What a drummer..Stewart Copeland. He's brilliant
He plays ore instruments than that.
The best
Well, he's busy anyway.
Ridiculously good
Copeland: Monstre👏
Stewart Copeland looks like he's having the time if his life
That's his face whenever he drums
*Of, not if.
@@jumpinjojoit was obviously a typo. Only someone with a major complex would try and correct someone there.
@@Brandon.ReactsI didn’t try to correct him. I did correct him.
You’re welcome.
Copeland is the motor. Andy is the flowers in the garden, and Sting is the happy connection between both. A great band.
Very poetic!
So Sting is the blades in the hedge trimmer? haha
Well said!
Toca muito o baterista um dos melhores
Well put. Obrigado 🤘🏿
Mr Copeland looks so happy.
It is his show after all
I truly admire Andy Summers for his beautiful tone and killer improvisational guitar solo, the chord progressions, mood and tempo and appearence on stage
An amazing musician
Nice. He completely bailed on Sting in the chorus when he needed him lol
He's great but I don't get what he is doing here
@@rafaelzengo5534 what the skellington thing?
@@neillp3827 Butterfly. My elbow says goodbye
One of the best reunions I have ever heard. Most bands lose a step after time off, but The Police sounded possibly even better than before here. Shame they couldn’t stay together longer
It's because they didn't last for a long time that they are great today, it's just a supposition, but I better think that way.
Such a shame. 😢
@clement6429 that's questionable (imo).
I believe their greatest could have continued (if they desired as much).
Truely blessed to have been given such a band...
My youth revolved around all many activities and always had The Police, The Specials and Bob playing in the background 😅😊
Exactly staying on his own was good with the police a whole Nother level the style of the music and like you said, they’re even better musicians now and let’s get it even a new album
AS is a jazz guitarist. His clever use inversions, extensions & voicings make Police music singularly unique.
Amazing band
Stewart Copeland and The Police
I'm no drummer but how fucking good is stuart copeland!!
Neal Pert´s level. I concur, out of the box will be the phrase. I really hope this days music industry will procure good musicians instead of pretty faces.
*Stewart
Originally in "C" now in "G" even the modulated guitar solo in "A" goes back to "G" ,
ol' Sting is human .
aren't we all these days...lol....but his voice still has that unique tone and texture....
He does most things in original or maybe a half step down....but damn this song is brutal for a young man or woman lol
Feels good in G or A but damn C is rough!
@@himester666 Listen to the original there's a key change to D in the last part. I am a baritone nearly 60 and can reach it, but I've put in a hell of a lot of work to be able to do that. Couldn't reach near that when I was young. God knows I tried though!
Even Andy Summers is playing simplified.
Guitar solo here is better than the original in C.
Andy Summers is a wall of sound! Possibly the best pop guitarist ever...
He is not a wall its a rollercoaster
whit Johnny Marr, maybe...
You know Iggy Pop said...."who plays the best guitar.....who fucking cares."
@@mikerieck306 And what the fuck did he know about playing guitar?
@mikerieck306 enough to have Ron Asheton and James Williamson play in the same band
STING..
ANDY..
STEWART.
THE POLICE.
CLASSIC FOREVER.
Stewart coplend is awsome never got enough credit for his role in the band he absolutely kills it on the drums the police would not have gone so far without him
No shit he invented the police.. Look up there history
Are you kidding me???!!
He gave himself all the credit in the world anytime anyone asked him, and even sometimes when nobody asked him(and rightfully so, he's is my favorite drummer in a tie with Bonham and an incredible artist). Kidding here for the most part, but the Police was 3 big egos by the time it all ended, maybe 2 is a better number here, as Summers seemed sometimes publicly ambivalent in the interviews & such. Copeland never had a hard time expressing himself in a room, or a concert hall for that matter, and although they are one of my favorite bands ever, it couldn't last. Sting was the voice of reason, saying to Summers and Copeland the night before they played Shea Stadium on the Synchronicity Tour to 14,400 more fans than did the Beatles at that same stadium in 1965, (paraphrasing) "It's time to stop. We're bigger than the Beatles at this point. It's diminishing returns after this." I believe that, and it was worth the wait for me to see them in '08, having re-worked all the songs and completely on top of their game. Plus, Sting had already made plans to record a solo project at that point, and band tension was at an all time high......and you're right. They wouldn't have gone nearly as far without Copeland. But the same can be said for the other 2 also IMO.
