This isnt nearly as bad as he's making it sound here, but I get its definitely overpriced. Looks way better/higher quality than the Boomco one, with better shell sculpt. Also is full auto motorized and can be used one-handed. Was honestly hoping for a Halo Battle Rifle. Aliens Pulse Rifle is still the best looking LMTD blaster by far.

I honestly feel like it didn't need to be electronic, since if you take it to a con you're going to be daintly carrying that 100dollar piece all day with heavy batteries inside it if you plan on having a cosplay nerf war or something.
the boomco one on the other hand, while it takes a bit of work with the needles and paint the lighting works better and it's muchless stressful and lighter to carry around. won't feel bad about beating it up and actually using it in a cosplay nerf war since it isn't way over priced...it's also a springer and has slamfire.
i guess its a choice between how much work or money you're willing to put into cosplay.

Honestly, I don’t really care if it’s bad, it looks sick, it’s at least functional (I hope) and it’s the needler. The needler is so cool and wacky and honestly, I would use it.
Edit: Another thing for me is I don’t really like the new ammo, mostly because NONE of them are available in my country, so darts are the best option, and I don’t care that it’s a speedswarm since I only Nerf casually and it’s a cool looking thing that at least functions.

However, one thing I hate is that it’s SO expensive, as I’m on a budget so an expensive blaster is not something I’d want to buy.

This is one of the few blasters where long darts actually make sense based on what it shoots in the game. Plus if your Elite dart happens to fishtail in the direction of a moving player it will feel like homing ammo from the game😉

Why isn't it shooting hyper? Literally, perfect design for a hyper gun but shoots darts for reasons.

The elite darts look like needles it fits.
Because in 5ish years once Dartzone makes their own hyper comparable line they will stop making those rounds, where as they will make elite darts in purpatuity.
It's a prop piece, it's meant for looks and accuracy, so the darts fit

I mean, everyone and their dog knows that elites have categorically the absolute worst price to performance ratio of any half inch foam dart on the market. It's just pitiful how out of touch they are with reality. They're like master lock, but without the cheap part.
@@themagitechie9955 However, they're backwards compatible to the lion's share of foam blasters on the market, and while they're perhaps not the most effective for the high end of the hobby there are comparatively very few people in Nerf's market that are in it for the specs.
A hopper fed Plasma Rifle or something would be pretty sick, the actual Plasma Rifle in accurate size is gigantic, you could totally fit a hopper in the top compartment of the thing.
Honestly thought they should’ve done the battle rifle, would’ve been way easier money in that we (the community) probably would’ve been easier to satisfy.

Totally understand all the issues with this one but I’ll probably end up getting it because I’m a big halo fan and this looks pretty realistic compared to any other options.
I'm just sitting here thinking a Plasma Rifle would be perfect for a Rival or Hyper flywheel hopper blaster.
I know hasbro cheaps the hell out on these things and doesn't make them to their full potential, but imagine if they gave it a "simulated overheat" feature, where as you fired the blaster the heat gauge on the side would build up, and if it reached full the little fins would pop out and it'd play the in-game overheat sound, and wouldn't allow you to fire until it cooled down. Would be an absolutely awesome feature! (...that should probably be toggled via a switch, but who'd bring it to a nerf war?)
honestly i’m just happy this even exist. halo is one of my all time favorite games and my favorite game series. i hope and pray they do a halo ce magnum and the old halo shot gun design

I'm just happy to get something I can mod to the point it isnt halo. Because, as a modder, I have no intention of leaving this the way I bought it and as far as it being a "halo" dart blaster I'll just get a boomco one if I want to.

It's a speedswarm, it's going to be just as hard to do any actual blaster mods to make it any better, literally the only thing you could do is shell mods, which is also stupid because you could literally just buy a resold speedswarm for like 50 bucks and do the same shell mods, and that's stupid too because the speedswarm is considered rare and a collector's item, this literally only appeals to nerd who will never take it out of the box or just display it and cosplayers, even though there are better options for both
The thing is... it does it's job. It looks the part, sounds the part, probably will feel the part. If you're someone willing to burn 100+ dollars without a second thought then this is for you. For everyone else on the face of the planet from cosplayers, halo fans and nerf hobbyists there is literally no reason to buy it lol.

As a Halo Fan A dope display that is also functional is really cool to me. I'm real firearms gun nut and would never think that I'd ever buy another nerf gun since I was quite young. But having this change... changed the game a bit and I believe is making the hobbie more expansive. Cause I'm pretty hooked on this one and can't wait to see and hope for more Limited Collaborations they do together.

I’ve got 2 of these now for duel wielding and I can say the finished product is way better than the rough draft they first displayed. It’s a good blaster and the lights look 100x better on the finished product.
Completely missing the point if you're mad about this. It's a limited edition blaster meant as a collectible.

