- Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today we are looking at an epic piston powered walking mech with mounted spuds for destroying all sorts of farmbots! This mech is a perfect scout vehicle that uses very little fuel and packs quite a punch!

I have a suggestion for the walker. Make a "aiming" spud gun in the centre of the other spud guns that would be controlled by a button, but would only shoot once each press, so you can aim your shots without wasting as much ammo.

Kan, I think you need some sort of crosshair on your cabin front, otherwise your mech is perfect. Shame it can’t fire missile and don’t have jet pack, with makes me wonder ( could you use reverse vacuum to lob gas cans ? ) and jet pack with suspension glitch it should be balanced right ?
It would be easier make gun static to cabin and aim up/down with cabin axis instead.
@@cyphi474 It seems like the gun already is fixed to the rotation of the cabin (apart from the 180 degree flip), but because the 1st person view isn't locked to the vehicle, the crosshair doesn't work as an aiming indicator.
A centered piece of coloured glass or maybe even netting or some other transparent block might prove really helpful.

@@zaralass5274 Thats not going to help much, because head movement isnt fixed aswell. WW I planes used pipe with two wire crosshairs on each end. If pilot aligned his head position so both crosshairs in his view were aligned, he was looking straight. That could work here too, it would be more accurate.
This walker is AMAZING. Fighting robots just might get a whole lot more fun for me in the future.
omg kAN that's just amazing :D it looks like the AT-ATs from Star Wars. maybe you can make a crosshair or iron sights for it on the cockpit? if it doesnt work it would provide more protection. btw you havent even got the spudling gun. if you wanna chew through spuds in no time try smacking 4 of those bad boys on this walker :D

Brilliant walker. Bring it into the warehouse!!! You have to make a basket on the back for extra player to shoot manually from the back.

Nothing respawns in warehouses, once you're done that's it. Also this is amazing, I'm inspired to build a walker suited for doing warehouses now.
Put drills/saws on the sides to keep farm bots away
Ideas for upgrades of the chicken mech:
1. Add a second firing mode, that shoots slower / just one spudgun so that you don't waste a ton of spuds when ranging shots
2. Add extendable concrete pegs to the legs, so that you can switch to "turbo mode" and travel faster or retract them for better manouverability (as you have it now with those pipe pieces)
3. Add some sort of aiming aid / iron sights to use from first person view

Great vid Kan, I made something very similar just for the warehouse when I found out you could take creations into the elevator/warehouse but I put suspension on the legs because I kept having problems it the office area with all the junk on the floor (like you did) and the suspension really helps, mine had 2 turrets on either side that converged to the middle and I built a reticle/crosshair to help me aim at the tapebots and to my amazement it did extremely well once I fine tuned the aiming setup also I setup a switchable burst fire and a single shot(actually shoots 2 at once so I'm sure to kill) I dont waste ammo., Looking forward to seeing the evolution of yours mate, Cheers 🍻

That is amazing. I once saw a guy on reddit who made a mini tank. What would be cool is if you made a vehicle that had a driver with his gun and another gunner on a turret or managing other guns so that the driver doesn't need to worry as much about aiming with co-op.
Could you potentially come up with like a walking weapon platform with NO glitches? I've been trying it out myself but I absolutely stink with the logic stuff.

You could make this turn without a suspension glitch by sequencing the legs differently (1 at a time for example) however it'd take a bit more logic to do and it'd be a bit bulkier.
@kAN Gaming, could you do a tutorial video on how to make different walker types? I honestly don't think I've seen anything like that for Scrap Mechanic before, and it would be absolutely lovely to see one from you as you explain things quite well.

The warehouses actually respawn, you just have to kill all of the tapebots inside of it. Once you did that and leave the warehouse, it'll require you to reinsert a key
So I must have missed a tapebot somewhere then...
@@kANGaming they usually hang out in bathrooms and other small rooms where you won't look as quick as other rooms, try those
Theres also some other requirement, not sure if its 'player has not entered warehouse for x days' or 'player has no come close to warehouse for x days' but its something like that, dunno the amount of days but if you just check a warehouse each day it wont reset.
If you use some straight pipe pieces, you could probably make a rudimentary ironsight to aim the spud guns
I cant say that this is what I expected when I commented a mech suit. Also you should add arms and make it connected to the cab with more spud guns on each arm.
Definitely add some sights for it, one spud gun in the direct middle for long range, and possibly saw blades on the sides

Do a little arm with shield of tier 3 metal for protection ! You can put the shield on pistons and bearings for moving the shield where you want to protect your little chicken
Another cool design for the turret is putting the guns on a fast rotating wheel, and use blocks and sensors to activate the spud guns

Watching this, maybe just the camera views, I’m reminded mostly of Robocop 2. Except for that tripping when he first got to the warehouse, reminded me of ED209 and stairs.
You should put a chest on the walker for extra inventory space, and could you use or gates to make multiple firing modes? You have the auto mode then you can have a single shot mode using two circuits that connect to an or gate then the or gate feeds into the spud gun. You could also make a trailer for the walker if you need to travel larger distances quicker without fighting the suspension glitch while going up terrain.
Nice walking idea. I was thinking of more of a spider kind of thing 2 pair of legs moving on each side to allow for normal turning and have the "feet" have suspension to allow for uneven terrain.
I would suggest that you mount a piece of glass or some other kind of see through block in front of the driver to act as a targeting reticle because the player head will move independent of the driver seat.