@@joesutherland2017 It's hysterical that you call Sting "the voice of reason" right before recounting how he claimed the Police were bigger than the Beatles.
Copeland is the reason any of those guys are known at all.
@@badtelevision5482 "It's hysterical that you call Sting "the voice of reason" right before recounting how he claimed the Police were bigger than the Beatles."
That's why I prefaced my comment with "Kidding here for the most part". I should have said "Just being facetious here for the most part" instead, as the sarcasm that followed that statement didn't and generally doesn't travel well on the internet. "The voice of reason" was a joke, because the 3 of them have always been massive egos with the musical talent to back it up as stated above, seeming at times more like brothers than bandmates, all clamoring for approval in the world's eyes, each for their independent achievements within the band. 1983's Shea Stadium gig had them at the top of their game, with at least one of them looking for an exit.
And I already agreed with the OP about Copeland being a driving force in the band's rise, stated here, "......and you're right. They wouldn't have gone nearly as far without Copeland" so........
"Copeland is the reason any of those guys are known at all." I'm not defending Sting here- I actually like Copeland more than Sting, but stating that Stewart Copeland "is the reason any of those guys are known at all", seems a bit far fetched, like my " voice of reason" quote, don't you think?
Not to diminish Copeland's achievements- the guy has received awards and accolades in film, writing, music to name a few- hell, he's collaborated with orchestras over the years and played with arguably some of the world's biggest musical talents, but.....if Sting's 11 or so Grammy awards and plethora of other awards(all after the Police's run which certainly received its share)could talk, I bet a few of them might disagree with you. And yeah, I know, awards in general shouldn't be used to judge 1 artist against another, but Sting wasn't just another pretty face.
I see it as just a brilliant combination of individual talents. Awesome together - none of their solo projects had this energy or the 'pull'. Sum of the parts being greater and all that.
Stewart Copeland is a beast!
I must be nuts...I always thought the Police would be better with a real drummer...you know with soul or funk...
its cool...he just aint the guy for me.....no soul...just hitting stuff
What do you mean watch a interview with him ... after that watch his drumming they are the same erratic creative and fast paced... no soul if anything he plays with more soul then most of the greats... his soul is just different to yours...
I just don't see it... I want to like the guy but.....but then again I am from Detroit..we overdose on funk and soul here
Try to hear his drum tracks
3:54 I love that groove by Copeland... what a guy!
its a the Copeland groove
Stewart Copeland is a God Drummer!!!
+Riccardo Tralli And what is next!
That bass rocks a lot
+Alfonso Rejas That bass is Rock
That excellent drumming by Stewart!
Underrated for sure.
not really he is one of the best drummer of all time
He is not underrated at all!
Clem Burke too...these are my fav guys
@@toniperez1323 Underrated by who? He's widely regarded as one of the best ever.
Brings back my teenage years. I must have worn out at least 5 cassette tapes of the police. I kinda miss the 80's.
Remember listening to them on Cassette even in the 2000s, greatest hits album!
Sting: "Welcome To The Stewart Copland show" at 4.08 min !!!
Also at 1:24 he says the Andy Summer's show
Kurt Cobain whats funny is stewart has a show now haha
The smile on Stuart's face,, you can tell he loves playing the drums with a passion
Everyone here is taking about how great Stewart is, but the entire band is amazing
*We want The Police on tour for 2018* !
WE NEEDDDD THEMMMM
Apprendre Sans Blabla yes we do!
