I am currently a Stower, this is so cool to see the other positions 💕 this is why when I stow I try to make sure it’s easy for the pickers to access and not over stuff , keep up the great work 💕

I understand that the computer tells you how much to put inside and its not the stowers fault, but sometimes it is so hard when its a huge box that berely fits and you need to pull it out. I was a picker for 2 1/2 months but got fed up with the managers harassing me over their quota. The bods continuously stall due to failure or an item on the floor so I had to wait up to 1/2 hour before they'd start moving. But management won't accept responsibility for repeated areas. But they will blame you for not achieving the quota. So I told them to shove the lousy job. Amazon sucks to work for.
Honestly this job isn’t that bad people complain about everything nowadays. I’ve seen people work their ass off with no benefits and little pay at other jobs. I prefer this than dealing with customers. Ppl complain because they are not use to being on their feet but it’s honestly easy.
Yeah I know that if I do this job I'll be fine with it and yeah the jobs such as retail and customer service they don't even be successful for. You can try all day to apply for retail they just won't offer you..

Amazon works people very hard and squeezes every bit out of you, mentally and physically, until you cant take it anymore, however it does provide opportunities to people whom may not be able to get stable employment. At the end of the day, its a warehouse job - nothing glamarous, all hard work, but that don't mean they shouldn't be getting paid well or have a union that looks out for their rights.
I currently work at UPS. I plan on quitting soon to go to Amazon. Ready for a change, a full time job and hopefully get off night shift after 7+ years and get my social life back. I watched a couple of Amazon videos and I like what I see. Thank you for sharing your working experience. I heard from others they have a good way to keep everyone recognized and its not too bad of an environment with other people but for the most part you work alone, which is nice. Unlike where I work at UPS its abusive, get harassed and a lot of favoritism by managers. At least Amazon looks like they adapt the work area, UPS doesn't. I wouldn't mind a little bit of a pay rate dip just to be treated correctly and work with decent people. Everyone in UPS is sour.

They don't enforce masks, we don't do covid checks, consistency with discipline sucks, abusive management, HR doesn't exist because corporate wanted to save money, lots on harassment in management, cussing on radios, public embarrassment, poor training, fake paperwork, LOTS of favoritism for performace based raises for pt supervisors from their managers, your title doesn't mean shit in the hub if your in management. Everyone does hourly work even if the union tells you to stop. I can go on and on but 7+ years dealing with the bs, the money isn't worth my sanity and health.
At the beginning is tough you need to prepare your mind and body to work the full 10 hours !!! I started working last week ! Omg my body hurt like crazy my feet everything. But at the same time I love it I want to become fit I also suffer from anxiety, and I noticed after working here my anxiety decreases a lot , I sleep better and I’m able to manage my symptoms !!!!! So I guess is doing good for me mentally 💓💓💓

It gives those whom are interested in hustling for amazon an inside view of what it would be like for them I won't work their warehouse, I probaly would end up catching a case if I did. @@HarlowerayneI feel Amazon sucks. I even delivered packages for them, I lasted 7 months. Overloaded vans, no time for breaks and I delivered in rural areas pissing in bottles, getting bit by customers lose dogs. Then an hour ride back when my route done.
@Donney Simpson I work in a manual FC doing pick, we don't have these robots that bring everything to you. We walk upto 26km a night, up and down the isles in the various libraries. I totally agree though, the worst is when your constantly picking from the low bins A, B then A, B again and again, then to F or H and back again to A & B for items. It definitely takes a toll on your body mainly your knees and for most people, they have never spent so much time on their knee's as they can & tend to do, in this job. I guess one thing I see in these robotic warehouses, is you don't tend to suffer like we do, with bins constantly over filled by stow, and having to empty bins to scan all items when you encounter shortages. Our rates are way less than yours though in our type of FC, with only a few top pickers managing to pick over 1000 items in a single 10hr shift, but it is all dependant on which flow the PA assigns you as to what you can reasonable achieve.
@@lazycatt287 I can't speak for what happens in the USA, but here in Australia, we have minimum wage and jobs don't normally come with benefits. Wages for warehouse staff range from AUD 27 to 45 per hour. At my FC it's more like AUD$34.90 per hour. Having said that, our cost of living is much higher than the USA.
I was at a facility that used to be that way but they upgraded and got cherry pickers for everyone to use…I actually thought it was fun driving those things around all day. Better than walking
Hang in there, your FC will go robotic sooner or later. Then you can stay until you reach retirement. I quit in 2020, wasn't for me. I have family and friends that have been at Amazon for years. Salute to all ya'll!
Easy?? They want you doing it 10 second s and under 200 an hour. Scanning mostly slows you down. Big items putting stuff back setting up your carts moving your carts climbing up and down the ladder, and people coming and asking what do you think is slowing you down it's slave work. This video does not do the work justice..
@@AmirMUFTV So I actually enjoyed the work aspect of it but, the mandatory overtime is too much for a college student. Since I worked the 40 hr week when they call for mandatory overtime I had to work 50hrs a week and that killed me lol. So I resigned.
I originally applied to Amazon because of videos like this and seeing people pick while live on TikTok. wellllll I got a job and was assigned to pick… but at my warehouse we spend the entire 9 1/2 hours walking around pushing carts grabbing items off of the non-moving shelves. it’s exhausting and I can’t wait to be able to switch to packing

