  • Polartec. Unisex. Chili color, but I call it orange. Comes with a storage bag that doubles as a container for washing. Will definitely be taking this on my 2024 Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike this year.

Great idea on Dif colors so your people know what you are asking for. I really like the hoodie.

Light and warm. Orange is always good if you need to be rescued or seen by hunters while on trail.

I took both out last night on a test run and found that the 90 weight one with the zipper was not as comfy when zipped up as the zipper kept rubbing again my face and mouth. The 60 zipped up with hood down felt like I was wearing a warm cozy scarf! No need to wear a buff with it.

Are those an ideal sun shirt? Or are they for lightweight warmth?

You could use the 60 weight hoodie either way. The Zpacks wind jacket is light enough to cover you from the sun. A size that is a bit baggie helps for air flow. The problem with regular sun hoodies is that the tight knit of the polyester overheats in the desert; hence why everyone is carrying so much water. The more one can manage sweat, the less water needed.
