- After being locked down for a couple of months, we finally managed to finish our sandponics bed; The plants are in (cherry tomatoes- black cherry and zebra cherry) and the filter is cycling on a 1.5 hour cycle for 9 hours. Plants are doing really well-

Cool.
I converted one little bed to sand. When the pump inside the filter kicks off it steals the water from my other two beds. I’m stalling out a lot more, where I need to add more water. I haven’t come up with a plan yet, but I will.
This is more I like it, thanks for your sharing.
I am experimenting with putting a header tank at the opposite end of the sand beds to the fish tank, pumping water and fish waste from the fish tank to the header tank and allowing it to flow and drip into and through the sand beds. this allows natural minerals and worm-wee to be added to the system if and when appropriate. Videos of other systems can be viewed by searching at either RUclips, Facebook, or Google using the term 'sandponics'.
Hi, what's the recommended best length and width for the grow beds in sandponics?
How's the drain pipe designed? Won't sand pass through to fish tank?
This is my big question as well.
@@rickspringer4814 A bit of shadecloth held in place with a piece of gravel works fine
@@iAVs-Sandponics won't it need to be replaced at some point?
@@rickspringer4814 No one's ever asked or commented about that before - Rabie has a 6 year old system that hasn't needed it to be replaced; ruclips.net/video/_ag2A59PDUM/видео.html
Unsure if you are still monitoring youtube commments, but how did you deal with the silica build up in the water?
The silica is bound to the quartz, there is no silica in the water.
Still waiting the results
