I have sage growing, I learned about it reducing menopauses' symptoms, I started drinking sage tea and my night time hot flashes have been reduced, instead of waking up with 5 flashes I am reduced to 2 times so far, amazing!!
So proud you shared all these sage benefits. I have 2 large sage bushes, and have dehydrated enough for "dressing" for the rest of my life. Was going to have my husband dig up one to make room for other herbs I don't currently have, now with all these benefits you have shared. I definitely need to keep them both, thank you so much, blessings
I harvested and dried sage yesterday . I use it for a poultice for varicosities and find it quite soothing. I do use the leaves in tea and dishes. Very flavorful and nutritious. Be careful ,though, because as with all herbs too much of a good thing can be toxic. As sage ages as a plant it will become quite woody. It is easy to propagate and makes a beautiful wreath to pick at in the winter months. I have 40+ years of researching, growing and using herbs. Sage is a favorite. Great video.
Wow I have never used sage and after watching your video today it is like a treasure hunt. I have had a bladder problem since in my 20s so this is like the treasure, and I just could not see it! Now I see it. Thank you very much for this, I will add sage to my herbal plants to help my problem! ❤🙏
Wonderful video ! You are so right about Sage doing well in partial shade. Last year we trimmed 1 of our Weeping Cherries way up. I noticed one of my Sage plants that was being partially shaded by it was the most healthy & beautiful Sage plant I had. I didn't even think about the fact that now it was getting a lot more sun, & a few days later it was totally dead !
Hi Heidi, This was fascinating. I have one sage plant in my garden and it is under an weeping yaupon tree and only gets morning sun so I think that is why it is doing well. I was so happy to learn that sage is good for headaches. I get them once and awhile so I will try making a sage tea. And I want to thank you SO much for the book recommendation. I bought Amy’s book when you had recommended it earlier. And you are right!! It is outstanding and it is a MUST for everyone’s herb library!! Love, Mary ❤️😘❤️
We just moved and planning out garden so looking for herb info. I have never really used Sage so impressed to see all the benefits. Will definitely get some seeds started! Thank you for all your hard work!❤️

I should add when I did use sage for grey hair, I made a strong tea and used it as a rinse for my hair after I washed it. I have not used it for a while because I don't really care if I go grey or not now.
WONDERFUL information! Thank you! My sage has really taken off. It’s in a pot so I was afraid it would freeze last wi yet but it’s great. I absolutely love 💗 the smell. Just barely touch it and it fills the air. TFS! Love, hugs and blessings ~The Kid! ♥️
For a few weeks I've been using sage in fresh form or ground and feel better. I don't mind the taste and feel it has helped my energy a lot. T2D leaves you very exhausted and sage has helped me feel much more energetic.
Just wanted to say thank you for making your videos and sharing all this wealth of information. I learned so much from your lovely channel and just bought some of your Red Amaranth seeds from your Etsy shop. I have green Amaranth that I've been growing but not red so I can wait to get em in the ground and see those beautiful dark crimson flowers. I like your pot handle covers you have on Etsy.. I sent a link to my mother to see if she wants them for her new steel pots and pan set. Anyways God bless. Praise Yahweh!
You mentioned essential oils (sage, rosemary and lavender) to rub under your nose for headaches. I have chronic headaches and was wondering how many drops of each oil to use for that. Love watching your videos, I learn so much and have started a vegetable garden and an herb garden a couple months ago. I’m pretty excited for the results because it’s my first garden.
That will be very individual and I never measured by drops. Anyone trying it for the first time should use a carrier oil rather than using straight like I do (also known as "neat"). I was just listening to a podcast (on Rumble) about sage, and came to see what you had to say about it. Thanks, Heidi! Interestingly, the fellow on the podcast went into the history of sage being used to help purify water. That's how many teas got started....they felt it was safer to put certain herbs in their water, to make if safe for them to drink. Pretty cool, I thought! :)
Thank you Heidi, for the research on sage and I did not know it had a lot of vitamin K WOW! I sure am going to have to do some research on this. My husband is on Warfarin and he has to be careful with vitamin k. I will have to share this with a friend that has been going though menopause for 18 years.

