  • This video hopefully puts to rest the statement Bruce Lee was never beat by Victor Moore. My first video was based on research by myself, and it seems that some believe that he was just an actor. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but i base my views on cold hard study and research.

Funny thing is, Bruce never went around bragging about who he could specifically beat or not beat in public. He was confident in his abilities and NEVER needed to play that game. My personal experience has been, it's the people who don't brag that are the ones you need to worry about! I personally noticed it's the ones who constantly brag about who they beat, or could have beaten, that are usually the most harmless to "real" fighters : )

Bravo, Sifu.....most all that criticize Bruce for not being a "real" martial artist, never took, the time to examine his life or listen to some of his students who are still alive. James DeMile, who is an original Seattle student and who had a falling out with him, speaks candidly of what a bad-ass he was and how fast and powerful also. He was sent to live in the US to claim his birthright as he was born in San Francisco, mainly because he was a gang-bangin' thug who was about to be arrested for beating up a police chief's (captain ?) son. Was Bruce super-human, certainly not. A perfect person, he was flawed just like the rest of us. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Bruce Lee was one of the greatest Martial artists and has left us with so much to learn from. Jim Kelly spoke about his greatness of fighting. Not mentioning any names ,showing respect for the ones that Bruce beat in sparring to which he said many. Plus why would such great fighters like Joe Lewis, Chiuch Norris, study with him for long periods of time if they didn’t see the greatness in this man. Joe Lewis said his fighing improved because of what he learned from him. He didn’t need to prove anything to anyone, he had the goods and lived it. And he said most of the time Bruce would walk away,, when he couldn’t he will fight these people and he said these were brutal street fights. And he said no one came close to being any kind of competition for brows, he would just take these people apart so easily. Another thing people didn’t know about Bruce Lee, is that he trained it all ranges of fighting, standing grappling, wrestling and even submissions. What he was doing was creating his own style of MMA. It will never be another Bruce Lee. And I never even heard of this guy who supposedly beat him.

I have seen a few long time martial artists talk about fighting and beating Bruce. They never mentioned it when he was alive for obvious reasons. But many have waited about 40 years or more before spouting off about their superior prowess that they could of beaten Bruce. And they waited all this time to say what they are saying, not just because Bruce is deceased. But because they are now so old that should a challenge come their way they can claim that it would not be fair because they are of such an advanced age.
In fact, that is why I'm sure no challenges have come their way from students of Bruce's style or from just martial artists that idolized him. So it's an impossible task to put to rest all this speculation about beating Bruce in a fight. By those who suffer from jealousy of Bruce's accomplishments and fame.
My guess is that 50 years or more from now, when we are all dead. There will be more of these, "I could of beaten Bruce Lee" claims from people born a hundred years after his death. What they need to do is follow Bruce's lead and make history on their own name and stop trying to become famous using his.

I agree with what you are saying, I watched part one also. Bruce Lee didn't always have a great physique as seen in some of his younger photos, he really developed over time, which is a result of some very hard training. His abdominal definition and wing-like lats tell me that he must be working hard, would be very strong for his size, and most likely have good endurance.
Charles Barkley often talks about certain guys having extreme confidence. Mohammad Ali would be at the top of that list, and Bruce Lee would be up there too. That is what separated him from other martial artists, he could walk into an auditorium filled with black belts, at 5'7, and tell them that his style was better, that takes serious balls! Most of us would fold under that pressure, he thrived on it. The other thing that seperated him was that he grew up in front of a camera as a child actor. He was comfortable being center stage with all the lights on, he was trained early on to perform in those situations.
He aimed himself towards the acting as a martial artist, probably because that is where the money was back then. There was no UFC back then, the only guys that made real money fighting were the best of the best in Boxing. I think he knew he could make the greatest impact through movies and make the most money at th same time. There also was no internet back then, if you wanted to reach a global audience you had to do it through movies.

