    This Pilates Workout, Expand and Extend, is Day 28 of the 30-Day Pilates Journey, “Finding your Center.” Expanding the front body by extending the spine is one of the best ways to counteract the rounded forward posture as a result of sitting much of the day. Engaging the muscles of the back body will bring us into better posture and alignment, and help us feel so much more open (in both body and mind!).
    When we do these exercises while also engaging our center, we can find the support and stability we need to safely extend our spine without compromising our lower back. These are some of my favorite exercises! Although we include some of these as part of a regular Pilates routine, I love to do a dedicated extension and expansion routine like this when I feel like I need that extra opening.

    Last week was a nut week in Texas. I gave myself permission to wallow and not pressure myself into working out. But I really missed it :( I'm here today; extra cranky due to mother nature and now my hips feel heavenly and I feel so relaxed! Thank you!!!♡♡

    Your animals are super cute and what a cozy spot/room! (Both areas you've used for this series.) Another great session!
    Your instruction ensures proper engagement, movement and focus. It must be a habit for me to occassionally use my neck or lower back still with some moves, as your commentary is always just at that exact moment and early/timely enough when I can safely make the proper correction. Thank you.

      Thank you! That transition to my house showed you what it's really like when I work out from home 😆With 2 cats and a dog, there's always something furry around, lol!
      I'm so glad that the explanations are helpful for you in adjusting your form and alignment 😃And your recognition of the fact that you're over-using your neck and lower back is great progress! You're realizing that you're not engaging the correct muscles... with time, your body will start making those corrections on it's own!

    Completed day 27 and 28 today to completed the 30 days by tomorrow. I have definitely become stronger and more flexilble
