Nice that you brought up the perspective of an actual software developer. Since the days of 'just use vim' are kinda behind us, and doing serious work requires you to jump between IDEs and editors, having an easy access to arrows + home/end keys is a must. This is so often overlooked by both the manufacturers and the community.
fun fact: You can actually pick up this keyboard and rotate it like a steering wheel. It's got a gyro sensor in it that can sense being rotated.

Finally got my board in. I watched this video a few days ago and still decided to buy this even with the Bluetooth issues. I figured they'd be fixed by now and they are. All you need to do is update the firmware after downloading the Obins program. Works great.
Also: Every time I turn Bluetooth back on, it seems I need to tell the keyboard which option to use, so hold FN2 + 1 for 5 seconds to get it to re-recognize.
I had the anne pro 2 before i started getting into the custom builds. I have had some connectivity problems with it but overall, it is a bang for your buck!
were ur connectivity issues for the wireless or the wired

Considering it has a decent battery, USB-C charging, and looks sleek as hell...I'd definitely buy it.

@@erinxu4443 Hey, the keyboard has been fantastic for the entire time I've had it and I've been rocking it to this day. Great battery life (especially if you don't use backlighting) and it's such a durable piece of kit. The only thing I would say if you were planning on getting a Keychon branded keyboard is that they come with ABS keycaps which will shine and fade overtime. Best to get some double-shot PBT like the Anne Pro 2 :)
@@adequatequality yo, i just got my anne pro2. did/does yours have a kind of metallic noise too when typing? i think its spring ping whicj comes from the switches or it is the plate. it bothers me a bit :/ if u had it did it go away over time? ty!

Edit (6 months later): ok so the Bluetooth functions isn’t that good especially if you’re a fast typer...60 wpm+. It sometimes doesn’t register a key I press in wirelesssssssss mode. I lubed my gateron brown switches and I think I got too much lube into the switch and now even wired is giving me the same problemmmmmmmmmmmm. Overall, great keyboard tenouttaten

@Perjot Sidhu they're pushing out tons of updates to fix these errors, i dont use wireless so i couldn't say but many of the recent updates are focused on fixing wireless issues
Its worth imo for people who want a nice keyboard, but don't want to jump into the rabbit hole that is custom mechanical keyboards. Most people who buy a duckky or an Anne pro are just looking for a nice keyboard and not really thinking about the build or the switches too much. But for people who do want to hop into the rabbit hole, there are actually a lot of options on amazon that are of the same or lower price, but more features for modding. So in the end the ducky and the anne pro are good keyboards for people who don't want to jump in.
What if I just want a nice, clicky keyboard that won't break apart in a few weeks? Would going for old vintage keyboards be a good idea, like an IBM KB, which is pretty cheap too?

Luxurd S, I think u should get it. It is extremely good. Hence it’s compared to the ducky one 2 mini all the time because it’s such a good keyboard.

Thanks so much for going into detail about its wireless functionality. I've read nothing but good things about the Anne Pro 2 and I intended to use this with my iPad and didn't want to deal with the USB to lightning adapter or power drain. Are there other iOS compatible mechanical keyboards you recommend? I use the Qisan Magicforce full keyboard with my desktop, Gateron brown switches and LOVE it.
i suggest royal kludge's wireless mechanical keyboard:)) i originally wanted the anne pro 2 but it was too expensive so i got one from royal kludge instead

Thank you! I was going for the keychron, but decided for the anne pro 2 instead. The arrow keys don’t bother me because I use vi. I love the fact that it is programmable, this is going to allow me to finally make the caps a third control definitely without having to rely on X11 key remapping
Got some issues with BT connection on mac when I got this first quarter of this year so I've been using it wired until yesterday when I updated it.
Seems like they got it fixed. Just update the firmware and it should be good to go using wireless. This keyboard is awesome because of that tap feature which made it easy to transition from TKL or 65%, I use mac magic keyboard gen 1 before I got this keyboard.
Also, they updated the TAP button to support combo with other keys which is cool when you always use arrows in selecting text, really useful when coding.
Can't live without arrows on my keyboard so I initially thought the least layout I can use is 65% but AP2 got it sorted out because of its TAP feature :)

Yeah, this was sorted a few months ago. Its my daily keyboard, game/work on it, never had an issue i couldnt sort out myself!

@@darksbackup629 im at work rn - i rarely use the bluetooth on it! it comes with a usb cable that ive used since i got it, its only wireless when using my surface tablet.