The only speed competition Victor Moore beat Bruce Lee in was the dash to the last plate of food.
Everyone needs to remember what the demonstration actually was: Moore wasn't told "I'm gonna surprise you; try to block whatever I throw at you" - He was basically told "OK, get ready, now try to block my straight punch", meaning he was in position, knew what was going to be thrown, and despite anyone's opinion on the distance and extension of the punches recorded in video, Moore's reactions were clearly not fast enough to come close to Lee's incoming punches.
And, btw, if you're in the "Bruce's punches wouldn't have even reached Victor" camp, that means the punches' origin was further away, so they actually would have given Victor a bit longer to react.

I still ADAMANTLY stand by my convictions that NONE of the strikes that Bruce Lee performed were in fact blocked but GM Victor Moore responded (after the fact) out of reflex alone. Be that as it may I was disciplined (for lack of a better word) by a so called Master who adores GM Victor Moore that cannot even defeat his OWN student (ME) in a FAIR match and this has been recorded in front of his own Master who I will not flame on this post. I find it sad that one's ability is sullied by others that DON'T measure up. Nobody thinks Vic beat Bruce lee. I seriously doubt Vic moore would even suggest anything like this when Lee died, as Bruce Lee would hunt him down probably.
Vic Moore is obviously jealous of Bruce lees success. Angry that bruce lee put karate down, and tournaments down, so its not like Vic hasn't got a motive.
But Vic like them all tip toed around Bruce lee. And nobody thinks Vic Moore would beat Bruce lee. Jim Kelly would know and he said nobody could beat Bruce lee back then. He has the greatest testimonials of all times, which is akin to a smoking gun as far as most people are concerned.
But when you are the best like Lee obviously was, people will want to bring you down, especially if they are jealous, especially now Lee is no longer here to defend himself. But posthumous cheapshots don't impress anyone.

    Agreed, Sir.
There is a reason why we, still to this day, are talking about Bruce Lee.
He was phenomenal and easily, at least 100 years ahead of his time...imho.
(Created his own diet using his blender, his own training equipment, congealed all he knew into his own style of the art, never stopped learning, etc.)
Thank you for your honest & intelligent approach to this subject.
    HOO-YAH & God Bless

Sifu Stroud, thsnk you for so eloquently expressing the factual and documented martial arts reputation of Master Bruce Lee. I agree that anyone who has studied Master Lee for any length of time must arrive at thte same conclusion. I have the utmost respect for those like you, who can recognize genuine skill and accomplishment, whether it be in martial arts, acting, or any human endeavor.

I don't think Vic Moore could not have blocked any of Bruce Lee's punches, his punches were recorded at 3 one hundreds of a second fast. And it was a demonstration and that's that. I completely agree with everything you have said. I have beer a loyal follower of Bruce since I was 13 yrs old. I am now shy of 50. Don't get me started on all of the brow beaters that say this and that about Bruce, they didn't know him and neither did I. I wish people would just leave him alone and just remember him in spirit and what he did for martial artists. Sorry I'll shut up now, 😞😇 Namaste and Peace 😇

Thank you Steve, you are sounding like me now. The thing that disturbed me the most, was not the speed demonstration, but the fact that Master Moore discredited Bruce Lee. He said in one of his videos that lee was just an actor, and not a martial artist. I can't wrap my brain around this arrogant notion at all. Bruce Lee, as you know, paved the way for all martial artist in America who have since received notoriety and success that they would have never seen had it not been for Bruce Lee. He tore down the wall of separation between the United State and China. Thanks again.m -brother teacher

I lke that. "He's been dead since 1973". Yet he is immortal through his work and his generosity in teaching the arts to everybody against all odds even his own culture to the point of disowning him at one point. Relentless, a pioneer, a leader who changed history likened to any other heroes who started America change. Wow! When people think and say Bruce Lee is overrated. The more the new and young generation see how great he is and develop the respect to him and the arts. When I was young I first admired Jackie Chan (and all respect goes to Jackie to promote the arts with entertainment on his own) for the different styles and when I saw the movies of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan now having worked with him and his account (quote) of The Man and Respect for him: "When Bruce is on the set you have to pay attention to him and open your eyes because you don't know after what just happened. That is how fast he is." Wow! Thanks!

