Paraphrased: "Sometimes the universe seems so complicated that nothing appears to be wholly good or bad; everything seems to be a shade of grey. And then you spend some time with a man like Dick Cheney, and you realize, that there is such a thing as truly evil."
I bet they went through so many tests before arrived arriving at a frowning balloon ! This is one of the best John Stewart performances, and against one of John 's greatest mortal enemies, and in John's eleventh hour as Daily Show host and trail blazer of an entire genre. Who could ask for more ? Thanks for the laughs and have fun with quality family time and many new projects! Mensch!
A fake films said it well. But John could still hv those things, if he just graced us with his incredible genre of comedy atleast once a week. Humanity needs more of this not less. They could call it "The Day Show" drum drum snare. Atleast pass the tourch to somone that'll keep the original show going. I'm like really really sad to consider the double wammy with first Colbert & now his counter part. The balloon signifies the situation well yeah John &his fam are happy but millions will miss him. Hope we rise to the occasion to give him a break without loosing what he gave us. I mean we all gotta work together since we can't just end the show. & I suspect he'll still be with us occasionally to mk a point and help out like he always has& of course laugh.
What the hell is bedraggled shameless lol talking about fox news viewers? John's show finally was somthing better then just yelling at the TV in frustration. He did it for us, and if not in the face of the insane then from a media that achieved far greater results then me alone in my living room. & he did it with humor to point out what all the sane people are thinking. Fool you ain't a sith try rearranging the letters ya shit
Trevor is brilliant, too. It's just a different show, like how Last Week Tonight is also excellent, but different. Honestly, there's room for Jon and Trevor (and John, and Stephen, etc), we need the perspectives.
Your were great Jon. These skits, your humor, you're timing and you're love of the crowd, of the people was palpable. In the audience we could feel how much you cared, from the veteran at my right to the mother on my left. The Daily Show is fine with the kids, but they're no Colbert, Ferguson, Maher, Jeffries, Gervais, you - Jon Stewart. The gravitas you carried like the newsman of old. We respected you, we wanted to see you every night, let you into our homes, listen to what you had to say, even if we didn't agree with you sometimes. You are great Jon Stewart, we remember what was, what we could be and what made us great as a people.
The pain of coming back to watch old videos because no one does it like Jon does Trevor is smart and funny but not Jon kinda funny smart and self deprecating
Nothing beats his Crossfire interview. It was the first time the world got to see who Jon Stewart really was. He demolished them so bad the 23 year old show was cancelled 3 months later!
For me, it was either his Crossfire appearance, or shaming the congress on behalf of the Zadroga act. The Crossfire one because he arrived there with no ammunition and still shot down the hosts. The Zadroga act one because at that time he retired, but still bring the thunder in politics
I think we could all use more Jon Stewart in our lives and our world... maybe he'll have taken enough rest and come back to us before the year is out? I think of him as the Walter Cronkite of my generation, I just wish there was more of him.
Man, Jon is the greatest. I love all these old sketches and also love how boring politics was back then. Cheney didn't seem like a complete ass clown like all them are today.
That balloon has great comic timing.
better comedic timing than trevor noah?
Can't help but laugh at the irony.

This might be one of Jon's best ever segments
Kamal Miller it's crazy how when cheney describes a president that would weaken us on the world stage, that he's actually talking about trump
The last few years of his show jon was this good on a nearly daily basis
yes belongs in the historical record
Dear Jon,
We miss you. Come back home. . .
Sincerely,
Everybody
Looks like you have your wish Aaron 🙂
@@That_Random_BlokeEveryone should say thank you to Aaron
Aaron manifested so hard he brought back Jon Stewart
did you hear?

The way the balloon turned towards Jon on the close-up....just perfect
Besides the political humor, I watch Jon Stewart's The Daily Show vids to learn new words.
oral affectations was a good one
"wahhh bhwah" that noise mr stewart makes throughout this show and many others is the only word worth picking up

daniel harvey iv So no one ever forgets what a living pile of shit looks like. That's my guess.

God I miss this dude, living legend. No one uncovered and exposed pure bullshit and republican dumbasses and brainwashing better.
That was probably one of the finest moments of this show! Nice job!
Hilarious but true.
***** Us too but he is off to help rescued animals, a good thing.
Easily the greatest Daily Show segment of all time. Jon Stewart is legendary.
Daily show fan for many years, i like very much the truth depicted in all the shows. Will miss you John Stewart.
Jon, why are you leaving us? You have so much more to give. Such a talent.
As a Holmes, Noir, and Columbo fan this segment makes me very happy.
Don’t forget the Rockford files.
Anybody impersonating Holmes is a winner. True Halloween artist.
I forgot how great his Dick Cheaney impression is. Kills me every time.
Show hasn't been the same since Jon left. He was amazing and I miss him so much
Trevor is brilliant, too. It's just a different show, like how Last Week Tonight is also excellent, but different. Honestly, there's room for Jon and Trevor (and John, and Stephen, etc), we need the perspectives.