And 2019........
at only one condition. They call another singer
Unfortunately, I think that ship has sailed for the last time....at least in a tour form.
IMPRESSIVE Steward Copeland! I love ❤ Police❤
One more tour please. This is the best power trio in history (in my opinion). None of them are as good without each other. Each of three is unique.
Yeah, I totally agree. They were just in the right place at the right time. They complimented each other's sound so much. It's like they were meant to be a 3 piece.
Not going to happen. Andy Summers 80 years old this year and Sting 71 years old this year.
Concert with Sting just announce for August of 2022 in London Ontario , not sure if Stew or Andy will be part of it.
@@mikewa2 Rolling Stones?
Andy is 82. And Sting 73. I saw Sting in Cardiff last year - and he was dead ordinary to be honest....
Stewart is the one and only Drummprofessor ! 🥁👍
Sting`s voice is the Police!🎸🎤
Neil Peart was the professor.
So is Andy's 'voice' fir sure- my old & always affable school classmate. Recall when he got his first guitar!
Brilliant band. Left their mark in the history of rock. Their tunes will never be forgotten!
Stewart Copeland is incredible!!!!They ALL are of course,But the more I listen to Stings solo stuff(Connie is one of my favorite drummer,Actually all of Stings drummers have been awesome)But it makes me appreciate ALL Stewart Copeland’s contributions to this great band!!!!These three together is completely magical!!!
Wow, growing up I totally under appreciated this band! Incredible musicianship.
I really like that guitar solo part. Not only because it sounds fantastic, but also because it seems like they are being transported back to the old days when the band was fresh. A moment without band issues, just music.
Solo on the record = amazing. Loose, melodic and groovy.
Solo here = garbage.
@@adamski101 not heard of improvisation?
Copeland's precision along with simultaneous ease of moves is just one of a kind!
somehow Stewart now owns that hard snare hit - you think of only one band, one drummer when you hear it
It is fantastic. Alex Van Halen has it too😉
Stewart Copeland? I think you'll find he was named 'busy sticks' by the gods of rock. What a man.
The Summer´s guitar solo it´s EPIC!
All 3 of them are brilliant!
Wow, what a guitar solo!
And Copelands drumming is right on point!
Jag håller med. Såg dem 2007 i Globen, helt fantastiskt!
Missade dem tidigt 80-tall, var tvungen att jobba. Skit! Men när de hade reunion så fick jag se dem. Min livemusik önskan var uppfylld. Completed! Ha det!
// Korak, Sveg, Sverige.
Mr. Copeland's playing here sounds especially tight. And yes, that kit is tuned beautifully.
Kudos to his backline tech
Stewart Copeland is brilliant. What a drummer
Welcome to the Andy SUMMERS SHOW!
Andy Summers, GOAT! What a wall of sound.
How can people like the new pop music when you can listen to this?
Most people don't genuinely enjoy their entertainment on any level deeper than social acceptance.
The latest shittyt music is no where near these Legends...Sting is a well read Musician and the whole Band is amazing!!!
That's deep
Right????
because people can enjoy things that you dont believe it or not
Copeland the greatest drummer of all time
He's definitely up there...
Police rule
Along with Bonzo
Hes up there dude. But Just breathe though K
He's fantastic, but it depends on the criteria you judge it on. Power, speed, accuracy, tone, feel, technique..... there are different winners in all those categories. I just like enjoying all incredible musicians
I just love the bit where Sting stand next to Andy, forcing him to continue the solo until he gets back to the microphone.
These 3 guys are an Orchestra. Love you always. Hugs from México 🇲🇽
Andy Summers unique ear and feel for tone, timing and timbre what a wonderful musician.
A lot of what he does is over looked because he plays to the song and is not flashy, with rapid scale runs. He brings a lot of color to the songs with his chord voicings and understands what is required to have a full sound with a three piece band.
Love the old bass sting's sound performed on this song, the whole song stands out !
