I was just given a 1979 model in mint condition last week. Belonged to my Father-in-Law's stepmother(She's in her 80's) father who bought it an maybe used it once or twice. I am in my 40's now and the 760 was my childhood dream bb rifle, and who would have thought all of these years later I would be given one..

Back in the day, I determined that the iron sights were more accurate than a scope because they were mounted on the barrel and the reciever could move in relation to the barrel. I wore at least one of these out.

Got one from the pawnshop couple weeks ago! The pump arm and stock are made of wood. Probably going to need a seal kit too. Just tried working on it yesterday. Didn't know about the self cocking part, thought it was broken ☹️🤦‍♂️!

Mine as a teen was somewhere around 1975 to 78 ..it has the brass bolt and wood fore stock..

Only thing missing on it is the elevator for the rear sight and one screw in the magazine

They are pretty easy to fix. If it is a brass bolt, wood fore grip and plastic butt, they only made that combo in 1975.

I had the same problem with mine and it's 20 years old but I did not take it apart all I did was lightly lube the pump cup with RWS silicone oil and then I turned it upside down and started pumping it and pumping it many times and suddenly it started to build pressure and now it seems to be shooting at full power with 10 pumps however when I'm finished with it I pump it up 3 pumps and then I put it away,

Great job on the rebuild, but that's actually a 3rd variant, made in 1974-1975. Variant 1 had a wooden stock and a wooden forearm with slots carved into in, earning it the nickname "Tootsie Roll." also your version has the slots on top to mount a scope which V1 didn't have, and the "Checkered Styrene stock & smooth wood forearm" of V3.