I'd definitely prefer this over the boomco tbh. boomco blasters just didn't look good out of the box. sure, that can be fixed, but that is a lot of time and effort painting and buying after market parts. sometimes I appreciate an out of the box display piece like the Neutrona Wand. Is it over priced? yes. so if price matters to someone then yeah, get the boomco. but stuff like the correct number of needles matters to me for display. and those $13 halloween ones are tiny and feels absolutely awful to hold.
in the end I look at it like this, it would cost me more in time and effort to scratch build a display piece that nice. could I start with a boomco, sure, but there is a lot I'd want to see fixed, to the point of probably making it nonfunctional. now it may sound like I want a accurate prop more than anything else and then why even bother having it be nerf, but having props that are accurate AND do something is the best. having it shoot darts just adds to the feeling. so yes, as a nerf blaster, I'll grant you this thing isn't impressive or useful and way over priced, but it's a pretty cool display piece that I will be taking out the horrendous box to show off and I'll take it down and fire off some darts from time to time and that's all I really need or want out of it.
this is also ignoring that the boomco is based on the halo 5 needler which I think is the worst looking one
100% agree. The shitty $13 Halloween ones are too small and cheap, and the NECA replica out there is too big and expensive. So that mainly leaves the BoomCo one and this one, since they both fit in the middle between size/price and actually fire darts as a bonus. And between those 2, this Nerf one is way better looking/higher quality, and based of the better Halo Infinite version.
Walcom will of course review this as a Nerf Blaster first and foremost, which makes sense since that's his area of interest. But with prop blasters like this where fandoms collide (Nerf fans and Halo fans in this case), he needs to remember that these blasters have different target markets and uses.
They should have made it have purple hyper rounds and have the crystals as the hoopers so you would load them in and they would go down like they did in the game.

I think if I were a big Halo fan and it were something I really wanted then I’d say go for it. Nothing wrong with that. Just because one person doesn’t like it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t in turn get it. To each their own.
I hope someone 3D prints an adapter for it to take dart chain links. That would solve the low ammo capacity

As a modern Halo fan, they could’ve done the Battle Rifle, The Sniper Rifle, the new Stalker Rifle, The Heatwave, or the Skewer, installed we got the needler
Because it's not for little kids that started playing Halo last year, it's for REAL Halo fans who've actually BEEN PLAYING the game since "Halo" on the Xbox...and I guess PC...
here is what they should have done. TYhe needles on top should have been hyper ball containers that feed into it. Then as you fire the balls would leave the containers making it look like the needles were shrinking.

I think it would be cool if the did the rocket launcher from halo but it shot nerf mega XLARGE rounds. Feels like it would be a match made in heaven
If I were to redesign it I'd make small hyper clips/ shells that look like the needles and then the front one loads downwards into a flywheel cage these would hold about 4-5 hyper each and you would have to manually change them out though

The last time nerf ever made me happy is when Rival first dropped and the hopper system. My first blaster was a recon and I hate to see Nerf be this lazy. I swear the must have fired all of the ideas team because there's really nothing new here it's just a cash cow and they know it.

They should make a plasma pistol that has a jolt integrated as the weak shot and a mega xl dart that uses a full 12g co2 cartridge for the oompf😏
I would say the blaster isn't even worth 50 dollars need has just been putting out either garbage or okay blasters that have already been outshined

Mach 100 guts, rush 40 hopper size, a neon pink/purple "special edition" hyper ball, and boom. Literally all the issues get solved
You know what's even worse about the fact that this blaster doesn't fire Hyper or some other new ammo type? NERF HAVE MADE PROP-CLASS BLASTERS THAT FIRE AMMO OTHER THAN ELITE DARTS BEFORE. CASE IN POINT: THE ENTIRE OVERWATCH LINE. THOSE ALL FIRED RIVAL.

I just realised it has the same general shape as the sideswipe. Maybe if they used the top section for motors and the beefy bottom for more rounds, they could have turned it into a primary style no side hop thing.

I am actually excited vor the needler, but not to play with it but to put it into an display to show it. (and I am not gonna use the lighting effects)
Hasbro has for sure lost my confidence it's just a boomco knockoff with cheap hasbro internals should have done a a better unsc rifle like the og assault rifle

The snap fire 8 barely fires like 20ft lucky (I have one and it only goes 5). I’m glad it has better internals than that tbh

Hi walcom I agree with your idea they should have made it into a full auto Hopper fed blaster that fire's glow in the purple hyper rounds or make the hyper rounds a translucent purple color that when the light hits it makes it looks like actually firing little purple needles beams from the game
Now the question is will someone go to the effort to design a 3d print kit to transform the internals into a rival or hyper flyhweeler? because honestly trying to cut out the internals and stick a cage in there would be a pain in the but since that entire front part is a clear 10 shot turret. Hopefully someone will do that and they put out a cheaper one like they did with the mando blaster and I can get it for like $50 and throw in a kit have what it should have been in the first place.

After getting the gun, I can just say you need to give it a chance. The only bad thing about this gun is the slow rate of fire but everything else is of very good quality. Well worth the $100
