    Fine informative video. I bought the black 8" barrel pellet version: highly accurate, relatively quiet, front-heavy (understandably), rather low-powered. Terrific-looking beast, lots of fun. I don't use the loader, found it rather fussy. I bought loads of extra shells to keep loaded, as it is time-consuming to load pellets into the fronts of the cartridges.

    fired like 4 gas cylinders in it and it broke. the firing pin is missing and the hammer spring that returns the hammer is broken. resist spinning the cylinderbas youve seen and will want to...the piece screwing that in becomes unscrewed NON STOP. i figure a drop of superglue can fix that but still. quiet gun that seemed to pick up in power closer to its demise.

    I have the 6" pellet version, beautiful gun, only had 1 co2 cart through it and up for sale due to lack of use. I'm in Leicester UK, prefer collection from my home or will deliver within a 25 mile radius. Other pistols and rifles also for sale for same reasons.

    Thanks for the review, guys!
    Been looking all over youtube for a review trying out different kinds of ammunition with the DW 715 .177 pellet version; since you load the shells from the rear, you theoretically should be able to fire .177 (4,5mm) feather bolts too, right?
    I would love for you guys to maybe do another quick review testing which kinds of ammunition aside from the obvious .177 pellets will work with the 715... .177 steel BBs shouldn't be a problem I reckon, but I'd especially like to see if/how well it performs with bolts.
    Cheers!

    • @surplusstore
      @surplusstore  8 лет назад

      In theory yes you could fire the darts from it, but most of them are steel so are much harder than the lead ammo it's designed to fire and can damage the rifling in the barrel, the same with the copper/steel BBs.

    Please reply. What happens if i put a pellet in the bb gun's bullet? Will it screw my gun or not shoot it? What is the difference between the guns? If i get the pellet loading bullets will i shoot them with bb version?

    • @randybeltran6607
      @randybeltran6607 4 года назад +1

      Oscar Patino you can shoot the pellets out of the BB gun with far less accuracy as long as you have the pellet shells and you can but shouldn’t shoot bbs out of the pellet gun because bbs are harder than pellets and it can mess up the barrel on the pellet gun.

    Hi. I've just bought Dan Wesson Pellet 8" but it's faulty and I have a choice - replace it with a 6" version immediately or wait 3 weeks for a working 8" . Could you answer me which one is more powerful and accurate? the Internet states that on paper 8" is better but some reviews say that 6" is actually more accurate? help me

    • @jseden
      @jseden 4 года назад

      Jake Marshall longer barrel should be more powerful and easier to aim but once a bullet/pellet has caught the rifling, it's on its course regardless of barrel length. I've seen people make 100meter shots with a .22lr Derringer before. IMO, 6" is plenty. My only co2 gun is a single shot Benjamin .22 with a 8-10" (I think.. it's in another state. ATM. It's an eb22). I was pretty good with it up to 50 meters. Fwiw, my largest handgun has been a .357mag with 4" and im ok with it to about the same range.
      I know this post it old but skill is key with accuracy. Longer barrel just gives a better sight picture.

    or i only need to change the cylinders from bb to pellet cylinders?
    Thx

    • @surplusstore
      @surplusstore  8 лет назад

      Hi, You would have to at least change the barrel, the BB version is smooth bore, the pellet version is rifled, I haven't tested trying to fire one through the other, but I wouldn't recommend it, Steel BBs can damage the rifling of the barrel and pellets need to spin to be stable in the air.
      Tl/Dr, I recommending getting a different pistol for each, you'll get better results and you won't risk damaging your pistol...

    Im concerned about bying a DW or Colt python especialy when it comes to weight ... the DW 8" which is longer barrel had about 1 kg and the Colt Python 0.357 i have in my store only 6" still it has 1.120 kg ... does DW has some inner plastic parts ?

    • @homermorisson9135
      @homermorisson9135 8 лет назад

      The DW 715 is not available in 8", those are the older models with the decidedly worse grip/CO2 cartridge design.
      The DW 715 6" weighs in at about 1.2 kgs and apart from the rubberized grip covers, safety switch and sights should have no plastic parts whatsoever - it is a full metal revolver and looks to be 99% identical to the actual .357 firearm.

    • @surplusstore

    • @surplusstore

      Yes, gunsmith here. I have lost count of the costly repairs that I have had to do over the last 40 years due to "hollywood" style snapping the cylinder into the frame with a flick of the wrist. It is the best way to bend the crane on ANY revolver, yes even high quality magnum revolvers. NEVER DO THIS TO YOUR WEAPON.
