  • …but it definitely pushes the boundaries of scary!
One year ago, I performed a rhinoplasty, chin implant, buccal fat removal, and maximal submental liposuction for this young man.
He just wasn’t fully ready to commit to a true Deep Necklift yet.
Yesterday, he came back 1 year postop.
His neck and chin looked amazing, and he was ready to convert to a true Deep Necklift!
Even just one day after surgery, you can see incredibly clearly how much better a Deep Necklift is compared to liposuction.
During surgery, as with many men and occasional women, he showed a significant tendency towards oozing.
Patients who display this tendency are at greatly increased risk of the single scariest complication of facelift/necklift surgery: postoperative bleeding that requires emergency surgery.
This complication is called a #hematoma, and it’s a surgical emergency we try to avoid at all costs.
Thankfully, a Brazilian surgeon, @drandreauersvald, recently developed the “hemostatic net” technique.
The hemostatic net quilts down the areas where we worked, making the patient virtually hematoma-proof.
Placing the net takes significant time, and it is definitely bad marketing because it looks weird.
For those two reasons alone, many surgeons are reluctant to adopt it at all.
I use it judiciously: specifically in cases where I think there is increased risk of bleeding postoperatively.
The net is painless, is removed in 48 hours, and leaves no permanent marks.
It has dramatically increased the safety of facelift/necklift surgery in patients with unexpected bleeding tendencies.
On behalf of facial surgeons everywhere, I want to thank and congratulate Dr. Andre Aursvald for his valuable contribution to plastic surgery.
👉 What do you think of the difference between liposuction and Deep Necklift results?
👉 Can you see the value in using the hemostatic net when necessary?

Wow, the results look amazing!!! However, that net looks scary with the many incisions.😬It’s hard to believe that wouldn’t leave any scars. I hope you do a follow up video.

Ok good job. But you can't compare apples and oranges here. Liposuction is CONTRAINDICATED when there is a heavy neck with subplatysmal fat and what may have also been hypertrophic digastrics. So it was a better operation IN THIS CASE. But had the fat been supraplatysmal, liposuction is MUCH safer and less invasive. It doesn't make sense to say one technique is "better" than another when the indications are clearly so different. Nevertheelss, good job.
P.S. Some surgical history. The net was first described (in the literature) by Fausto Viterbo who himself learned it in Curitiba, Brazil. Andre (Auersvald) applied it to face and neck in the literature, but credit belongs also to some obscure surgeon who invented it in Brazil.

@@davidellison1423 are you serious , omg , the average facelift in the usa , out of the 56,000 performed last year was $9,000. the average mini cheek jowl lift was $5,000, so if youre serious , thats insane, i had a midfacelift in NJ in 2000. by dr marfiuggi, and hed did a smas lift and it actually held up a good 15yrs, it cost me $4,500 plus $1,500 for a coronal browlift,im in the market for another one, but would not pay for than $10 grand.

You could tell by his turkey neck before that he wasn’t a good candidate for lipo only. Most men dont have necks like that. Its not really a double chin but a neck bulge lol