Grand Master Stroud, you are 110% correct. I have seen that taped advent and each time Bruce moves in hits and his hand is already by his side before Vic points his hand up and in front of him. Its very clear Bruce was faster, stealthier and right on point, not to the head as Vic said. all anyone has to do is view that video themselves (in slow mo because Bruce was so fast). I thank you as a Fan of beloved Bruce Lee. Thank You.

Bruce wasn't unbeatable, but he was the greatest intelligent Martial Artists in history. Bruce is the king of martial arts as Elvis is the king of Rock'n Roll.

    Hi Brother Reginald Stroud,
Bruce Lee DID Fight that is why he had to come to America, he HURT Somebodies son connected to The Mayor or The Police . People said HE Fought Chinese Extra's that kept Challanging On The Set Of "Enter The Dragon" which PEOPLE SAW AND Told about it. One Chinese Extra Kept Running his mouth So Bruce Got Tired Of His Mouth So Bruce Said Come on and The Guy Jump Down Off The Wall. Bruce Lee told the Guy You hit me once THEN I HIT YOU Once. The guy hits Bruce and Bruce is Unfazed. Bruce Hits the Loud Mouth once and the guy thinks he's not hurt, SO he opens his mouth to smile and his mouth is fulled with Blood and his teeth Fall out. After that No Ons Challenged him again. That's How Fast He Was. For those thaty don't know what an Extra is It is a person with a Tiny Role or you see the you don't hear them in a Scene or Scenes. Something You may have forgotten about Brother Teacher Reginald Stroud and For those that Thought He is Just a Movie Star. God Bless You Brother Teacher Reginald Stroud.IF You Believe Vic Moore Beat Bruce Lee ,You probably Believe The Earth Is Flat.
    Sincerely,
    D. Neal Linville

+Neal Linville LMFAO....thats a very entertaining story.....so i take it the movie extra was a skilled martial artist? if so...what tournaments has he won?...btw most martial artists dont usually punch ppl in the mouth in a real fight...u didnt specify how he hit the extra so ill just pretend u 4got to say it was some other strike besides a punch lol

+Neal Linville Thank you Neal, for the positive feedback. Unfortunately we both know that the issue of Bruce Lee being a real fighter is not debatable, but there will always be those that didn't make it to the level that Lee did, who will continue to stand on the nonsense. I didn't forget you, i will submit some exercises for you soon. And lastly on the Bruce Lee point, A lot of these guys that have made these negative statements about Bruce Lee's legitimacy, were there when Lee was alive and didn't open their mouth to challenge him, because they knew that he would have put his foot in it. Now they wait until he is long gone to talk this nonsense. The whole world can't be wrong, because they celebrate him as the greatest martial artist of our time, not the greatest actor. -brother teacher

+reginald stroud Master Stroud...please check out a video clip on RUclips called "Joe Lewis" About Bruce Lee's Skills...it is taken from a later interview with him. Most people do not know that Master Bruce and Master Joe had a bit of a falling out in 1972...which is why Chuck was chosen for the role as Colt in The Way Of The Dragon...Joe was the fighter who was originally chosen. Before Joe's death he had some very respectful and positive things to say about Master Bruce...he even included them in his book.

+reginald stroud. Master Stroud....what I find interesting is that when you view any photos of Brucce next to any other fighters such as Mike Stone, Chuck Norris. ,or Joe Lewis. ..Bruce is Always in the middle of the Photo ! Always ! That in and of itself is an indication that Master Bruce was The Alpha ! I have never paid attention to any of the slight negative statements made by Norris about Bruce not being a real fighter because when he was alive all of these men paid homage to him. Master Joe was considered the best pure Karate practitioner and he was a heavyweight ! You heard what he said about Bruce and the power, strength and blinding speed Bruce possessed ! Even today two of the best all time MMA fighters hail Master Bruce as the reason for them getting into martial arts.....Anderson Silva..and Jon Jones !