Maybe they found something not to be true in his application process, but just guessing though......I don't know the company very well. I'm surprised that he wasn't told why he didn't get a reason....he also might be telling you fibs
Hope you’re good. My husband is currently at UPS and he loves it. No pick rates, nice atmosphere and diversity in management. If he ever returned to Amazon he get a position like a cousin of ours. Not sure of the title, but all she does all day is unclogged stuck boxes or totes on the conveyor belt. No more sore muscles and the easiest job from what I hear.
This facility has the steps too. You can slide them over when you want to reach the back of the top slots. I used those steps at times, just not in this video I didnt need them But there were times.
Im working at amazon as packer and now they trained me into picker, i wish we have that one too because when i pick i have to walk 5 minutes and can't even use bathroom coz it's pretty far and i have to walk for 10 hrs a day.
While this may be cool to watch and gather insight about some of the amazon jobs( I am currently an amazon employee ) most likely… this person doesn’t have this job anymore. Turn over is high on top of the fact that this is a fireable offense which I just learned recently… any picture/ video in most of the warehouse is, SO just be careful all of you current and future amazon employees! Choose your shifts on the Amazon a-to-z app. They will explain everything to you, or you can call ERC, and representatives who work from home in many different parts of the world will explain whatever questions you have.

I currently work at Amazon in henderson nevada and they not strict at all everyone has ear buds we can listen to music it's easy money but I can be boring doing repetitive work nothing changes for full 10 hour days.
I’ve done 6 other jobs here picking and counting have to be the worst jobs. It’s a mental and physical game for sure and the rate is Ridiculous! I’m hitting a 280 and they want a 350 and that 280 is on a good day. Transferring as soon as possible 😭
i just started doing this but flex shifts, it's wonderful as an introvert, u might as well be on a deserted island, 3.5 hr shift, doing it for 10+ hrs as full time though, oooof. Once u get used to it ur body just does it's thing and goes into robot mode, then you'll make rate easy. Coming where i was from in an SDD warehouse in dispatch surrounded by 100 people making noise and talking this is heaven.
Knowing I will be preparing customers orders, I am being acknowledge with both positions just in case I am being a picker as I am a lot more knowledgeable with packer. I am hoping the facility I go to is like this from what I need to do.

I thought about applying at Amazon, but after I heard how bad it is to work for Amazon I changed my mind. A person can make the same amount of money working at McDonald's as they can a picker/packer at Amazon and not be rushed to do things
The problem imo is partial automation. We need either full automation or none because humans in tandem with machines aka talkmans or automatic shelves the bar is only going to get higher for humans not the machines. We live in strange times because all of these things are still in their infancy. 10 more years I'd wager it'll all be fully automated most places and the only jobs you'll be able to find are ones operating the machines that do the actual work.
u have to be lucky which warehouse u gonna be workin at bro. the one im at lets you use headphone while u stow and the rate is 140 which is slow as sht compared to the bigger warehouse rate of 250-300+ its borin easy money and lot of vto