It's probably one of the best live performances from a rock band of all time for sound quality musicianship and world interest .At their age, it's not an easy task, but they pull off a brilliant performance of quality that surpasses 90% of Rock bands worldwide out there currently. They are a hard act to follow up from, and I'm glad I was around to enjoy their music most of my life.
Fantastic song. Great performance.
One of the best rock bands ever, the way of improvisation of Summers, his chords progression and live versions, the tempos of Copeland, his playing style and his fills, the Stings voice and his compossicions, and the best thing, the chimestry between them
Still melt whenever I hear any Police song. Copeland is still hot... 😍
2 greatest bands of all time, head and shoulders above the rest are THE POLICE and THE BEATLES!!!!!¡
Sting always gets the attention, and deservedly so, but can people just take a moment and really appreciate how good Andy Summers is. He was their secret weapon. Stewart was the motor and wheels and is an all-time great talent, Sting was the inspiration and the pilot and is one of a kind, but it was Andy that kept it all together and made up the chassis imho
To have that much speed, power and enthusiasm in his mid 50's playing challenging drum parts is just incredible. Mr. Copeland is an inspiration.
Missed you singing. Glad you all are back. All of you stay safe.
That old Fender bass just sounds gorgeous.....
3:13 After all the fights between them, it seems to me that Stewart really loved to play with them
Andy solo in here is amazing, the best so lonely solo from the reunion that i seen!!!!
Stewart on so lonely back then and now hasn't missed a beat
My idol Mr Stewart Copeland
3 guys who sound amazing together.
Turn Andy Summers up in the mix. This is a guitar masterpiece.
Fantastic drummer! Stewart Copeland 🤘🏿
Wow - what a band.
Stewart awensome ! The best
2:54 Andy, Sting and Stew...

Who knew a guitar drums and a bass player would become one of the greatest band ever
they sound better now! amazing
What a band! I didn't even know Stewart composed the first 3 Spyro soundtracks
Gotta Love Andy,.. fell into a great gig....
Andy Summers unique guitar playing stands out from the rest. Beautifully powerfull!!
Sting .. .. what a man, what a singer, just love him !!!
love this song much since junior high school
They are great sound so good live!
Who knew a guitar a bass and drums would become one of the greatest band of all time
Rush? Nirvana? Primus? The Stray Cats? ......
Damn!!
Stew's drums sound absolutely amazing.
El poder del trio. Siempre grande The Police! Copeland?....de otro planeta.
Always heard the police on the radio back in the 80s 😃❤😄one my favourite 💚🤍🧡😄❤🖤
In the first ten seconds of the song Stewart already gets a sign from Sting to slow down. They made a few legendary band discussion videos rehearsing in Tuscany and other locations and it really was like old times again. But that was just playing around in front of a camera.
This was real and you can bet moments like the slow down sign lead to discussions afterwards.
In my honest opinion Sting showed he had way more miles of experience on the counter. He even announced Andy's solo (welcome to the Andy Summers show).
I also think Andy was light-years away from the level he played almost three decades before the Police quit.
These guys are amazing in the way that they play these songs in very different keys to the originals, yet still capture the vibe.
They knew the audience wanted to hear the hits, not the deep cuts. So, they jazzed up the hits.
perfect drumming !!
1/12/22 MY LOVE FOR THIS SONG BROUGHT ME HERE TODAY!!!
Glad they were able to get together to make this tour happen. Long Live The Police!
High quality sound, impressive. Thanks.
Copeland is the "working class" of The Police, he´s the one who´s keeps the show running, i wish i would have this energy in his age!!!
The Police simply the best band....amazing...i love the police forever!!!!
Copeland is the man! Tak takatak, his snaretuning, timing and offbeats are legend.

As a drummer I'm having a problem in my pants right now ❤️
That back beat is flawless
Andy Summers is poetry

I wish the video was just 5 minutes and 49 seconds of Stewart Copeland's mastery. He's unreal.
