Hey everyone! It’s been brought to my attention I mispronounced a few names - it’s a long video, with a lot of names, I should’ve taken the time to do better on that. Will be much better in the future, thank you!
lol I was going to say the same think Bro it’s ok a lot of people said their names wrong when they played for us I’ve even heard people who identify as life long, die hard orioles fans say names wrong and to someone like me who truly does follow the birds it’s cringy but look markakis is pronounced like Mar- cake- is and even though it’s schoop and it looks like it might sound like shoe-p or shoop its actually pronounced just like the word scope Just for any possible future references
Could you have done… I don’t know.. the slightest bit of research before you tried pronouncing players names? Dan Duquette is pronounced “Doo-kett”. Nick Markakis is “Mahr-Kay-Kiss”. Johnathan Schoop is “Scope”. The list goes on but you get my point. In the future, reach out to long term fans of teams. They’ll give you invaluable insight into stuff like this.
We still can’t develop pitching.. Elias just traded 2 qualified position players for a dude who throws 88 mph but has “elite” extension. I hope we hire some better pitching scouts
That's not what he said. He said OUT of Japan. Because he was playing IN Japan when the Orioles picked him up. Didnt say a damn thing about his heritage.
Fans should not have despised Peter Angelos the way they did. He sided with the players in the players strike, tried to buy star players that never panned out (Albert Belle, anyone?) and realizing he couldnt compete on money, started the greatest farm system in baseball. The lack of winning is what made them hate them. I live near Baltimore, and I've heard it for years but looking back I dont agree with it. Now his sons, they sucked.
@@lugnutlarry1764 Acting like the Orioles aren’t a great baseball team is silly. Are they the best, or even close to it.. no. but they built a great team WITHOUT spending money.
No offense but you're going to lose subs with your terrible pronunciation of last names. FOUR of them & they were all well known. Nick Markakis and Jonothan Schoop were all-stars & and Dan Duquette was one of the highest regarded GMs in the 90s & early 2000s.
@@PurelyBaseballYT Well, if he meant to say "franchise record" he should have said "franchise record". When you say "record" that means "record", as in THE record - it's kinda how the language works. Between that and the names being butchered so badly, it seems this is someone sorely lacking any familiarity with baseball.
Dude spend 10 min and learn how to pronounce name correctly. I've never heard so many miss pronounced names in a video before. Its like you were trying to mess them up.

Still an awesome video bro. No worries! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
As a life long O’s fan your all good…..most of us should know who your talking about
On you graph at 18:19, you have the years flipped (2013 with 2014's losses and 2014 with 2013's losses)
It’s all good, I enjoyed Jonathan Shwoop
For what’s worth a couple of them made me laugh out loud. Great vid
It’s painful hearing him pronounce player names. And I listened to Gary Thorne call games here!
Yeah apologies. Will be improved as we go into the future 100 percent
I miss Gary Thorne.
Markakis and Schoop hurt my brain bro
@nicholasvetrano Duquette and Dean Kremer were cringe worthy as well.
lol I was going to say the same think

Would be nice to see them win a postseason game though
Just what I wanted to see today, thanks PB. Hope the O's get by the October hump in 2025!

Thanking u for making this video I've been an Orioles fan since I was little and damn our team sucked was for years in glad we're finally doing better
Good job ! Very Interresting ! Congrats.
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate it
it's already too late to extend Gunnar and Adley, they're gonna test free agency when their time comes
More than likely
We still can’t develop pitching.. Elias just traded 2 qualified position players for a dude who throws 88 mph but has “elite” extension. I hope we hire some better pitching scouts
There's an old saying, there's no such thing as a pitching prospect.
Great video bro
Thanks legend
Andy MacPhail was the start of progress. Obviously, he didn't do enough. But he planted a seed or two for the future.
awesome documentary my brother, lets go o's
@@beansauce9411 i really appreciate that man 🙏thanks for watching - it really means a lot
bad teams dont just disappear. they always end up coming back eventually. teams need to strive for more than just making the post season
You cooked w this one 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥
Props for the Pepe appearance😆
The legend himself 😂
Go O's! Good to see positive talk about them
@@MikeInTheWoods411 Absolutely! Gonna be a very interesting offseason.. i’m excited to see what happens.
Nice video
Appreciate that man!
Chen is Taiwanese, not Japanese…

My guy made a movie
😤🔥
Dan Duquette tried to resign JJ Hardy but the owners did not want to pay.
14:40 Freddie Freeman after hearing the name “Nestor Cortes”: 👀👀👀
Very true lol
Pretty sure Veritek was drafted by Seattle
Saw the title, clicked to comment. You’re not great until you win it all. Do better.

You have to be intentionally saying these names wrong. It hurts
Baltimore and Kansas City have changed and they will be around for a long time!
Kansas City’s turn around was AWESOME. Very glad to see it
O’S MENTIONED RAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHHH
who, exactly is calling the Os the best team in baseball? one great year in 2023 doesn’t make them the “best” team in baseball. come on, man!
@@yourbuddydom I don’t even say this to be rude but - did I call them the best team in baseball?
Jeff Luau wishes you'd pronounce his name LuhNOW like it's spelled. Nice video though.
Highlighting the Yastrzemski for Herb trade seems an odd choice
Yeah it was said more so just to get a point across
Lmao this guy never watch the Os during the 2010s
The Angel's need to follow
Someday………. some year….. Lol
❤
Legend.
Ik this isn’t the tigers video bc we are the best team.
😂🔥
"another team's strategy (astros logo)"
illegally enhanced sign stealing?
@@psymar lol. as mentioned though, Elias played 0 part in the scandal

Ok snowflake
Pronunciation is important
Exactly when did their 115 losses set the record? HINT: never.
I don’t believe I said THE record. I was referring to the franchise record - as 2018 with 115 losses is the most in their history.