So my experience with this after using it for 2 months. I use bluetooth exclusively on 3 devices (Linux laptop / Windows Laptop / Android Phone). I have experienced the repeating key in linux and I used xset to adjust the key repeats to be less sensitive, and windows regarding discord PTT, which I adjusted the key delay. Those fixed both issues and never had it again but YMMV. The one positive thing is the software by Obins is actively being developed and even 04/01/20 there was a new release. The software is available on linux/windows/mac, and I have not seen any other keyboard with a better piece of attached software that programs to the board so I can switch between devices and have the same settings and not need to have software loaded. My experience in linux using wired has not been good, if I have lighting enabled at the rate I type, the power fluctuation wreaks havoc on that laptop and will cause freezes (do not experience that on my other laptop).

My Anne pro 2 skips letters all the time while I'm typing and sometimes it types two spaces with a single spacebar key press. It's very annoying and I have to type way slower because of this issue :(
Try changing the problematic switches, if it is related to a particular letter/spacebar/modifier. You do have to use a soldering iron if you want to do that though

@@fraha3533 I Clean it often. I have two of the and both have the same problem I just use them wired now to avoid the issue.
@@darksoul5097 ohhh i see, you're talking about the bluetooth mode? bryan talked about that problem which is most likely a software faulty that probably won't be fixed no matter what you do

Questionnn. Answer me please. I usually play fps game and this keyboard is the one I am planning to buy. Is it a good get or nah? Suggest some other kbs please if ever ☹️
It's suitable for FPS game to be honest, some game may require you to change weapon loadout with your F row but i think that's not gonna be a big issue. I also have Leopold 65% keyboard and i don't have any problem with it when playing video games unless it's MMORPG :D.
Great video. I am having the same issues with my Ann Pro that I purchased a couple weeks ago. It has everything that I want but the wireless aspect is subpar at best. Do you have any recommendations for a wireless mechanical key that I should look into?
Honestly, not really. I tried the Rk65 after this and it was even more terrible. I also tried the Keychron k2 which was awful. I found peace with using the Hyper X alloy origins, it’s amazing.
@@BryanCaragay Any changed on your views about this? I was looking at the AP2 because I want to quickly switch between my mac and my PC without having to deal with the wiring, but if the BT is no good, then I guess there's no reason for me to buy one :/
There's another setting that allows you to hold down capslock and use WASD as arrow keys. I liked it so much I started doing it by accident on all of my other keyboards lol.
Also, if it's worth mentioning, I've never had any problems on the Bluetooth with my Anne pro 2.

That is a shame about the wireless. I already have a Ducky One 2 Mini so I'd only want this for the BT from the sofa :( not an every day thing but just to know I can for few as needed. What's the next best Ducky alternative w/ BT or wifi? I already use an Apple Magic 2 but can't get full use on PC. Any free apps or something?

Is it possible that ur keyboard was dropped or banged up or anything during shopping which cause ur Bluetooth problem? Because my friend has been using this keyboard for the longest time and he hasn’t had any problems with his.

@@krackleee bluetooth doesnt work unfortunately , i swapped to the g915 tkl , jus a matter of preference , the keyboard itself minus the bluetooth capability is amazing tho

Don't know what you are talking about the wireless? Works perfectly for me. They fixed the issue long time ago.
They did not - as shown with my experience. Again this is just my experience. I cannot test every KB they produce, but this shows lack of QA.
I got an AP2 w box reds and it sounds amazing. They are pre lubed and have really good stabilizers.

So, you can get this keyboard for sometimes $60 or if it’s on sale you could get it for even $50.
I tried to find a Bluetooth mechanical keyboard with good connectivity but it seems to be really difficult. I wanted to buy the Anne pro 2 white for my black/white setup and now i'm not sure after this review. Is there any other option? Cherry mx, gateron, kailh, otemu, something?
I have the same problem when choosing my mouse. At the beginning i tried to buy the logitech g 703 white of the ghost edition of the G pro but both of them are out of stock. The only option i have is the smaller logitech g 305. What i want is a wireless setup with white components.
I know this came out a month ago but I was watching some other reviews where people were saying the software was bugged and messing up is this still an issue with this keyboard?
It was really bad for me, so I returned it. The software was really bad
I had some problems, but i seems like they fixed them with update. The only Problem I have is when I'm connected to my 10 years old windows machine, every time I turn it on, I have to unplug and plug again for it to work. It's fine on my macbook so it could be old bios issue. I'm using Anne Pro for almost a year so I can answer if you have any more questions.

