Man, had this song going over and over in my head. Had to check songs from three of his albums to find it. This is one hell of a tight band: Tom Scott, Eric Gale, Gary King, Steve Gadd, Ralph MacDonald, Richard Tee. "YOU - ARE - GODS!!
For some reason, 'Street Beat' took a while to grow on me, but 'Blow It Out' IMHO was Scott's last great album-- that is, adhering to that Classic '70s Jazz-Rock, light R&B marriage. One of my favorite albums. Doesn't get enough credit for his beautiful soprano work
Could any of my more musically proficient brothers or sisters tell me what key this is in? I would very much like to learn how to play this on bass and keyboards.
The 70's was the greatest era of Jazz-Funk Fusion and Tom Scott was one of it's pioneers.
Herbie Hancock too!
