      Longer construction to match the show, over compensate a little on the internals a bit (maybe make it a MEGA blaster instead to push the power potential up so it's not literally outclassed by a 3$ jolt), increase the volume of the speaker quite considerably and add in MANY more sound bites (make it something like the CSM releases Bandai where it can include actor quotes and music from the show), re-design the packaging so the damned darts don't require you to literally destroy the box to obtain them, change darts to be glow in the dark darts, and add UV lights to the blaster to charge said darts. I actually had a whole section in the video talking about it, but cut it out.

The writing was on the wall when it launched. I'll forgive the nearly entire calendar year of wait time but I can't forgive what was at the end of that hype.

    $120 for a 1:1 scale Mandalorian cosplay blaster prop!? Hasbro believes... this IS the way.
    This is ultimately a Star Wars convention fanboy prop that also... kinda fires one dart as a time.
    NO ONE brings this MASSIVE, pricey, breach loading, single shot blaster to a Nerf battle expecting to enjoy the experience beyond the first few shots. And unless it has something solid like an aluminum rod or something running the length of it, it's gonna get accidentally snapped in half during a nerf match.

  • @darklordofsword

    I'm not going to defend how bad this thing is. You're right, it's a disgrace.
    I am, however, going to note two criticisms that I think are *slightly* unjustified;
    1. The grey darts. In the show, this rifle doesn't fire visible bolts, hence no glo-darts. The grey darts are supposed to look like the cartridges the character loads into the rifle.
    2. The ergonomics on the show prop are also awful. That one is on George Lucas and the art team behind the "Tale of the Faithful Wookie" short, not Hasbro's design department per-se.

    the only GOOD thing I think that it could do is that to turn the breech lever into an air pump, make sure theres an actual barrel instead of dead space, and turn it into a cool sniper rifle. but then again, a single dart air blaster is hella dangerous if you aren't careful, and given how thin this thing is, not even sure if it could do that well!

I mean, come on Nerf, Dart Zone and Adventure Force are beating you in your own game with blasters that are way more powerful and reliable to use.

    • @thanhavictus
      @thanhavictus 2 года назад +1

      Except that's not true and they aren't beating nerf in the market. If performance was purely the merit criteria, then Buzzbee, which has been beating nerf for more than half a decade, would be on top. But it isn't. You're looking at the market the wrong way. People buy Nerf for the novelty. Performance practically doesn't matter, and we are not the market majority by a long shot.

  • @ShinKyuubi
    @ShinKyuubi 2 года назад +4

    Oof..still waiting on mine, I knew it was just gonna be a collectable for me anyway so I'm not TOO rankled by the performance..hell considering it's a tie-in prop blaster the fact it gets above the low 50's in FPS with a faux barrel that long is surprising. My Gamestop hasn't got them in yet even though they've released and I preordered this thing. Thing that pisses me off though is it took so long for this thing to release they made a consumer version that's half the price, doesn't have the sound or single light and isn't as painted as this one..probably buy that one if I can get my hands on it and try to mod it for some better performance. The lack of light other than the scope is in line with the actual blaster in series..it's not a fancy flashing weapon, it disintegrates targets on contact once the projectile leaves the barrel, even the sound only happening when you close the breech is in line with the scene from the show..it's a prop blaster plain and simple..meant to look good and sound like the thing from the show..and since it's got the Star Wars name tacked on, and The Mandalorian being the big thing for Star Wars right now they can jack up that price for very little added on stuff..honestly I think at LEAST $20 of the price comes from the packaging alone.

  • @toeb7570
    @toeb7570 2 года назад +2

    And its even more in Australia. There was so much potential for this, it was free real-estate. They could've at least made it look and feel nice and attempt to brass barrel it to make up for the 1 dart shot, even then though the ergonomics are disgusting.

  • @GinnyFan765
    @GinnyFan765 2 года назад +5

    As far as it being one shot as a detriment: that’s how it works in the show. He loads a cartridge the same way as you do in this toy and fires one shot per cartridge. So honestly for me that’s a plus.
    This is definitely more for a fan of the series, than for a Nerf fan.
