I watched this with my brother, and when the movie ended we both collectively looked at each other and asked. WTF did we just watch? The motive for her wanting to destroy the painting made no sense, because she thought it was fake? Ok? It feels kinda weak due to her bombing an airplane, and doing all of this dangerous stuff, just to destroy it. Me and my brother both correctly guessed the character based on her just because she acted weird, and I just don't think the mystery was at all good mainly because of the villain.
I'll be honest, this culprit kinda annoyed me. I'm not against having a female character pretending to be emotionally frail as to throw off the scent, but for a movie like this, it just seemed too easy.
Yet another movie climax where Ran/Conan almost drown. What's up with that? I'm counting This Movie - Ran becomes dead weight after drowning. Conan saved by his balls. 14th Target - Ran snagged underwater Strategy Above the Depths - Ran loses brain cells and goes back for sea trinket as ship sinks Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure - Conan briefly drowns as water submerges ship Private Eye in the Distant Sea - Ran thrown overboard, near death Quarter of Silence - (theoretically main cast aside from Conan would've drowned since the dam broke, but they pull the switcheroo and have Conan buried in snow instead) Judging by the titles, I'm assuming the same will happen in Black Iron Submarine
this movie was kinda of okay for me, it's fun to watch if you're really bored... the thing that i like abt this movie is mostly because of the animation, something about this Movie's animation is really really good esp when it comes to Kaito Kid's scenes, Conan & Kid's interaction were not so bad but yeah the ending and the culprit wasn't really that satisfiying so i was also kinda bummed seeing how the ending went, the ED of this Movie is sooo good tho. ive been watching some movies too lately mostly Kaito Kid or Amuro centered... (this is abit out of context but Amuro's centered movies is actually quite good even tho i believe there's only 2 of em so far, so im looking forward for those review!)

No, OVA's is just 25 min eps. I'm talking about Special 1.5 hour movie. (There is also 2 Special Lupin vs. Detective Conan movies). It would be great if you add those after all movies.@@paulus2126
The culprit for the movie had one of the dumbest motivations I've seen that it significantly reduced my enjoyment for this movie, I know most of the movie villains don't exactly have the most grounded or realistic motivations for their crimes, and that's not always a huge deal, but for this movie, it was just... disappointing?
As much as I love Takeharu Sakurai's scripts, this one was awful. Though I heard the director made massive changes to the story so it might have been better. Though its still a Conan movie so it was fun on first watch.
I will give Sakurai and Shizuno their props, their movies progressively got better. I still think all 3 were not very good films but I acknowledge the improvement
Just to be fair here. Before this movie aired, there is a serious issue during production stage and to solve this problem, director Shizuno decided to change 80% of the original script into this………
If I may quote the great Jackie Chan here, "Whatever you do, do the best you can, because the film live forever. "No, because, you know, that day raining and the actor don't have time". I said "Would you go to every theater to tell the audience?" No! The audience sit in the theater -- "good movie", "bad movie". That's all."
@@paulus2126 I’m not saying that people should forgive the staff and give the movie a good rating after this was revealed, but rather to blame the people who made the decisions that ruined the movie. I have read some behind the scenes of Conan movies so I know who should be blamed the most for the making awful decisions that ruined the movie. But that doesn’t affect my overall ratings for this movie, D rank.

I rlly liked The Darkest Nightmare and my personal favourite was “Zero the Enforcer” because of Rei character is rlly shown and the mystery good.
It was good the first time I watched it, it was enjoyable the second time I watched it, and from the third time onwards it was ruined because the culprit's motive was so weak.
At least the action was enjoyable though