Dima Artess Hi. I’m using kailh brown switches. I love them for gaming and working(mostly coding or writing). They are tactile enough, not too loud, but still nice sound. I don’t have any latency issue when in wireless mode and battery lasts for very long without lights on brightest setting. I’m from Europe so I had to do some adjustments with the layout, but the best thing is probablly magic caps lock button and tap function. If there is any bugs with software, try updating. They usually fix those fairly soon.
the stabilizers also come pre lubed

U don’t need to press Fn + arrow anymore ???
It’s not dedicated - it’s a “quick tap” feature. 1 short tap = arrow key, long press = actual key function.

I have this keyboard and I agree with your comments regarding the bluetooth. It's super shitty. I only use it connected.

I returned it! I believe the software has been fixed since then, but I didn’t want to wait a few weeks or however long it would take them to fix it

I need a Portuguese keyboard, but doing so I don't have the functions on the side of those keycaps.

I just bought one and I love it. I think it is totally worth it. There is no reason it isn't "good" in 2020. But I am trying to see if OBinslab is even still in business. Because it really seems like they aren't. So who produces it now and will there ever be an update to the Anne Pro lineup? I just want to know if the Anne Pro 2 is it ... or when this dies will there be a new one sometime?

Great video! Loved your editing and the info. However if I could recommend something, try to be more coherent and controlled when you speak. There are times you seemed really flustered when you speak. Other than that keep up the grind, you're doing great !

I have it an sometimes the Bluetooth glitches and the RGB also glitches sometimes. The only think is why the red cable and its not hotswapable which sucks . Im going to switch to the N65 because its hotswapable, has RGB, and is a 65% keyboard.

I've had the Anne Pro 2 for a while now and really the only con is that the RGB isn't very bright or good looking.
What if what you received was just defective? I really wanna have this but that wireless issue kinda turns me off.
Kyle Oris it’s sorta a risk with keebs. For some reason they seem to be “defective” more than any other electronic, but everyone sorta accepts that? Idk. Generally more reputable brands are good with returns/exchanges which is the important thing. Also, wireless boards are always wonky in some way
I plan on using this on wired, so I am not worried about Bluetooth.
Two questions: do I need the software running to have color settings persistent? Like can all my rgb colors and whatnot save persistently to the board and be used on any system I plug it in to?
Additionally, does the rgb automatically turn on/off with my computer turning on/off? This is an annoyance on my ducky one2 mini
I can only answer one of your questions. But yes the keyboard has on board storage. That means you can use your personal settings on every computer even without running the software. But to set RGB (I think) you need the software

For traversing code why not just use Vim keybindings? Then change caps lock to esc. That's the pro move.

Ivan Miljanić I had the same problem - check out my video on the Hyper X. By far the best option IMO
pov: i don't use bluetooth i only use wired.
pros: rgb is solid
clean software (quite customizable)
not too expensive
mechanical
software includes many updates (fixes and improves a lot of bugs which is nice)
i got kalih box whites which feel amazing
build quality is solid for the price
comes with double-shot pbt keycaps, and accented colored keycaps
cons: sometimes the keyboard disconnects when you reboot your computer and I have to reconnect it.
I bought both the Anne pro with Gateron browns and another keyboard called Kemove DK61 pro for 40$ less with optical Gateron switches which in my opinion feels better and it is lighter and they are both wireless and they both are great for wireless but the Anne pro does have more hours but the dk has 2 days and it charges via usb type c. You can play using wired for both. Honestly would recommend the Kemove dk61 pro for people on a budget that want a 60% wireless/wired but if u want to go higher I recommend the Anne pro!

Versatile yeh just get the software from the website, I have reverse Miami keycaps and I made each key have the same color rgb as the keycap.
what monitors do you have?
with regards to the bluetooth problem, I'm having something similar as well. Although it's more of the fact that it sometimes doesn't register a keystroke so I would be missing a letter every few sentences. It is a huge pain, as I type a lot in my work. I feel like annepro2's bluetooth is lagging worse than my other wireless keyboards. Although I am able to evade the problem when I use the wire instead bluetooth, it kinda still bums me out. The directional quick tabs also kinda hinders with my typing speed (that shift key as a direction makes it impossible to quickly capitalize a letter), so that's useless for me. The magic fn key is great however. I don't have to move my left hand off the home keys to navigate. Will need getting used to tho.
My AP2 is making high pitch sounds when lights are on, maybe problem with coil whine.
How much can I customize without software?

spootywoot I’m not a huge fan of blues for gaming - they’re very loud and clicky and over time can be distracting
