My grandpa just gave me his today it’s 53 years old it’s a power master 760 it’s got an old little 4/15 scope sadly the iron sights popped off as soon as he handed it to me and the pumping handle is not there so I’ll have to buy a new one and it does shoot but I’m going to make sure the seals are good
My pastor from my church gave me his old 760 he had as kid as a gift when I helped him move stuff out of his old home. It was just sitting in my room for a while and checked on RUclips to see if there was any way to fix it up. Thankyou!
Good to see you again! Be careful. ScoutCrafter may sneak in and take that Scout tin. Interesting air gun. Hope to see the finished product. Thanks for the fun! :-)
I’ve got the same gun first variant from the sixtys original owner, stopped holding air about 10yrs ago,all wood stock and pump handle, couldn’t get that cup,now I’ve got some hope, good guality gun, when things were built to last, would like to pass on to my grand son
I have one and I think I am gonna restore it..Lots of work..I am a machinist so hopefully I can restore the pellot gun my Dad bought me back in the early 70s
The brass ring comes off with the aluminum washer below it without damaging anything. All you have to do is rip off the old felt, insert an open-end 7/16" wrench into that slot, put the wrench firmly in a vise and tap the center aluminum down with a punch which will separate the brass from the aluminum piston. Replace the seal and felt, tap it gently back together, and reinstall.
I'm in the process of doing this. I got a small bearing puller to get that brass ring off. I have the cup and felt ring on order. It saves having to do all of that dremel cutting
I've done several video series on restoring the 760 Powermasters and Pumpmasters. Bluing and all for years. I get down into every detail, even repairing screwheads.
Great video... Thank you. I have a Daisy from the mid '50s that I want to touch up. I notice you have a can of 'Bag Balm' on your bench - great ointment, heals small cuts and chapped skin overnight. Michael from Canada
I have the same old 760 with the wooden pump handle and stalk it use to be my paps it needs rebuilt and I have an old daisy model 26 that needs rebuilt.
Thanks for the Video...I've seen where they go an just make a whole new Piston including drilling/tapping new thole for pump rod & cut a groove for new O-ring seal .... however I like the the replacement cap w/ O-Ring you got from MAC-1, bout how much would they cost ?
Hello, I have. A Crosman 760 Powermaster exactly as yours. There is no serial number anywhere. I've owned it since the early 70's. Not sure of the model year. It does not hold pressure. Can you please help me locate the proper parts and info needed to repair it? Your video was very helpful. Is the press on cap all that is needed? Thank you, Mike
Hello Mike, Appreciate you watching the video. I have yet to finish repairing my 760.. The company and others to make some replacement parts don't have all the parts to this "time period" of crosman. The early (or First style) 760 takes different parts than the late 70s-80s I found out. I will make a short video of my situation, but I have a missing screw and need to adjust the valve system as well, its not holding air yet. I may have to buy a similar one for a parts gun,, and its not cheap on ebay. Too bad too because they are great guns.
Hey Jonny, sorry, I should have explained in the video, there were earlier and then later videos on the 760. When I made this, I was thinking probably everyone saw those other videos. Thanks for watching and asking about it. Todd
I tore my gun apart and now I don't know which piece goes in first what piece goes in next I got it I got two of them and I forgot to use the one for parts if I had to but I can't figure it out I can put it in but I can't pump the hand at the handle won't pump down it gets stuck so I got something backwards or something's wrong so I need like step by step instructions on how to put it together
I need to redo a couple guns yet and make a better video. Check out Unionrdr (see comment below) He has some videos too on this model.. see if his videos help. Thanks Todd (Good luck!)
I don't think so. That part may be found and if rest of gun is in good shape and complete, getting it working again, it would be worth that and some more I think.
It's a plunger, but not built like the newer models. I am still having issues adjusting the replacement I found on-line. My newer models were easy to replace, but the first series models are giving me issues.
I have this same 1966 gun. Can you tell me where you found the new piston cup? I just replaced the O rings on the gun but it still won't hold air so I am thinking that maybe I need to replace the piston cup.

I hope I helped.. finding parts for the first version is hard. Good luck!
CountryPeddlerTKnauss Thankyou!
Glad you have time to invite us in again . Put me by that stove when it’s going good and I would be asleep in no time !
Thanks Richard!, I have to admit,, I have taken naps next to it.. lol.

Thanks Mark, yes every time I see that tin I think of Scout and Old Shovel.

Interesting to see how you rebuilt the piston. I'll remember if I ever need to rebuild my newer 66 Powermaster. Hopefully it won't be that hard.
Thanks Robert, Ibelieve the newer ones are like my 2200,, you can with your fingers pull the piston cup off and replace it with a new one.
I'm in the process of doing this. I got a small bearing puller to get that brass ring off. I have the cup and felt ring on order. It saves having to do all of that dremel cutting
regarding pump cup: I used a plumbing torch to heat up the brass press on fitting and it popped off when I pried on it with a little screwdriver.
Thanks,, this winter I will try again to get it to work properly...

Thanks, I will get on your page and watch!
Hope the new parts worked! I'd like to see if the old BB gun shoots!
Yes me too,, with all the seals used, it doesn't take much to loose air. May end up just as a "old hand me down" collector piece.
I have this bb gun it used to be my grandpas and still works
That is great, and it works too! Keep it nice and pass it along.. Thanks
Fantastic , guy.

It takes time and for me patience - I wish the companies would have put out a better manual to work on these guns for repairs.... Good luck!
