Holy shit, it sounds as if Dime learnt how to do Dream Theater while keeping his own signature Dime style!
One criticism: key of Phil's vocals should be a lil higher.
Yeah it might be a tad off cause the album was recorded a few steps higher than standard

However, it sounds like as if Dime played for Dream Theater and that's a badass thing!

This was incredible. The guitar tone, the pinch harmonics, palm mutes, double bass drum, vocals. So so good. It's really as if it's a Pantera song. Well done.

@@Thomas_17 If that's true, I guess we are both right, since Phil Anselmo said "PantallicA" when they played Seek and Destroy, precisely, with Jason. I had both the video and mp3, it was some of the first files I downloaded from Kazaa back in the early 2000's. But I have all the original 90's Pantera albums on CD. I didn't contribute to kill the scene through piracy ;-)

This sounds amazing!! Dimes tone is spot on!!
Phil should've growled (like in slaughtered)and done some more screams (like in suicide note part 2 and the great southern trendkill opening), tbh it sounds like a downtuned hetfield lol.
The verse vocals are perfect tho, and the guitar work sounds really good!! I think dime would have made it a little more aggressive and add a sprinkle of extreme metal but if I was told that pantera covered this I'd be sold

This definitely sounds around the southern trend kill days when Pantera was covering a few songs. And another one you should you should listen to is Cat scratch fever it's gold and spot on! This is my first time hearing this and it gave me goose bumps so good. Rex's bass top notch to fill in the more rhythm sections

Not wanting to be the "boring dude", but I feel that lots of songs about drugs are actually things like "I did this, now I'm addict and miserable, don't end up like me".
Mop isn’t against drugs it’s merely describing them because they’re interesting enough to write about, the whole band continued to abuse drugs after that album and it only got worse
@@JoshuaPagan217 MoP is anti-drug propaganda. Whether the band themselves touched drugs doesn't change that. Nearly every Alice in Chains song is also anti-drug propaganda as well.

That's a very nice and beautiful idea and you implemented and very well. Just 2 thoughts:
1. The drums are too much Lars Ulrich'ish, I'm missing the iconic Vinnie style there a bit.
2. this is a "Great Southern Trendkill" Phil. I'd preferred the cleaner voice approach of "CFH" (Cemetary Gates) Phil here I think.
Still a great thing, dude. Keep up that work!

You really get a measure of the dynamics in James' vocals listening to this. This is a great cover. No doubt. D-bag, fuhgeddaboudit... But, I think that dynamic had a huge part in delineating Metallica among the herd from the start.
it blows me away that it still has the CFH feel.
It sounds absolutely badass! I like the whole song, but my favorite part is from 3:33 - 4:47. It sounds hauntingly beautiful if that makes sense. I kind of prefer this version of the clean interlude over the original one. But they're both awesome in their own ways! Great job!
