I would have liked this job too... the robots/pods come to you and you have a small slide ladder to climb up for the higher items.. I see you have a step stool... I guess every warehouse is different.... I never got the picker position.. this seems like a separate floor altogether and not noisy...
I'm the opposite, as in I'd prefer to transfer to a robotic FC if I could move. When you get batches that make you walk to the opposite end of pick, just to grab one item then back again, doing the same for hours, you'll kind of wish for those robots back.
You would not love to do this after 8+hours of walking, going up to level 5 for one item, then back to level 1 for the next 10 items kinda deal. Robots coming to me would literally save so much physical exhaustion.
Man this sucked. Stowing was so much easier. They forced me to train for pick and I almost quit. Stowers always get in your way, it’s way harder to make rate as pick is pushed harder than other jobs
now my is How many products will it scan per hour at that speed? I almost run everywhere to be able to scan more than 100 products per hour and I don't even go over 80/40 products per hour 😭
Man I wish our traditional walking floor was like this with smaller items. The warehouse I'm at right now will have you lift 50lb items over your head on a shelf just to pick them 😐
Pickers are definitely not that slow in my warehouse it would be a lot safer if they were the ones where I work haul ass everywhere and don't look where they're going they hit people with the pick carts everyday.
@@YoungShyne123 that's why I used my swag bucks to get a beanie hat and I hid my airpods in the beanie hat. Either way, so many people I’ve seen had earphones in without hiding them. Managers probably don’t care
@robertwhite8559 the scanner will actually switch floors and zones on you..I do this...and my scanner will switch floors on 4 times a night...it's very annoying
i started at a non robotic facility a week ago and i like it but the walking is whats alot. it starts to wear on you. on the bright side its more freedom.. you hardly see people my shift so it goes by fast staying so active.
Yes, your pretty much timed for both departments. For picker, after 5 minutes of not scanning an item it would be considered TOT (time off task). For packer I believe it's also five minutes per item (I'm not so sure). But picking it's a lot walking depending the warehouse you would work at, while packer your just at one station all day.
It really depends on what you like more staying or walking, for me it's the second option cause when im walking, mostly "slow running" :) it depends on my mood,it kinda feels that time goes faster, and one more hint stop looking at the clock on the device all the time ✌️ 😁 and buy a neck warmer ,put it on your ears instead of a simple mask just to hide the headphone that you're listening to😉🤘
I can say I would do sorting before pick. Pick seems to be boring . I sort, pack, tote wrangle. I'm an ambassador in all three. Soon ill be going to pick and the dock..
I remember this. Was running (im a fit 100lbs female) and still they were saying I wasn't fast enough to make rate. I told them I was dyslexic so they wouldn't keep writing me up for being slow
I did this at a different company & it wasn't bad at all the pay just was s*. Ppl are lazy & complainers lol I'd love to do my same role just for Amazon or better, pay.
I've seen people write "I f_cked a b_tch in the parking lot", lots of phone numbers, random curse words or suicide notes, and lots of anime hentai stickers placed all over
Too much stressful Job I did 6 months In dubai DXB3 Everyone are good nice staff but too much pressure I face as a picker very hard work all the running and running😁Lol
This one is better than the automated pods unless you hate/cant walk for long periods of time.
This job makes you fit from all the walking.
Had a job similar to this, after loading semi trucks with large heavy items in UPS, this was like utter Valhalla...
my view for 12 hrs
I would have liked this job too... the robots/pods come to you and you have a small slide ladder to climb up for the higher items.. I see you have a step stool... I guess every warehouse is different.... I never got the picker position.. this seems like a separate floor altogether and not noisy...
i would love to do this kind of picking, at my warehouse we have picking stations and the robotic bins come to you... but its more stressful
Why is it more stressful?
I'm the opposite, as in I'd prefer to transfer to a robotic FC if I could move. When you get batches that make you walk to the opposite end of pick, just to grab one item then back again, doing the same for hours, you'll kind of wish for those robots back.
We got order pickers at my FC glad I’m not walking like this lol

