hello everyone!! thank you so much for all the support and feedback you guys have given me on this video. to address a few concerns: 1) I filmed this video using another iPhone 5s in order to film my own phone so the quality is the same. 2) I will definitely be making video on how I edit in the future so look forward to that. 3) *I'm curious to see what videos you guys would like to see from me because my channel doesn't have any specific focus so I would like some input.* I love you guys so much and thank you for subbing even though my upload schedule is nonexistent and I go on frequent hiatuses without notice
Simplistic Life I’m looking forward to making a channel because you’ve inspired me and I like your editing but I don’t know how you edit and what you use :(
@Ethan Your Fav Snow Wolfe there a cases that u can use so that it does not fall they are a little expensive but they work (I have it so my iPad does not fall)
The very first time I wanted to film overhead without a tripod, the books were the VERY first thing that came to mind. I used the exact stacking method u used and encountered the exact same problems you mentioned in the vid (yes the balance is tricky and they can get in the cameras way) Those people who use minimalist, money saving, creative, fun ways to get around obstacles like these are awesome. keep the style going!
@CodeHurricane Network can you shut the fuck up.. like I just want ppl to enjoy my vids and btw I subed to u :( Why does evryone do that to me lol I only want to help other small youtubers
This is super useful! I've actually been avoiding filming Study with Me videos because of the difficulty of not having a tripod. I'm excited to put these tips into use!
Thank you so much. I’m a young artist and I’ve been trying to find different ways to record without using my shaky hand all the time. This helped a lot and I’m fairly sure I can do most of these. I’m so happy that I found this video. It has truly helped me! Thank you SO much!
I started my RUclips channel some months ago and I’ve been recording my videos with my iPhone but I’ve never thought of using a Music stand, it’s such a clever idea!! Fortunately my brother has it and I must tell you, it works perfectly! Thank you so much for making this video! :)
I just scrolled desperatly around yt to find a way to film my first igtv of me making a bujo spread and you really saved my day! Big thank you to your creativity :D
New SUBSCRIBER!!!! OMGGG IM INLOVED WITH YOUR BACKGROUND MUSIC!! LIKE SINCE THE FIRST KEY OF THAT MUSIC! I ALREADY KNEW IT'S Sometimes by Crush!!! (Gakkum, correct me if I spelt that wrongly)
This was awesome and just what I was looking for! Super simple, creative, and it gets the job done. I plan on making some overhead videos and didn't want to commit to any fancy equipment just yet. Thank you!!
The last tip just made me realise I've got a stand which I used to use for teaching online which is basically the same as the music stand but made from wood and is perfect for the job. Thanks for sharing! :)
You could get a giant cardboard box and cut a hole to see what you are doing on the top and a side hole to put your hands through, then you can safely position the camera without it falling
Just a little positive criticism: The text is disappearing way too fast, I had to stop and go back so many times cause I couldn't read the text completely! I am Dutch, but my English is quite good but even I couldn't read this fast! So I mean well and only to improve your vids, thnx.
lol i actually happen to have the 2nd item thing, i would've never thought of that idea, well actually at some point i would, but anyways this helped a lot and thank you :D
Lol. I just use: LEGO A 0.99 cent store tripod My case (it’s so thicc it can stand up on its side or upright) A cheap old FujiFilm camera I found at GoodWill
Nice tips. I started my channel holding my phone in my hand but now I have a proper set up. So I don’t have to worry any more. I’m here cos RUclips placed this on my recommendations.
1:16.... That book brings back so many memories "on the day you were born" (red). My bff's grandpa gave it to me when I was 6, 7 years ago..... He passed away last year and I will never forget him. R.I.P grandpa 😢
I’ve already filmed a few vids using books, the main issue I face is the balance. The books have to stand on each other with the most ideal angle/position or the whole things just gonna fall apart. It’s all about balance. A troubleshooting way I deal with this is using my desks shelf. I lie one wide thin book down, the other books standing on the half lying on the shelf, and put my phone on the other exposed half. Or the book is heavy enough on its own to support the phones weight
Woow.....I’ve been looking for this ! 💜ur simplicity n creativity, ! Thankx muchfor sharing. Can’t wait to see ur upcoming “budgetfriendly” filming videos.......greetings from Indonesia 🙋🏻♀️🇮🇩🌺
omg you're literally the best. Now I can record my videos using the book technique but with something else that's like a huge art supply case and a book and it works! I don't need to buy a tripod stand now!!!
For whoever reads this you can also take a shoe box and cut a small square at the bottom of it an pot the phone in the shoe box and the camera part is by the hole and then you tape the box to the wall and vwala, I used that method for my first few videos and it worked perfectly
Thank you so much for the tips.I always use one hand for recording and one for doing the work or sometimes get my siblings to help but not anymore. My big fat books on the shelf here I come. The music stand is too good too for those who have it.Thank you once again 😘
I've try filmed myself washing hands overhead, kinda like pov videos and you wanna know where my phone is? In my mouth. It's heavy because of the case and the recording is shaky as hell so I scrap it all off. I used a different angle. I swear if my teacher didn't gave me extra credit💀

0:45 ah! Finally a good use for my books!!
Ajinkya Talekar, lol
Lmao
LMAOO😂😂 cause you definitely didn’t need books to learn how to read 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣
Or... You can read them - you wont regret Harry Potter 😁
Or I’ll just take them! 😄
Reading is my life! 📚
i would just tape my phone to the book then tape the books together and tape the books on my table. it works :D lmao-
I guess you could do that,
But I cant because I cant waste my tape
I Use A Selfie Stick And Stick It At The Edge Of A Sofa's Cushion (Idk What It's Called)
Yes that’s what I was thinking, my cat is always around me and I know she would knock over the stack and phone 😂 tape it up!!
sirisha reddy 😂🤣😂🤣
We have like 50 rolls of double sided tape so um thanks for this -3-
Imagine having an iPad only and it falls during the recording.

The thing is, I never have enough space no matter how much stuff I delete from my phone..
Bocolate fr
Same! How do you even get more space?!?!
Get a new phone. I had the same problem with my old phone, but my new one is much better. Also, add a 60+ gb sd card. They're cheap on black Friday.
Bocolate have you checked what was taking up the most space ?

When tripod is much cheaper than led light in your country : 👁👄👁 i'll just buy the tripod then buying led light (cuz i don't have one rn)
Wait so if you always use your phone to film what did you use to film your phone?
Beatrice Tan another phone? 😂
they could have filmed with their phone and borrowed another phone to use as a prop or vice versa
Beatrice Tan and if he uses a) the books for the phone in the code, what will he use to record the video?
Beatrice Tan use Ur eyes and read the first comment of his on the video. You'll get it.
She said she filmed it with another phone, but she mentioned that it was the same type of phone because she wanted it to be same quality

The best way to use books instead of reading those:
The music stand idea is a genius. I have the music stand laying in the corner of my house, never once occurred to me to use it as a stand. XD
I really dont why yt recommended me this and why i am liking this video so much

I just recently got a tripod, but I'm still def stealing this idea to show off my own methods
I've try filmed myself washing hands overhead, kinda like pov videos and you wanna know where my phone is? In my mouth. It's heavy because of the case and the recording is shaky as hell so I scrap it all off. I used a different angle. I swear if my teacher didn't gave me extra credit💀