I looked up at the monitor abd it said 279 then 306 then 312......and then the guy announces that I only did 150 something that hour??!! YEAH THEY ANNOUNCE HOW MANY ITEMS YOU PACK AN HOUR??!!
It will be 1 or 2 days extra. My shift was 7pm-7am (Wed, Thurs, Fri) and if I would get mandatory, I would have to do 5 10hour days. So I would have to come Mon or Tues or sometimes Mon and Tues. They have an app you download on your phone and you have to check it because they add overtime without warning and if you don't come in you catch points like missing a regular scheduled day so you got to stay checking your schedule.
Im with you bro, the bottom row SUCKS, and its always 30lbs dog food bags covering the one little sticker you need so you have to take everything out to get it. Last night was my second shift (training) i was told they want us doing 350 orders/hr on overnight, idk how im ever gonna hit that, i pushed as fast as i could last night and was hitting 215/hr, the problem isnt my speed, its then little things that slow you down, like totes getting hung up, missing items in bin, then you have to scan everything in the bin before you can label it missing. Im never gonna hit 350 with issues like that. What i want to know is what happens if we don’t consistently hit 350, say were doing 250/hr on average, do they fire you for that? If so that’s ridiculous, theres only so much we can do when theres things that impact our pace. I know you no longer work at amazon but any advice would help, thanks brother. Liked & subbed.
I've been working as a picker since September and everything you said was true for me. My first 5 weeks, I went from hitting 180 units per hour to 290 ups. Every week, I'd get checked on because I was so slow. I started feeling like I was just no good and accepted that I'd either quit or be let go. Hated it. One day when my supervisor was checking on me, I was honest with him and asked if there's anyway I can improve. He showed me a couple things that helped me out big time. 1. when picking an item, as you're looking for it in the bin, try and find its barcode so you're ready to scan. That way you're not turning it over searching once you pick it out of the bin. 2. as you're about to scan the item, look at which tote it'll go in. If you position the overhead scanner laser on the lip of the first tote, all you have to do is wave the item there as you're stepping towards the tote it goes in. 3. When it comes to the big boxes on the bottom bins, best thing to do is spin them. The scanner will actually pick up the barcode. 4. As for scanning every item in a bin because the one you're looking for is probably missing, as much as it sucks, there's nothing you can do besides keeping scanning every item. I hope this helps you out like it did for me. If not, my bads. Maybe you can ask your supervisor to help you out better than I could. Good luck!

Now before Covid you had to leave your phone in your car. No headphones, earbuds period!!!(sucks) you walk through metal detectors coming in so they can see if you're bringing in your phone or some other music device. And you walk through leaving so they canake sure you not stealing buds, phones, cameras etc. That you will be picking. I worked there Oct/Nov 2020 and they allowed phones so you could keep on contact with family in case you had a Covid emergency. That why was able to film and we all had one ear bud too. I don't know what it is now but no phones or buds allowed. They say for safety reasons🙄 second they give you a few weeks to get your rhythm, but after that they expect you to pick rate and they come around with laptops and ask why not if you not hitting. Now during peak season which is now. they may depending on your warehouse you can slide through all season if you not hitting but after that I have heard while I was there you could get canned after the season is over. It just depends on your supervisors. Some places more anal than others.

I did this crap for five months and a year later my feet still ain’t right. They push you like a slave, chew you up and spit you out….IJS…make this job very temporary if possible because it’s not worth it physically in the long run. Your gonna walk about 15 miles a day, believe me…

I quit yesterday. I’m not a machine, no one deserves to endure and suffer like this. Make rate! Every 10 seconds or else. I was a packer and sorter - inductor and rebinder, rebinding was the worse. It was a workout every second. My mind was dead before the end of the shift. Only my body left enduring, struggling.

Yes, the light shines in the bin you pick from. And you fill the tote to a certain height, over filling stops the conveyor belt makes an alarm trip. Your trainer will explain all that, no big deal the job is brain less just repetitive and if you're out of shape it will take a toll on your body especially your knees and hands for the picker position.

