Let SE cook I realize you're craving any information, but the more fluid SE can be in development then the less information they can pin down years ahead of release. I wouldn't mind waiting another year to hear/see anything besides interviews. I don't think the kh4 trailer came *too* soon because it was nice to get an early heads up that the series was going in this artistic and thematic direction, but they probably regret it now that fans like this are screaming for more news when they're not even halfway through development. AAA trailers are often made with mock up gameplay that eats up studio development time to create when it'll generally be scrapped (either remade entirely, or not part of the final release), so any time spent satisfying thirsty trailer fans is ultimately destructive to the final product. Imagine if they teased a world before ultimately deciding it's not going to work out or implementing it poorly etc. Better to not have teased it and hyped up a fandom in the long run. The less they show the better.
I don’t think it’s fans need to practice patience, I think Square Enix just needs to stop announcing games seven plus years before it’s ready for release.
Missed the opportunity to say: "It's been 358/2 Days since the announcement of KH4" instead. 😮💨 Also, waiting 500 days for a Kingdom Hearts game is nothing in comparison. I've waited for KH3 ever since I was 11-years-old, and the game came out when I was 25. 😅
Though it feels weird, I actually think the lack of information since the announcement is a good thing. For several years everyone was absolutely feral for KH3 to come out. There were years of trailers, updates, and the remix releases continuously building hype to the point that the end product couldn't live up to what that marketing campaign promised fully. I think with KH4 they are being more cautious with the marketing to prevent the influx of hype that happened with KH3. They may have decided not to release anything until the game is near completion. Nomura is starting a new saga mixing in elements of the Versus 13 game he never got to release. On some level, KH4 is a game that could make or break the series depending on both the actual game itself and how it's marketed beforehand. No one has forgotten KH4. We're all curious about it and want an update, but the less we know...the better I think. I say that, but watch a trailer randomly drop next week or something and then we'll all be frothing at the mouth again because we all remember that exciting time before KH3 was released. For some, the journey to KH3 was better than the game itself and it'd be a kick of some much needed nostalgia to see people freak out over a new KH4 trailer, but I don't mind not knowing much personally. Going into a game completely unaware of what you're getting into is usually more fun anyway. :)

It has been almost 5 years since the release of kingdom hearts 3 aswell, and going by that alone, KH4 should've already released. But we gotta take into account covid that pushed development for about a year or even more, and Nomura working on FF7 remake part II. We also supposedly have missing link still in development, altough it's probably a different team working on it. We have been waiting for long, but tbh when it comes to Square, I think it's expected the games take a bit longer. Even FF7 part 2 has taken 3,5 years, and was announced over a year ago, altough for that we at least have a release date for march of 2024 My guess is that we'll get more news once FF7 part 2 releases and Nomura can put his full focus on KH4. I genuinely forgot there was even a teaser for it in 3. I'll be hyped when it finally comes around until then it'll probably evade my everyday thinking lmao
I mean the beta was pushed to January and only in Japan so like a very select few even got to try out the game with an apparent release window of this year and literally no news whats so ever missing link is well completely missing. As for 4 its more understandable the switch from UE4 to UE5 multiple triple A games in development it's more forgiving but damn an update would be acceptable
One of the reasons I love ADHD. I’ll forget about it if there’s no news then be EXTRA excited when more info comes out cause I remember it and that feels good but then you get good news at the same time which is even better!!!
Well this should be quicker. One of the reason 3 took so long is because they did a complete overhaul of Kingdom Hearts graphics, animations and much more with their engine. Now that they laid out all the groundwork they can start having easier stepping stones for 4. In theory
idc if I have to wait another year or two before the next kh title is released, but I wouldnt mind at least knowing which worlds to be hyped for. Will Hollow bastion make a full comeback after they did it dirty in kh3? Will we finally get the treasure planet world people have been asking for all this time? Will deep jungle come back after so many titles of radio silence (almost every world from the main 3 games is in at least 1 other game too, except, from the top of my head, deep jungle)
Idc how long it takes as long as it is better than kingdom hearts 3. The game just made me want to hook my ps2 back up and play the real kingdom hearts.
Super hyped for this. With all the delays, revamps, changes, and nomura’s focus on a different game, there was absolutely no way for kh3 to end up as its original vision. But everything we’ve seen so far points towards this being Nomura’s “vengeance” for versus 13 and I’m looking forward to it.
All the games in the dark seeker saga have been compiled. They cant do much in the way of spinoffs because its a whole new story starting. Missing link is basically just tying up loose ends most likely. Theres a gap, because there isnt news.

I played Kh2 on release in 2006, when kh 2 came out in 2019 that was 13 years later, at the time that was half my life i was 13 when kh2 came out and 26 when 3 came out. 500 days is nothing. If kh4 is out before im 50 ill consider it a win.
I genuinely forgot there was even a teaser for it in 3. I'll be hyped when it finally comes around until then it'll probably evade my everyday thinking lmao
It is apparently coming out this year
I mean the beta was pushed to January and only in Japan so like a very select few even got to try out the game with an apparent release window of this year and literally no news whats so ever missing link is well completely missing. As for 4 its more understandable the switch from UE4 to UE5 multiple triple A games in development it's more forgiving but damn an update would be acceptable
Hopefully they will bring back final fantasy characters
One of the reasons I love ADHD. I’ll forget about it if there’s no news then be EXTRA excited when more info comes out cause I remember it and that feels good but then you get good news at the same time which is even better!!!
Update from the future, it's now on Steam so yay? 😅
Watching this in 2024 is even more painful 🥲
They just finished ff16, give it time, I'm sure an announcement will come soon
remember the times when game sequels only took 1 to 2 years in development to be released, and not an entire decade of wait?
I'm honestly fine with the long wait between 3 and 4
Its been so long that i forgot about its existence and just trying to platinum the other games
This may mean they’re cooking
That’s how it usually goes with games without announcements for extremely long time periods
i waited over thirteen years for kingdom hearts 3; i’ll be well into my 40s whenever kingdom hearts 4 does come out.
This is the first time I’ve heard about a kh4
No need to rush or feel angry, give them the time they need and we'll get to enjoy the magic when it's done
It’s call been busy with other projects like final fantasy 16 and remake part 2
Tbf Square did say they were gonna make KH4 in Unreal 5 so it may take a good while.
Well this should be quicker. One of the reason 3 took so long is because they did a complete overhaul of Kingdom Hearts graphics, animations and much more with their engine. Now that they laid out all the groundwork they can start having easier stepping stones for 4.
In theory
ARE WE SURPRISED LOL it'll be out when its out for me cuz I haven't played 3 yet
Ah yes, the CBUI tradition. Vaporwares. I’m used to it now. Surprisingly FF7Rebirth ain’t being too much of a vaporware though!
idc if I have to wait another year or two before the next kh title is released, but I wouldnt mind at least knowing which worlds to be hyped for.
500 days dang
Idc how long it takes as long as it is better than kingdom hearts 3. The game just made me want to hook my ps2 back up and play the real kingdom hearts.
I all for being patient but at least give us a little something to tie us over for the wait like little sneak peaks or something.
Good news, they must have heard you because we got the news now.
There’s no way it’s going to be as long as the wait from kh2 to kh3 so I’m too worried lol
All the games in the dark seeker saga have been compiled. They cant do much in the way of spinoffs because its a whole new story starting. Missing link is basically just tying up loose ends most likely. Theres a gap, because there isnt news.
