The English have no idea about Bale and Madrid. No idea. In terms of ability and production, Bale was one of the best ever in his position at Madrid. Madrid fans all know that and do appreciate him. About the booing? Everyone gets it we have higher standards and in Spain, the culture is different to England. Ronaldo got booed/ Zidane got booed. Bale's problem was that he started getting injured too frequently and when he came back from the injury he would be very very underwhelming and it kept repeating to the stage where Zidane the manager and the board later on decided he was not the one to rely on for the future and that we need transitioning. Bale's introverted personality definitely didn't help since he couldn't really speak Spanish well after 5-6 years of being there. Go watch an interview with ramos marcelo and few others with bale, he speaks English to them. Literally looks like a kid whos learnt Spanish for 1 month maybe even 1 week. Emery was ridiculed in England and became a meme because of his accent. Lets not forget that in England if you don't speak the language people don't respect you. The Spanish media can be toxic but England is just the same if not worse. Emery actually wasn't that bad in terms of what he did in arsenal and the media's depiction of him had a lot to play in him being sacked. The Madrid board didn't create rumours or news to force Bale out lol simply not true. only the english who never watch La liga would say that. Does not mean Bale is not a legend at Madrid, he rlly is - but we wanted him out because of his 600k wages and we wanted to rebuild , bale didn't wanna go cuz he likes spain/ no one gonna pay as much/ also he thinks of himself very highly he wouldn't go to a mid table or even top 4 club in a league. He knows he's topped all of them by far. He just wants to continue playing in LA get paid a bunch and maybe do more world cups. He's achieved so much and he knows he wont again with another club. He just had a early retirement, not comparable to Lingard. Different bread of players

Bale was an arrogant, disrespectful ungrateful sod towards everything about Madrid. The people, the club, his teammates. Victimised. What tosh. He couldn't be arsed. Ronaldo dented his ego and his agent resented Ronaldo too. Didn't step up to the plate after Ronaldo departure. Once he won CL in 2018, he put his feet up, took the piss and played golf, which allowed him to turn up in some sort of decent condition to drag Wales through play offs. Stole a living for 4 years. That's why Madrid fans can't stand him. UK media again syncophancy for one of their own and xenophobia towards foreign clubs.

Until about 5 years ago MLS has this fake it till you make it attitude and tried to pretend they were what they clearly aren’t a top 5 league in the world and that’s where a lot of criticism (justifiably imo) came/comes from. Now they’ve realized they need to become a selling league and can be a bridge for young players from across the world to places like England and Germany. Developing a few players at DC United and selling them on is good for Wayne’s resume as a coach.

Gareth Bale stats in the seasons RM won CL:
    6 goals 4 assists 12 games
    0 goals 3 assists 8 games
    2 goals 2 assists 8 games
    3 goals 2 assists 7 games
    0 goals 0 assists 2 games
Total 16 goals, 14 assists in 57 matches over 8 seasons. Lets admit that after the 1st season, he was just plain lucky to be carried by that squad.

"designated players", lol. The fact you had to state that certain players earnt that much means most don't, so what was your point? For good or bad you have a salary cap and very few players make the 6 million a year, which is a bit less than the 30 million he was making in Spain.

There’s a completely difference between bale and him. Bale is already over 30, he’s won everything he could as a player, he’s even taken Wales to semifinals in tournament and no took them to a World Cup, he does not have much to prove to anyone. In other hand Lingard has not proven anything, he was an overrated player that again English media made him but now that he’s older and has not done anything these same people are acting like they knew he wasn’t going to do anything. Also idk why people Europeans make it seem like MLS is easy and that if you go there you’ll be a star, how many time have Europeans that came say that it was harder than they thought it would be to get comfortable in the league?

Lingard is just another example of a young player in the PL who got fame and money too early. When you start making crazy money that you haven't truly earned, then you naturally start to down tools. United are constantly overpaying players who have no right to earn those wages, and then wonder why said players plateau and peter out. United are not alone in this, ofc, but they are a good example.

As a side note, Jordan needs to stop peddling the myth that he walked away from "50 Million quid" at Palace. Jordan and his brother Dominic ran the club into the ground to the tune of £30 million in debt, and an unpaid tax bill of £1.4 million. The creditors we're brought in and we faced extinction. He's never apologised for his part in that, and has never fully recognised what Parish and the 2010 consortium have done for Palace. The man lives up his own tanned backside.

If lingard goes to DC he will be an amazing success and very quickly become rich beyond his dreams if he's a success, the sponsorship deals he could get in America are mind blowing!... The lifestyle would also be fantastic..... Why should he be attacked for making a decision that could change his life forever?