I had to see for myself so I went looking around on RUclips. Exactly as my daughter describes. She told me they are expecting you to pick 300 an hour after you have been there for a total of four weeks. Well, let's just say she quit. First night. Turnover is high. Word of advice look into the I.T. field. It's a competitive field yes but so is working in a warehouse. You do not need a college degree. Get your certifications. Look around. Ask yourself do you want to make $15 an hour or $80,000 - $100,00 or higher. Prime example lookup blockchain and look up the salary. Now take a look in the mirror and say I know my worth. Yo, keep doing you. But as my daughter says they expect you to do more and at a faster pace. I believe my daughter.
@@donneysimpson8536 I'm going to tell you. You don't have to be savvy, right off the back, you will become knowledgeable and that's what they'll teach you. Most people aren't computer savvy and what I meant is not fast. But they will become knowledgeable in their field by learning and which is savvy as you mentioned the word. But it doesn't have to be the I.T. field but the game is changing which means the technology is changing and so are the benefits and salary. I say find what you enjoy and know your worth.

I bearly have 6 day working Amazon I struggle when it does not want to scan I press unscan I get a tote and scan the box but for some reason it does not change the cart !
You need to be quick or just have a steady rhythm to keep the rate they expect. But it is small things that can slow you down. Like it will be mad shit stuffed in a slot and you need to get a small ass bag with 3 seeds in it or ear rings etc. Stuffed in the back. Or the stowers stuff a box too big for the slot and you struggle to get it out, or unscannable items little shit like that. But yeah it can be done because ppl are doing it. It's just not for me at all. 6 weeks did it for me bro. Lol!
Yep you don't have time for anything else but RATE! No really heavy items nothing you will have trouble lifting. But those stowers stuff some items in those slots. And girl let me tell you! It's a struggle pulling some items out. If you like nice finger nails and cuticles, picking chews all that up. Trust!
Yes those are two different positions. I was hired as a picker and I would switch between picking and counting. Which involves scanning the slots you pick from and verifying the number of items in that pick slot matches the count your scanner shows what's in there. So you will come in as one position and if you want to learn something else you can switch back and forth and I liked that because doing one thing gets boring to me and it breaks up the monotony.
@@CalinaNovella Counters just literally go to bins they're scanners send them to to count how many items are in those particular bins and verify and confirm what you counted
I've been at amazon for a little over 2 months now. I've got my head wrapped around everything for the most part and honestly like working there for the most part. The only thing I wish I could have explained to me without getting scolded is why there is a rule stating "No earbuds on the floor..."I am not trying to be funny/offensive when I say this, but how can you enforce a rule like that, and have deaf employees working the same job on the same floor?
That is a ridiculous rule. As long as you have maybe only one ear bud in (for safety reasons and so you can hear outside of only your music) and you are keeping up to speed, what is the problem? I’d get a very discreet one and do it anyway. If they let found out and let me go, it’s not the job for me. Peace!

Your correct about who couldn’t do that job for $18 an hour. I worked at Amazon but it was the last stop before being shipped out. I left because I never thought I’d get assaulted while I was working but here we are! Management did absolutely nothing about it so I said I don’t need or want this shit, so I left and never went back.
Water spider (for Stow), Stow and pick should only be on a Flex schedule not 10-12+ hours a day 3-4 days a week. Although the benefits are great, those jobs arent healthy for the mind or body. on the flex schedule its good because you can just choose your hours at a base minimum 20 hours a month up to 60 hours a week max. I wouldn't consider those jobs long time careers no more than three months. Altho ive seen people stick to the same job picking or stowing for over a year+.

Can you explain the yellow light flash when a tote is full? At training they mentioned something about pressing the button after it flashes but I couldn't understand what they said.
They you to push that tote. Its a item or items in that particular tote and they are ready to pack and ship it. Your computer screen won't give you anymore picks until that tote is pushed anyway. Push it as soon as possible because it goes against your rate time too. After you push that tote, press the button to be able to continue and get an empty tote in its place asap. That effects time also.
Also when you pack a tote keep items under the lip of the tote because if items above the lip will trip an alarm and stop the line. It will set off an alarm for someone to come and fix that tote.

Yep, I know what you're talking about from my experience as well. They except no excuse.
From what i heard, they will harrass you about the quota but they cant fire you even if you dont meet it.