The sound of 4 spud guns firing 160 spuds per second is satisfying
That is a really good design.
I would make it not so tall and use 5 guns in a line to make aiming easier.
Also add a antenna in front of the seat to use as a cross to aim better.
That 1-swipe problem you ran into, I see a very easy solution, and it might help aiming, too: install... A PROBOSCIS!!!!

Watching Kan build stuff is like a slightly simplified mumbo jumbo Redstone contraption.

I suggest making that turret system and slap it on the back of the scout car for some co-op action!
There should definitely be a low ammo usage mode. Like an and gate that connects to 2 or 3 of the guns keeping them from firing when not active.
GENIUS, I would say its more of a duck than a chicken because scrap has a rubber duckie, haha. I love this so much and would love a tutorial or a smaller version for the inside of warehouses, looking forward to see what you come up with !
Suggestion, add a central spud gun that fires maybe 1 every 10 ticks, fires maybe 4-5 shots before then engaging the quad shot. Use those first few shots as a range/tracer/targeting setup, If you release the trigger it resets to the beginning of that cycle so the next attempt still only fires the central slow. I don't know the logic to make it work but im sure you can figure it out, so you don't waste a bunch of shots figuring out your aim, and you might take out the smaller bots w/o it switching into the quad.

Warehouse keys are the last remaining indestructible blocks that can be obtained without cheats. If you take this walker through some burning forest areas to farm the big reds there, you can use their keys as armor

The duck walker thing from Noob vs Pro has evolved!
In order to be more efficient with the potato's. You should mount a single spudgun and hook that up to a system as a sort of aim /potato laser sight. Then you wont waste ammo on linimg your shots.

I think the only downside of the Doom Duck to kill Boss-bots is that the recoil from the Spud Anihilator tilts your craft down. So your aim goes off. Haha

kAN you are a legend... i was trying to make a turret for base defense.. you help me so much I am new to the game and find your videos so helpful..i do need to play them at 1/2 speed lol... you had me rolling when you battled the first big red... keep up the great vids... maybe you can show this build concept on a tower... i was playing with a sight system made out of pipe pieces to help aim... you sir are amazing... i definitely am going to support this channel
if you use strict follow camera and line yourself up straight with the mech you can use the crosshairs to aim

Seeing that thing is the warehouse was phenomenal.
I'd really like to see a flushed out mech made for it.
You could put some high grip block (like a cactus) on the tip of each feet above floor level , and put them on a piston or a bearing to push it down activating a faster high grip mode ,for long and straight distances
Of what I've heard werehouses respawn after 30 ingame days. And you will need a new key to open it again. :)

Use wheels on sideways bearings so that you have movement grip and can steer with free floating bearings
This is the best thing I've seen on scrap mechanic. Could you drop it one block, take away the turret flip option, and put a wheel in the middle that hits the ground when the vertical pistons are closed to give it that extra up hill thrust?

HOLY MOLEY THIS IS BETTER THAN SCRAPMANS MINIGUN THIS IS DEATH. Also put a windshield on the cockpit so you can take it in to the warehouse and obliterate it and the windshield will block the tape coming at you. Edit: I made this comment before u did that lol but try windshields
You should definitely put something around the front window/opening to use for targeting, like a fake crosshair, or at least something to focus your actual crosshair on to help with aiming. That aside, this is absolutely sick.
In the warehouse it kinda felt like DooM, the old one.
Also maybe somehow add something like a gun sight. Maybe adding a pipe piece on the front, right behind a handle
I guess you can shrink it a bit, place quad spud to the left or right of the cabin, cabin should be much lower to the ground and what about high friction blocks on pipe legs ends ? Or maybe wheels ? Clearing out fresh warehouse with this will be something indeed, looking forward to “Farm Bot DESTROYER 3000”

Imagine being a tape bot just chilling in a warehouse and a guy in a mech just comes in and obliterates you
straifing guns on the sides, or ones that lower to use in tight areas; and raise for range, might help the over shooting.
I have a suggestion that you add an armored glass block on the vehicle that will serve as your sight when your going to shoot so you will have less time to line your shots
I think it is possible to put a chest on the walker that using vacuum pipes refills the spud containers. If it works you could increase the capacity by a lot
