Have you ever left a review for something? If it's your honest opinion, then good or bad that's a fair review and it will serve to tell others about your experience with the product/service, and maybe a little something about the company that provided it. Maybe the company will sue you over that review, but that tells others something else about the company as well. It's usually a defence against defamation if you state an honest, factual opinion, although that can vary by jurisdiction.

Before I make a comment, just want to say, time served engineer here. Spent many many hours using a vapour blaster, all ours had a tap on the back so you could do samples. Now as we were Rolls Royce aerospace we sampling intervals which had to be recorded. We found the best percentage of media to water was 18-20 media to the water. That gave the best results. You could have a tap fitted and just get a plastic measuring tube which we used. The media settles out and we looked for 18-20% .
My major gripe, I see you machining with no safety glasses. I nearly lost my sight in one eye due to not wearing them and a friend did lose an eye. Please use safety glasses when machining. If one of your guys loses an eye, your probably bankrupt.

I get very wary of the term Engineer being bandied around. Some are just the old machine archived, just in case. After 30 years of use, you owe that piece of equipment money, not the other way around. Old stuff, whilst we love it, suffers from reliability issues. You could have bought a new unit for what this one has cost financially, and the damage to your business reputation locally, could vastly exceed your monetary losses. We are only as good as our last job. Not only is your customer being inconvenienced, so is their customer, and I bet that the blame is being laid squarely on you. May I suggest to you that you start to invest in some replacement equipment in order to prevent issues like this from reoccurring. Regards Greg

Yes, you have had s_itty service from that company. I would give them 2 weeks to rectify the situation by either repairing the busted cutter or refunding you your money. Only then I would I consider whether or not I would want to shame them. But before you do, there are 2 questions you need to ask yourself: "Will naming and shaming get you your money back or improved service?" "What are the possible legal consequences to me if I name and shame?". You might want to talk with your solicitor before letting fly with both barrels.

As they've given you your money back and the fact that it was costing you a couple of thousand to have it repaired I would order a new one for the four thousand you've been quoted and get on with the backlog of work that's built up. If you do get the other one back fully restored and working properly you can negotiate a hugely discounted price for the inconvenience and have a spare so work wouldn't be held up in the future. Expensive exercise but a lot of happier customers.

TLDR: IMO you should have gotten a new one right after you saw the bill or after the week went buy and the shitty customer service from them you would have made your money back by now hell of they got it to you in 2 weeks then you could of have 2 heads going at 1 time for the last 4 weeks when your all backed up like you are.
Honestly I feel like you should have just gotten a new one after the old one wasn’t fixed within the week and then Figured something out between them and you. You said the seat cutter brings 400-500 a day sometimes so let’s average that at 200 a day x 5 days a week x 4.5 (number of extra weeks you waited) = 4,500. It would have paid for itself by time of this video hell if it brings in close to what you say it does daily then it would have paid for the other head to get fixed (if we pretend they sent it back to you fixed instead of broken after 6 weeks). To me it seems kind of moronic to not have a back up machine or at least know of a place that properly fixes them for a machine that is so important/profitable.
Yes they messed up huge but so did you imo...I mean there were so many red flags even before you gave them pictures of the manual. I mean they charged you 2200 (THATS HALF OF A NEW ONE) to fix the 30 year old ones problem... not upgrade it or anything just make that 1 feature work. After seeing that bill I would have went for a new one myself and they were hoping it was just the button because they would have made 2000 for swapping a switch in 10 min lmfao but when it was actually harder then swapping parts they shit the bed.

This was a fixed price repair, with fixed price repairs, sometims you get lucky and its just a switch and you are quids in ... sometimes you luck out and have to replace far, far more. Sending it back in worse condition than it left is unacceptable. I could forgive them if they returned it Week 1 with a "sorry, can't do it" note, but really, that shoudl have been day 1 or 2 of the process ... 5 1/2 weeks? You should research what new machines there are, and buy the best available . If, as you say, you make good money using it, plus the inconvenience when the old one goes wrong, I think that's the obvious choice. You would benefit from up to date technology, and sleep at nights. You spoke to the owner. You said he seemed like a nice guy and he was willing to have it back to have a look at it. Whether or not that was the desired result that you wanted, He was still trying to make amends to reach an amicable solution for both of you.
If you said you werent happy and his engineer had ruined the block and cost you hundreds of pounds in lost work and you would rather be done with it and have a new block from the manufacturer. I'm willing to believe that if you had asked him to stump up some cash to pay for the new block as compensation, he would have done it.
You have a right to be mad - Youre running a business, so is he and he has cost you thousands in lost revenue but throwing a live grenade at him when he's trying to reach a solution for both of you is counter productive and will affect how he will respond to you currently or in future should you ever require the need of his services.
Had he of been combative, didnt want to listen to you, didnt want to talk to you. Didnt want anything to do with you, arguing with you over the phone, emails etc etc constantly butting heads and avoiding having to pay out to compensate you then by all means, name and shame the business.
But the _"Im a big youtuber, I have thousands of views and subscribers"_ argument is very petty and doesnt at all reflect well on a business/business owner that claims to be *professional.*
Not having a personal dig at you. But I have worked frontline customer service jobs dealing with people from all levels and walks of life and the best way to deal with a problem that a customer (or problematic customer) may bring up to you is as calmly as possible....Even if the person on the other end is a bit of pr**k. You dont let yourself sink to their level.
You keep your dealings professional and it will reflect well on you and your business and you earn their respect even if they dont like the end result.... None of this _"but i have a youtube channel with thousands of subscribers and views"_ rubbish

They're not being honest. A more honest shop would have stated their concerns, reservations, and caveats when they came to look at the machine before EVER taking it.
The owner states that he has a better more competent tech that will look at it? Is he kidding?
Why didn't his best guy look at it already when they hit the first snag? Maybe their best guy already had hands on the machine.