They don't enforce masks, we don't do covid checks, consistency with discipline sucks, abusive management, HR doesn't exist because corporate wanted to save money, lots on harassment in management, cussing on radios, public embarrassment, poor training, fake paperwork, LOTS of favoritism for performace based raises for pt supervisors from their managers, your title doesn't mean shit in the hub if your in management. Everyone does hourly work even if the union tells you to stop. I can go on and on but 7+ years dealing with the bs, the money isn't worth my sanity and health.

At the beginning is tough you need to prepare your mind and body to work the full 10 hours !!! I started working last week ! Omg my body hurt like crazy my feet everything. But at the same time I love it I want to become fit I also suffer from anxiety, and I noticed after working here my anxiety decreases a lot , I sleep better and I’m able to manage my symptoms !!!!! So I guess is doing good for me mentally 💓💓💓

@@HarlowerayneI feel Amazon sucks. I even delivered packages for them, I lasted 7 months. Overloaded vans, no time for breaks and I delivered in rural areas pissing in bottles, getting bit by customers lose dogs. Then an hour ride back when my route done.

@Donney Simpson I work in a manual FC doing pick, we don't have these robots that bring everything to you. We walk upto 26km a night, up and down the isles in the various libraries. I totally agree though, the worst is when your constantly picking from the low bins A, B then A, B again and again, then to F or H and back again to A & B for items.
It definitely takes a toll on your body mainly your knees and for most people, they have never spent so much time on their knee's as they can & tend to do, in this job.
I guess one thing I see in these robotic warehouses, is you don't tend to suffer like we do, with bins constantly over filled by stow, and having to empty bins to scan all items when you encounter shortages.
Our rates are way less than yours though in our type of FC, with only a few top pickers managing to pick over 1000 items in a single 10hr shift, but it is all dependant on which flow the PA assigns you as to what you can reasonable achieve.
Honestly it’s not that bad ppl have worse jobs and have zero benefits and work more for $8
@@lazycatt287 I can't speak for what happens in the USA, but here in Australia, we have minimum wage and jobs don't normally come with benefits. Wages for warehouse staff range from AUD 27 to 45 per hour. At my FC it's more like AUD$34.90 per hour.
Having said that, our cost of living is much higher than the USA.
I was at a facility that used to be that way but they upgraded and got cherry pickers for everyone to use…I actually thought it was fun driving those things around all day. Better than walking
Hang in there, your FC will go robotic sooner or later. Then you can stay until you reach retirement. I quit in 2020, wasn't for me. I have family and friends that have been at Amazon for years.

Easy?? They want you doing it 10 second s and under 200 an hour. Scanning mostly slows you down. Big items putting stuff back setting up your carts moving your carts climbing up and down the ladder, and people coming and asking what do you think is slowing you down it's slave work. If he ever returned to Amazon he get a position like a cousin of ours. Not sure of the title, but all she does all day is unclogged stuck boxes or totes on the conveyor belt. No more sore muscles and the easiest job from what I hear.
For entry position Picker is better than stower and packer(unless you’d rather not squat or bend regularly, then packer is better).

This facility has the steps too. You can slide them over when you want to reach the back of the top slots. I used those steps at times, just not in this video I didnt need them

Im working at amazon as packer and now they trained me into picker, i wish we have that one too because when i pick i have to walk 5 minutes and can't even use bathroom coz it's pretty far and i have to walk for 10 hrs a day.

Turn over is high on top of the fact that this is a fireable offense which I just learned recently… any picture/ video in most of the warehouse is, SO just be careful all of you current and future amazon employees! i just started doing this but flex shifts, it's wonderful as an introvert, u might as well be on a deserted island, 3.5 hr shift, doing it for 10+ hrs as full time though, oooof. Once u get used to it ur body just does it's thing and goes into robot mode, then you'll make rate easy. Coming where i was from in an SDD warehouse in dispatch surrounded by 100 people making noise and talking this is heaven.
Knowing I will be preparing customers orders, I am being acknowledge with both positions just in case I am being a picker as I am a lot more knowledgeable with packer. I am hoping the facility I go to is like this from what I need to do.

