For those of you who didn't see my channel post, I've been away because of an eye surgery. It's still unsightly, hence the sunglasses. Also, the ‘flickering’ of the pink lights is not visible in person - it only shows up on video.
I LOVE that it's an auto-springer. The Speedswarm and Swarmfire (that its mechanism is based on) were known to have massive mod potential just from thick wiring and LiPos.
and even then, not even sure it was designed to be comfy for the aliens either... You think the covenants care about ergonomics? "It's all about that faith, dude!"
@David janelle eh… the covenant took a lot of artistic liberties with their tech. For example, in one of the novels, I think it was first strike…? They comment on how tall the ceilings on some covenant ships are and how inefficiently they use space. in regards to the weaponry, the sangheili wouldn’t stand for their weapons to be uncomfortable to hold. I mean even from a human standpoint, weapons being comfortable hold has a very, VERY tangible effect on accuracy.
@@ollanius_papyrus80 Well, in case of the needler, the projectiles home-in on their target, so accuracy is somewhat irrelevent. Now that I look more into it, I find that the Halo Reach design makes more sense: there's a single cavity at the back of the handle for the thumb and the handle is curved. No weird bumps... it's almost like if they flipped the handle around... curious.
Hasbro had the luxury on this one, of giving it the correct color scheme without it looking too much like a real weapon. The other Halo licensed blasters so far have been much more "realistic" in terms of looking plausibly like actual guns, so in typical Nerf style, they just made them silly colors so they are clearly toys. Here, being a completely alien design that already includes some pretty crazy colors, Nerf was safe going very true to the original design. The result is stunning.
Hello Coop, I never really know how to write these sorts of messages but I just wanted to say thank you for being apart of my childhood. I’ve been watching your channel since 2013 before unicorn tactical was even a thing yet. seeing your modding videos and how to take apart things was a key factor as to why I am an engineer now. Im now 20 so NERF has slowly been absent from my life over the years but I am so thankful I found your content at such a young age. I wish you all the best in your recovery. Thanks again for everything you do you inspire So many people. Take care Frank, Stay Tacti-Cool ❤
Definetly a top pick for any hardcore Halo fans who'll have it on a shelf/desk constantly on view and as a cosmetic for a cosplay convention. For the money it is absolutely Hasbro's best looking blaster so far. If it works like the Stampede as a full auto spring loaded gun, I understand the slow fire rate. It's probably more helpful for the target audience to feel like they have a larger firing duration than an effective fire rate. I don't know if the animation at 3:24 is yours or Hasbro's but it looks cool. Good to see you back Coop! Glad the surgery went well. If you didn't tell us the sunglasses are due to your eye, I would've kept believing you just wanted to look cool while reviewing a cool blaster.
Yeah I couldn’t be happier with it, and display mode having a two hour auto shutoff is perfect. Didn’t know I wanted a sleep timer on a video game prop until now.
Dam, the needler looks huge (compared to my boomco one) Also the needlers internals are based off the rebeal power bell and dart tag swarmfire/speedswarm (they look epic when duel wielding)
Hey coop, great to have you back. This blaster is quite cool. Remember, if ever need any time off again for any reasons, don’t stress, we’ll all support you.
I preordered this last year. I’m glad you did this review. I’m excited, but it was a tad smaller than I figured, and that grip is gonna be annoying for my wide hand. Oh well. Still gonna love it
Don't worry about the size, Coop is actually a large human, I specifically recall seeing the Nailbiter in stores after his review and just realizing how big his hands are, he makes large blasters look small.
Good to see you back Coop ! Another detailed, straight to the point and yet entertaining review : kudos ! And this one deserves special praise for its finely measured to-buy-or-not-to-buy conclusion : not an easy blaster to rate, and you needled it !
Epic needler, the reason you might have disliked the bottom part of the grip is you need to put your index finger through the hole in the grip and pull the trigger with your middle finger as that is how it is held by Spartans and elites in game
For some reason I read your as bean-ged instead of binged. Anyway, I actually didn't notice that he was gone that much until I looked at the comments and realized 'oh yeah, he has been missing'
seeing the success of the assault rifle and the needler, i hope nerf collabs more to give us more halo nerf blasters, i.e classic magnum, classic shotgun, battle rifle, etc
This is literally everything I want out of a blaster, I bet you could get it to fire faster if it was modded and now I have an amazing looking prop with no diy and its fully functional
It looks great. The ammo counter is a really sweet feature. My only nitpick would be that it still look a bit too plastic toy for display purpose. A little paint job would probably help a lot in that case.
In lore the needles of the needler are shards of an explosive crystal called BLAMITE and the reload animation in combat evolved emphasizes this with chief loading a purple crystal into the top of the needler with the shards popping up out of the top of the weapon
Damn Coop we missed you, I hope everything went alright with that hurricane you encountered. And also YOUR BACK AGAIN WITH THE SUNGLASSES LIKE ON YOUR OLD VIDEOS!!!!
@@michau_z_dziczygaming2069 Yeah, I read his post. By eye protection, I meant eye protection post-operation, to prevent further damage. I guess that's a thing?
Nerf finally made another auto springer! I've waited... when did the Stampede come out? 2010?! Well, better late than never! Looks amazing. Glad Coop is back too.
That blaster looks SO COOL! Happy to see you back. and happy to see such a well thought out and game faithful design with the bendy needles, and the revolving barrel.
Thank you for your honest, and very accurate personal opinion. In my case, I just like the design aesthetic, so it was a very easy purchase. Not a Halo fan/player. As for the price, yeah $100 is definitely more than they needed to charge for it, but Hasbro has learned that people would pay whatever they ask for if items are popular (entire HasLabs is making them millions before anything goes into production = aka risk free). This nerf gun started as a pre order at a $100 mark, and is currently being offered by scalpers $200. So be wary when shopping for it.
Welcome back Coop! Glad to see the eye surgery went well! We missed you! Alright, to the meat and potatoes of this comment, and it’s something I think we all thought while watching this: this is what we wanted out of the Overwatch line. We wanted game-accurate weapons that had fun light-up gimmicks and display options. We didn’t want kid-ified “guns” that look like you generated them in Dall-E mini. If there is a comparison to draw, weirdly enough it would be Mattel’s Hammond collection of Jurassic Park figures. Yes, they’re a bit pricy, but they’re great display pieces with excellent personality. It’s good to see Hasbro making more active efforts to appeal to an older generation of gamers
I don't normaly buy display peices but this hits home. I only wish they did put some sort of higher fire rate to match the actual guns but I get that's hard and I don't plan on firing it but would be cool to have