Robots coming to me would literally save so much physical exhaustion.
I honestly wish we had robots walking for 10hrs a day is exhausting.
My question is why is he packing or keeping all the items in the place instead of keeping them in different places?
Man this sucked. Stowing was so much easier. They forced me to train for pick and I almost quit. Stowers always get in your way, it’s way harder to make rate as pick is pushed harder than other jobs
Nightmares of the sound the scanner makes, as a current picker Americans done got lazy af. Atleast my FC has some cool people.
This has to be a smaller fulfillment center because my Amazon has cages and cages of items
the halls look scary , and therese no people around at times do you get scared ?
I dont see any stairs. How do you pick the item if it is too high to reach? Do you go go the front of the warehouse and bring a staircase?
I wonder which location this is, i need this job.
I can hatch my pokemon eggs just while working
Where is this facility? I'm in California we have robots that comes to our stations for us to pick.
Thats looks like a misson glad i work shipping dock
now my is

Same here too. my warehouse is not advanced we have no robotics in our warehouse.
Pickers are definitely not that slow in my warehouse it would be a lot safer if they were the ones where I work haul ass everywhere and don't look where they're going they hit people with the pick carts everyday.
How do you know where to go down these random isles and stop at a certain boxes?
It look like the picker staying on one floor. So the next scan gives location and its close.. I'm in guessing lol...
if you look at the scanner - it has the floor - aisle - colour and number - its really easy, the problem is you can't listen to music

I know who would be good at that job !
Dude picking up aluminum cans at the parks ! And tight alley spaces !
Be Blessed !
I get to ride around 3 stories in the air on an order picker machine picking 50 pound boxes.
Where is this? We have robots for the pickers.
I do the same thing in Newnan ga
Eu trabalho disso, mas o nosso carrinho é bemmmm diferente!
I work with that, but our cart is different
Non robotic facility? I'm still trying to figure out if that is good or bad... I picked a robotic warehouse 😒
Not having to walk 20+miles a day, I'd say is pretty good 😅

@@user-vw9fd6tw7q I'm a picker too but the walking is really hurting my knees you got any advice for knee pain?
Are you at SDF8? Cause looks similar
Has to be.. in about 3 minutes he'll be send to hrv, then back to p1 lol
How do you know which item to pick inside that drawer?
UPC on the barcodes, like retail stockers
The scanner tells us everything we need
They also have pictures of the items needed and how many to grab
It’s tell you
I guessed most the time and kept getting written up
Where is this amazon warehouse
What happens if items fly out?
It can result in you getting an error which is called a P.E.I (Pick Error Indicator)
Which is better picking or sorting?
I can say I would do sorting before pick. Pick seems to be boring . I sort, pack, tote wrangle. I'm an ambassador in all three. Soon ill be going to pick and the dock..
yo trabaje en un FC de Mexico y me arrepiento. Jornadas de 12 horas y un sueldo muy bajo.

Seriously
I work at TPA4 and everything is machines and automated…we just stand in one spot the whole time picking..this looks awful to have to do…I’m sorry
Fast wie h&m picken

Please mention to say you’re crossing or turning the corner. Just for your safety!
I'd be bored to death.
What is the required rate of picking for 1 hour ?
@@kimmiejean37 ayeeee I hit 90 my second day
Here in Ohio they expect 350 per hour which is insane I'm at 150 on my second week
I do 120 to 150 per hour, but one day I reached 300 taking multi large
It depends on the warehouse and volume. Mine is 75/hour but you're usually walking 2-5 minutes between picks. This video has relatively close picks.
Does anyone ever write graffiti on those box drawers?
I'm 6 months late...but YES lmaooooo
I've seen people write "I f_cked a b_tch in the parking lot", lots of phone numbers, random curse words or suicide notes, and lots of anime hentai stickers placed all over
All of the time. There was someone tagging up the whole place a couple years ago. And we get the occasional truely talented artist.
Do they drug test? 🍃😂😂
Yes
ya, but it's an oral test, so you can pass if you don't smoke for like 48 hours