I thought about applying at Amazon, but after I heard how bad it is to work for Amazon I changed my mind. A person can make the same amount of money working at McDonald's as they can a picker/packer at Amazon and not be rushed to do things
The problem imo is partial automation. We need either full automation or none because humans in tandem with machines aka talkmans or automatic shelves the bar is only going to get higher for humans not the machines. We live in strange times because all of these things are still in their infancy. 10 more years I'd wager it'll all be fully automated most places and the only jobs you'll be able to find are ones operating the machines that do the actual work.

Hey brother. Is the mandatory over time usually 1 more day a week (5 total) or like another hour or 2 tacked onto each shift?
It will be 1 or 2 days extra. My shift was 7pm-7am (Wed, Thurs, Fri) and if I would get mandatory, I would have to do 5 10hour days. So I would have to come Mon or Tues or sometimes Mon and Tues. They have an app you download on your phone and you have to check it because they add overtime without warning and if you don't come in you catch points like missing a regular scheduled day so you got to stay checking your schedule.

Im with you bro, the bottom row SUCKS, and its always 30lbs dog food bags covering the one little sticker you need so you have to take everything out to get it. Last night was my second shift (training) i was told they want us doing 350 orders/hr on overnight, idk how im ever gonna hit that, i pushed as fast as i could last night and was hitting 215/hr, the problem isnt my speed, its then little things that slow you down, like totes getting hung up, missing items in bin, then you have to scan everything in the bin before you can label it missing. Im never gonna hit 350 with issues like that. What i want to know is what happens if we don’t consistently hit 350, say were doing 250/hr on average, do they fire you for that? If so that’s ridiculous, theres only so much we can do when theres things that impact our pace. I know you no longer work at amazon but any advice would help, thanks brother. Liked & subbed.
I've been working as a picker since September and everything you said was true for me. My first 5 weeks, I went from hitting 180 units per hour to 290 ups. Every week, I'd get checked on because I was so slow. I started feeling like I was just no good and accepted that I'd either quit or be let go. Hated it. One day when my supervisor was checking on me, I was honest with him and asked if there's anyway I can improve. He showed me a couple things that helped me out big time.
1. when picking an item, as you're looking for it in the bin, try and find its barcode so you're ready to scan. That way you're not turning it over searching once you pick it out of the bin.
2. as you're about to scan the item, look at which tote it'll go in. If you position the overhead scanner laser on the lip of the first tote, all you have to do is wave the item there as you're stepping towards the tote it goes in.
3. When it comes to the big boxes on the bottom bins, best thing to do is spin them. The scanner will actually pick up the barcode.
4. As for scanning every item in a bin because the one you're looking for is probably missing, as much as it sucks, there's nothing you can do besides keeping scanning every item.
I hope this helps you out like it did for me. If not, my bads. Maybe you can ask your supervisor to help you out better than I could. Good luck!

Picking tears your fingers up. Because stow has to stuff packages that do not always fit. And you have to work it out of some TIGHT! Spots.

Now before Covid you had to leave your phone in your car. No headphones, earbuds period!!!(sucks) you walk through metal detectors coming in so they can see if you're bringing in your phone or some other music device. And you walk through leaving so they canake sure you not stealing buds, phones, cameras etc. That you will be picking. I worked there Oct/Nov 2020 and they allowed phones so you could keep on contact with family in case you had a Covid emergency. That why was able to film and we all had one ear bud too. I don't know what it is now but no phones or buds allowed. They say for safety reasons🙄 second they give you a few weeks to get your rhythm, but after that they expect you to pick rate and they come around with laptops and ask why not if you not hitting. Now during peak season which is now. they may depending on your warehouse you can slide through all season if you not hitting but after that I have heard while I was there you could get canned after the season is over. It just depends on your supervisors. Some places more anal than others.

it’s way worse my back kills me everyday from picking i used to stow and it was chill
I quit yesterday. I’m not a machine, no one deserves to endure and suffer like this. Make rate! Every 10 seconds or else. I was a packer and sorter - inductor and rebinder, rebinding was the worse. It was a workout every second. My mind was dead before the end of the shift. Only my body left enduring, struggling.