Yes, you are correct. I had assumed it was the whole form as it is difficult to find information that says specifically one or the other when looking up foods rich in K - they seem to keep it general. K-1 is necessary for health but not likely we are to be deficient in it as it is available in many foods, unlike K-2.
@@RainCountryHomestead I believe the only way to get it from a vegetable is some fermented foods but no way to tell. But any woman who is wanting to have a baby or is pregnant should get plenty k2 especially if it's not her first baby as they believe it's stored in our bodies and used a lot in pregnancy (they know it helps with the soft pallet forming preventing the need for orthodontic expenses and probably braces) from what I've learned it prob helps to form healthy teeth, tooth buds and bones. Sorry this is off topic with sage.

My husband has insisted, and I agree, that I start taking a day off every week to just rest, so I am just now starting to implement that. It will be a hard one for me to do but it is important.
Rain Country so sorry Heidi, it doesn't surprise me you do extremely too much. Try and slow down, it would be much worse with nothing getting done if you get down and can't do anything. Years ago, I felt invincible and was hit with a ton of bricks with health issues, now totally disabled. You never even see it coming, please take care of yourself. I too never sleep, it has gotten to me in past few weeks, I had thought of asking if you knew a herbal remedy. I have tried melatonin and valerian root, didn't work for me. I've done a lil research and kinda scared of using sage officinalis because it says that thujone can be toxic in high amounts. I have a plant of it growing I'm curious on how safe it is to use in teas or consuming in your expertise and how much is to much
You can look up components of nearly every plant and have some site tell you that large quantities can be toxic. You will find the same about kale, horseradish, and much more. While this MAY be true, the question really is, many of the things we are told are unsafe in high quantities are not things that anyone ever consumes in high quantity except maybe kale and with kale, I only see that as a problem if that is all the person is eating. Having a well rounded diet is important. I know people that drink a lot of sage tea and they are very healthy. I cook with sage a lot and we have had no adverse effects. So, I would not worry about it and just give it a try. Now while I personally do not care for it as a tea, I LOVE it as an herb to add to many of the different meals I make and when it comes to adding herbs and spices, I always use what some people may consider a large quantity as it is far more than more would add
We are in 8b but our climate is very different than other 8b. We have mild summers and winters and generally stay cool most of the year except July and August and it rarely gets that hot here
It is worrying sign when body hairs get grey color. It mean there is happen Dna sequence damages. It`s very difficult reverse and need use a lot other herbs!
Some graying is natural and nothing to worry about, it is just our bodies getting older and should be expected. However, not all graying is normal and could be caused from severe stress or other underlying health issues
It´s not normal situation if body not produce anymore melanin, it´s direct sign that inside cell and Dna sequence was happen damages. Be careful and try protect yourself using more traditional herbs and plants, Most important is protect our body. Air pollution, radiation, several toxins and parasites, they all make terrible damages inside our body !
One of the main purposes of my channel is to get people turned more towards herbs and healthy foods and away from Big Pharma. Maybe you have not seen my many other herb related videos or those on how we took ourselves off of 15 years of thyroid medication but I recommend you check it out. Regardless, as I said before, some gray hair IS normal as we age and should not be feared. Even the Bible mentions it as a "crown of glory", yet premature graying or graying quickly can be a sign of other health issues. I am currently 52 years old and despite the 15 year time frame of being on big pharma garbage (we have been off those for 6 or 7 years now) we are both pretty healthy people, some of that because of our choice to grow and consume our own herbs and produce. I use also use herbs for making medicinal tinctures and extracts.
That good hear, stay away from Big Pharma produce and vaccination, we not need they! Nature give all what we need healthy life and even more! I´m learning using ancient traditional herbs and plants they work great me. Try Chaga and make it boiling tea with piece ginger. it´s can refund melanin color back hairs. Two cup daily Chaga tea and after 5-6 months your can see amazing results. Actually you look great your age. All good for future.

What zone are you in I can never get mine to come back also are you planting plants or seeds?
We are in 8b but our climate is very different than other 8b. We have mild summers and winters and generally stay cool most of the year except July and August and it rarely gets that hot here
What is the difference between clary sage and sage?
While they are related, they have a very different flavor and aroma and even differ in their medicinal benefits
Thank you are they both made for your hair?
Maybe a pineapple sage vinegar.

When speaking about Vitamin K you need to let everyone know that it has blood clotting properties. This is not good for those who have blood clotting disorders such as Factor Five Liden.