Friends....
Hi
2017 and I'm still here
That balloon has a greater morality than Dick Cheney.
Some say it still lingers on the roof of the Daily Show set.
Dick is evil
And more emotion than Kristen Stewart
This still remains the best segment ever 🤣🤣🤣
Some say that balloon is still floating there in the studio to this day...
Jon Stewart is the best thing to happen on Television since Carson... still miss him in 2021 :(
The best video of the Web. Thank you for so much jon stewart, thank you.
9 years later....Jon still the best
Did Stewart just go Colombo at 8:25?
Because if so.... Nice move.
He absolutely did!
Yes! :D
.. that was the idea.. Awesome move 💥💥💥
Yes, he did....and brilliantly!
yeah
Good thing Republicans are not burdened with the hardship of concepts like logic or thinking.
wayfarerpg Don't foreget that the Senate voted for the war, the Democratic led senate.
Granted the difference is marginal
adikos27 yes after the Repulbicans begged them, lol. That's what the democrats get for reaching across the aisle and being patriotic I guess...
wayfarerpg No politician is. Their all scum willing to sell us all out to corporate big wigs!
wayfarerpg Not burdened by logic, thinking, or the one thing even more inconvenient...a soul.
Jon Stewart HERO
I miss Jon so much. He makes me laugh so hard my side hurts.
My god, this was one of his best skits. I miss him so much. We will never be able to replace that witty character.
Who else is watching Jon in 2023?❤
2024!
The pain of coming back to watch old videos because no one does it like Jon does Trevor is smart and funny but not Jon kinda funny smart and self deprecating
One of his best segments in his entire career! Going straight at one of the most evil men on the planet.
Cheney is definitely up there. Making money off killing people is as close as it gets.
hats off to Jon Stewart, he is simply brilliant
Hats off to you Jon one of your best segments
that balloon is just. too. perfect.
I also liked Colbert's use of a canned ham w/glasses as Carl Rove.
If *Jon Stewart* ever had his best moment, your watching it
A great moment indeed, but in my own opinion I believe his 9/11 reaction was his best moment.
The 'you couldn't be more fucking wrong about Iraq' clip is another legendary sketch. Maybe my favorite.
Nothing beats his Crossfire interview.
It was the first time the world got to see who Jon Stewart really was.
He demolished them so bad the 23 year old show was cancelled 3 months later!
an honourable mention should also go to "mighty morphin position changers"
For me, it was either his Crossfire appearance, or shaming the congress on behalf of the Zadroga act.
The Crossfire one because he arrived there with no ammunition and still shot down the hosts.
The Zadroga act one because at that time he retired, but still bring the thunder in politics
This is one of the greatest bits in television history. Really miss jon Stewart, we need him now more than ever.
8:00 You can see how much he wants to laugh, but hes holding it in😂😂😂
yea lmao his jaw is clenched
Nobody brought truth to power as well as Jon freaking Stewart.
This bit shows just how excellent Jon Stewart was. 🤣😂
Greatest ever expisode of the Daily Show.
8:20 lol flawless columbo impression!! lolol
jetpaq Just one more thing... I can't get this one question out of my mind...
Dick Cheney is like Emperor Palpatine man.. evil, calculating, and always one step ahead!
Nobody else is capable of an intro like that, absolutely hilarious 😂
That balloon has excellent comedic timing
the best tv show of all time. very funny, very informative.
Jon Stewart is so amazing, I just love him :)
And thats when Maliki walked in. And I decided to shift genres.
He’s back!!!!!
!!PRICELESS!! JON STEWART IS AMAZING💞
1:50 - Holy shit all of that sounds pretty ironic with the last three years of retrospect.
It is the end of 2018. I'm watching this for the 10th-ish time during the past two years... Still brilliant.
Several months later, and this is still the most attractive Columbo impersonation I have ever seen.
Watching John is still so much fun 😅
Idk if anyone’s mentioned it here, but in Star Wars: The Clone Wars there’s a war profiteer character named Halle Burtoni.
Woooooooot ! Thank you from Canada, i can see your video now :)

To quote someone 4 years ago:
Dear Jon,
We miss you. Come back home. . .
I find great joy in seeing Jon Stuart arguing with a frowning red balloon.
I imagine Jon came up with this bit while sitting at home, yelling at a balloon after watching the news.
Fast forward to right now....... I could cry
this is one of the best ever real facts in comedy comedy covered by Jon Stewart if not is the best clip ever for Jon
Dick Cheney and most of the rightwing remind me of the old saying - "those whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad."
eminem where is that saying from? How true and relevant it is today.
I love this guy
Fantastic Jon Stewart!!!!
Thank you for exposing hypocrites
Everything Cheney described Obama as in that interview described Obama’s successor to a tee.
Extraordinarily brilliant
This was brilliant!
"... a good person, like Eric Greitens..."
Missourians: "Yikes."
The intro of Dick Cheney is genius !
0:20 “a good person like Eric Greitens” that aged well
"Damn you, Dick Cheney!" is a perfect balance to "Thanks, Obama."
I liked the Columbo impression at the end there.
I love the Columbo impression at the end!
Great show and so factual!
2:06 isn't that what trump is doing??
Brilliant
oh just perfect. I love it!!!!!
Best show ever! And all factual
My god... I am going to miss this man...
“I take your reddened face as embarrassment” 🤣
It's funny watching this with Trump as president
Jon Stewart. A national treasure
This was his greatest bit in my opinion. Lol you can see him cut the string just before he floats off
You better not quit Jon!
"a good person like Eric Greitens" yeah that didn't age well
From Missouri, had to google him just to make sure it was him lol
I miss this man every single day.
The GOAT! Jon is a legend!
John Stewart is a comic legend
More of a philosopher than a comic.
Man, Jon is the greatest. I love all these old sketches and also love how boring politics was back then. Cheney didn't seem like a complete ass clown like all them are today.
Lol i like the Colombo reference.
That was a fantastic Colombo impression.
2:09 You just had to jinx us, thanks a lot Dick
I’m sorry but the ballon turning at exactly the moment jon was accusing it was hilarious.
