  • Australia is now buying double the amount of Chinese-made SUVs than we were 12 months ago. The Haval Jolion from GWM is one of the best sellers, but how does it stack up against MG?

    Just a couple points. 1. It certainly helps in doing some research into the operation of the various systems, prior to filming. Your comments of, "I couldn't work it out, I couldn't figure out how to do it" etc, surely doesn't inspire confidence in motoring journalism. Good luck when testing a Tesla! Fun fact: many of the operating functions can be assessed, through a simple swipe, either left or right across the center screen, including radio volume. 2. The USB port situated at the side of the rear vision mirror was cleverly designed for easy fitment of a dash cam. It works a treat! Interior fit and finish is far better than that other vehicle manufacturer at this price point. All higher end VW models take note. 3. Why include footage of the hybrid version (blue model) as well? 4. Drive display modes are a simple push button away on the right side of the steering wheel. Otherwise, a fine review!

      Thanks for your feedback. I'm personally of the opinion that a driver should be able to figure out how to use various systems on the center console screen without having to wade into a manual. Smartphones don't come with instruction manuals and we use those without too many problems and I think that carmakers should aim toward that level of ease of use. And I had driven the car for a week before I filmed the review...
      USB on the rear vision mirror does make sense then in that situation which did not occur to me as I'm not a user of dashcams.
      As I am a one-man band I rely on footage supplied by carmakers and the only footage I could find of the Jolion was of the Hyrbid, but the two cars do look broadly similar.
      Thanks for watching!

      Hello there. From your comment i guess you own a Jolion? I am thinking about it for a long time and soon i am about to buy a new car. That is why i am asking, because even when i did the drive test, was feeling so nice, big interior and easy to drive for first time user. If you are an owner, what's your recommedation, indeed it is really worthy as it looks? Thank you in advance for your time.

      I watched it and thought “surely he knows it’s for a dash cam”. That part gave me a great chuckle. I’m looking at getting the Jolion, can’t beat the price and I love that it looks like a spaceship inside 😄.

    Just put in all controls in auto, put your hands on steering wheel (you no need to steer it does automatically) stop by itself if any car infront of you stop in traffic. Unless you are the first person near traffic intersection you no need to break

    Really sick of uneducated biased reviewers like this guy here.
    Don’t post a review if you don’t even know how to access simple things in the car.
    This was a total embarrassment on his behalf.
    He pointed out some of the many great features but mentioned some ridiculous minor things.
    He didn’t know just swiping right on the screen acceses shortcuts for volume, heated seats, brightness , driving mode etc etc.
    it almost seemed like mg or a competitor paid him to pick as many faults as possible no matter how minor they were.
    Huge mistake was they kept showing video of a hybrid model on the road lol that’s how unprofessional this was
    Seems he doesn’t like new tech in cars obviously , he was acting as if he was reviewing a bmw and not the best priced, biggest specked , most spacious small suv with 5 star ancap rating for the lowest price in AustraliA
    Saying the stitching will come undone I’m in the dash was just comical .
    Also strange to be doing this almost a year and a half since they were released was odd.

    That USB port at rearview mirror is for dash cam, omg! Can't review correctly. A lot of cars used plastics in the interior, check out Holden Commodore, mate!

    • @4wheelsandaseat
      @4wheelsandaseat  Год назад

      As someone who has never used a dash cam, it did not seem obvious to me, but thank you for pointing that out. Yes many (pretty much all) cars use plastic on their interiors, but my point was the plastic did not feel to be as high quality as some others, but you can't offer a car of this size with this high level of equipment at this low price point without using some cheaper materials. Thank you for watching.

  • @lindae3681
    @lindae3681 Год назад +3

    I agree with the other posters. How are you supposed to give a thorough, well investigated review if you don't know anything about the car? It was embarrassing, like watching a fish on dry land floundering for air. Nitpicking on the stitching? Not knowing where the usb ports were? Then wondering why there was one next to the rear view mirror. But what got me is when you complained you didn't know how to work the infotainment, found the manual, then proceeded to say you shouldn't need to look at the manual. That's what it's for though, to find out how to do stuff. You gotta do better than this because people actually rely on reviews. Otherwise, what is the point of you?

    Too much safety and technology for you to understand, it would seem. Swipe from the left of the infotainment screen and a world of options will be at your fingertips. I think you need more time to learn how a safe, modern, current day car is like. Korean and Japanese car manufacturers should be afraid of what the Chinese car manufacturers can do with such a great price.

    If anyone is interested in this car, look for the car sales review. They actually review most features of the car (and know how to actually use them). This review wasn’t helpful at all. I just came back after watching the car sales one in case anyone else wants to see an actual review from someone….. who has made time to get to know the car.
