/ stillwatchingnetflix
Divided by distance but ever determined, our scattered friends face a frightening future. But it's only the beginning. The beginning of the end.
Did anyone realize that Master of Puppets came out March 3rd 1986? That means Eddie had less than a MONTH to learn how to play it and he still rocked it!!
Its not a real person, its an actor.
his comment went right over your head bruh
@@patrickbertlein4626 No shit sherlock

this scene is one of the most epic scenes in s4. the fact Eddie did this for Chrissy and for a town that honestly hated him for something he didn’t commit is truely heroic.

The fact that he actually took the time to really learn to play this song makes this scene that much more dope
It's not him playing but a double. COVID hit so he actually had the time to learn guitar, but the double had already recorded
@@awesomeman8385he's an actor, they always learn something new every set.
He said in an interview is was him playing and that he was a metalhead since being a teenager so he learnt it way back before stranger things.
It was not him. It was one of the metallica members sons that played it. They interviewed Metallica on Jimmy Kimmel and the lead guitarist taught it to the other members son and he performed it for this scene.
@@awesomeman8385no the son did the solo they actor did the rest from I read anyway.
I fell in love with his character. I can't believe he's gone, he deserved to be there but he also deserved to prove it to himself that he's brave

Love how Eddie took Dustin’s warning of 20 seconds as his cue to start the solo
As a old Metalhead dies, a new one is born.
As an old Dungeon Master dies a new one is born
I can watch this for hour....
This is simple amazing
🤘🏻
Eddie and Dustin have the best chemistry. Dustin looking up as Eddie shreds is just pure joy for me. Eddie was a dope ass character and Shredded until the end. FOR CHRISSY CUNNINGHAM
The creation of Eddie was such a flex from the writers. They made a character, made him mix well with the team, made him likable and made us sad to see him die in just 1 season
Time travel and alternate timelines next season -- he'll be back.
He will come back as a vampire and as a lieutenant to Vecna.

I cried my eyes out at the end of the season
"In their last moments, people show you who they really are"
Eddie was a brave hero sacrificing himself to save a world that rejected him. He was a rockstar, a kind hero, and brave with compassion.. and in the name of Chrissy, a girl he barely knew.
They used to hangout before she got popular I thought
@@Aki_2177 I don't think so? cuz when they met up for her to buy drugs, they both said their personalities wasn't what they thought of each other.. i'll have to rewatch it to make sure
Well you could see he had feelings for her. As a matter of fact, I think he secretly crushed on her.
Its eddy!
He wasn’t appreciated in his own time
Easily one of the best scenes in any Netflix series. This was the god of all episodes. Blew my mind not expecting it the first time I watched it!
The Duffers and team are master storytellers.
You damn right. I always liked Eddie but this sent me over the edge. Headbanging wishing I was out there with a bat or a set of drums
I was headbanging during it lol
Nothing will ever replicate the feeling of watching the episode the first time...that unmistakable riff hit...and I leaped out of bed in complete awe of the not only the use of the song, but the visuals and story telling that were happening with it
Yeah and my mom was like here it goes, we have to listen to your favorite songs EVEN in TV series?😅
Best scene ever in this series. My husband and I were teenage metalheads in the 80's and knew lots of guys like Eddie. It's amazing how an actor born in 1993 in England did such a stellar job of becoming a 1980s American teenage metal fan. Kudos to Joseph Quinn. RIP Eddie Munson. You are legendary.
This is true.
I was a teen in the 80’s as well.
I had a lot of friends that looked just like Eddie! 🤘
Metallica might be American but Metal isn't. The very best are from England
I'd just like to say that I'm extremely jealous of you. Being a metalhead in the 80s and being able to remember it through Stranger Things sounds like an amazing life.
1993... makes sense why Eddie looked 30 to me
@@scottgrafton68 Yeah, most iconic metal bands like iron maiden, judas priest, black sabbath and motorhead are british bands.
This is easily the best scene in all of stranger things. Nothing beats this song choice or the perfection of Eddie’s rendition.
You have called it. Definitely The moment
Best scene in all of Stranger Things? Definitely, but I'd also argue it's one of the best scene in history, period, at the very least the best scene of any show I've watched personally

Also Play with Me by Extreme in the montage when they are trying to find a DnD sub. Most likely an homage to Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure when they play that song during the mall montage.

This scene and Max’s escape are the two best scenes in the entire series, no doubt about it.

I loved both of thus scenes but I find myself more dragged into max dying scene. She telling Lucas she didn't want to die, being blind and unable to move, crying, Lucas into so much pain and both actors doing a good job was just pretty fantastic to me.

That's 100% the isolated solo track from the song. But the fingers are looking good

The most iconic scene I've ever seen on TV. Seeing Eddie playing Master of Puppets in The Upside Down while being attacked by the Demobats is an awesome scene. Eddie truly did die a heroic death.
Not certain how they top this next season.
What a moment for the show.
The fact they got the rights for this song. I genuinely got goosebumps first watch. Good god what a scene, *chefs kiss*
Aside from Eddie being a total legend, it's also ingenious that they found a way to include Billy in this scene.
The two shared their taste of music, but in everything else they wear basically polar opposites.
40+ years old here and this scene made me remember old memories which always be with me. Goosebumps with hella complicated feelings. RIP Eddie your death reminded me my childhood which is gone like you with very beautiful things. Coolest character ever
Likewise!
Most metal scene in cinematic history. This scene was more than a masterpiece. This was just pure beauty
Fun fact: The actor that plays Eddie actually had to learn and play this song

@@epicgamer3409 no he didn’t he knew how to play guitar since he was seven but he didn’t know how to play this
Lars ulrichs son was actually in some of the shots as Eddie as a stunt double almost
This scene is actually very well thought and has two layers:
First is the obvious reference to Henry Creel(Vecna) as a "Master of Puppets". I reckon i don't need to explain the reasons. xD
The second is Eddie's character development, maturing and an atonement for his past deeds. Not surprised it went over many people's heads, and only fans of Metallica understood it(Everyone agrees it was cool AF though xD).
The song Master of Puppets is first of all an anti-drug song, so when Eddie dedicates this song to Chrissy, he does not only refer to Vecna, but also to himself. It's both tribute to her and an apology from a nice guy who did bad things for living.
One of my favourite characters of this show(And definitely favourite character of this season. Him and Yuri . The guy is hilarious, and is played by one of my favourite actors. x'D)
His duality is what makes the character interesting to me. Hero and the coward(as he considers himself to be outside of D&D campaigns). He proved to be the hero in the end.
Thank you for tying the fact that it's a song about drug addiction to the fact that she died while trying to buy drugs from him. I came here to mention that.
@@RaistliniltsiaR And also what i forgot to mention is that Eddie is, after all, a "dungeon master" of his D&D team.
I don't think this little detail is a coincidence. Brilliant character.
@@dauritas1460 Sure, and now that I think about it, this whole distraction tactic is taking the "puppets"(the demo-bats) away from their master. It's two masters battling for control of the puppets. Man, so awesome!

On the Ride the Lightning tour, James would always play the riff in the dressing room, but on the D string, and I’d play it simultaneously on the G string as a parallel-fourths harmony line. It sounded really dorky and funny. Then one day at rehearsal, James said, “Let me show you this really heavy song intro,” and proceeded to play that exact riff on the low E string. I said, “Ah, so you finally found a use for that dorky little thing!” It’s anything but dorky now."
