take some of that back after watching more, some of these are top to bottom, but far from perfect. mine was maybe 2/3 this big but absolutely flawless

Wave selection here is a coin toss as the waves are almost impossible to read. It's a sand bottom beach break and the volume of backwash coming back into the peaking swells is random. What appears to be a clean, makable shoulder turns into a long collapsing wall. And Wabasso Florida Surfer "Bad" Brad Domke successfully rode a wave as big as these at Puerto on a fkn SKIMBOARD. 😳🤦🏼♂️