Yes, the light shines in the bin you pick from. And you fill the tote to a certain height, over filling stops the conveyor belt makes an alarm trip. Your trainer will explain all that, no big deal the job is brain less just repetitive and if you're out of shape it will take a toll on your body especially your knees and hands for the picker position.

I had to see for myself so I went looking around on RUclips. Exactly as my daughter describes. She told me they are expecting you to pick 300 an hour after you have been there for a total of four weeks. Well, let's just say she quit. First night. Turnover is high. Word of advice look into the I.T. field. It's a competitive field yes but so is working in a warehouse. You do not need a college degree. Get your certifications. Look around. Ask yourself do you want to make $15 an hour or $80,000 - $100,00 or higher. Prime example lookup blockchain and look up the salary. Now take a look in the mirror and say I know my worth. Yo, keep doing you. But as my daughter says they expect you to do more and at a faster pace. I believe my daughter.

But it doesn't have to be the I.T. field but the game is changing which means the technology is changing and so are the benefits and salary. I say find what you enjoy and know your worth.

You need to be quick or just have a steady rhythm to keep the rate they expect. But it is small things that can slow you down. Like it will be mad shit stuffed in a slot and you need to get a small ass bag with 3 seeds in it or ear rings etc. Stuffed in the back. Or the stowers stuff a box too big for the slot and you struggle to get it out, or unscannable items little shit like that. But yeah it can be done because ppl are doing it. It's just not for me at all. 6 weeks did it for me bro. Lol!

Yes those are two different positions. I was hired as a picker and I would switch between picking and counting. Which involves scanning the slots you pick from and verifying the number of items in that pick slot matches the count your scanner shows what's in there. So you will come in as one position and if you want to learn something else you can switch back and forth and I liked that because doing one thing gets boring to me and it breaks up the monotony.

@@CalinaNovella Counters just literally go to bins they're scanners send them to to count how many items are in those particular bins and verify and confirm what you counted

I've been at amazon for a little over 2 months now. I've got my head wrapped around everything for the most part and honestly like working there for the most part. The only thing I wish I could have explained to me without getting scolded is why there is a rule stating "No earbuds on the floor..."I am not trying to be funny/offensive when I say this, but how can you enforce a rule like that, and have deaf employees working the same job on the same floor?
That is a ridiculous rule. As long as you have maybe only one ear bud in (for safety reasons and so you can hear outside of only your music) and you are keeping up to speed, what is the problem? I’d get a very discreet one and do it anyway. If they let found out and let me go, it’s not the job for me. Peace!
Yeah they say it's about safety. But we would sneek anyway and have one in on the low.

Your correct about who couldn’t do that job for $18 an hour. I worked at Amazon but it was the last stop before being shipped out. I left because I never thought I’d get assaulted while I was working but here we are! Management did absolutely nothing about it so I said I don’t need or want this shit, so I left and never went back.
Water spider (for Stow), Stow and pick should only be on a Flex schedule not 10-12+ hours a day 3-4 days a week. Although the benefits are great, those jobs arent healthy for the mind or body. on the flex schedule its good because you can just choose your hours at a base minimum 20 hours a month up to 60 hours a week max. I wouldn't consider those jobs long time careers no more than three months. Altho ive seen people stick to the same job picking or stowing for over a year+.

Naw, you just have to find your rhythm. You either have it or not, that's all I can tell you.
I wish I did have some tips for you to make it easier.
Standing kills me
Well dont apply here then. Because unless your loading or unloading or water spider etc. Every other job in the fulfillment center is standing.

Doing that for hours on end can't be easy. How do you manage to keep your rate up all shift?

Can you explain the yellow light flash when a tote is full? At training they mentioned something about pressing the button after it flashes but I couldn't understand what they said.
They you to push that tote. Its a item or items in that particular tote and they are ready to pack and ship it. Your computer screen won't give you anymore picks until that tote is pushed anyway. Push it as soon as possible because it goes against your rate time too. After you push that tote, press the button to be able to continue and get an empty tote in its place asap. That effects time also.
Also when you pack a tote keep items under the lip of the tote because if items above the lip will trip an alarm and stop the line. It will set off an alarm for someone to come and fix that tote.
