Sting - Vocals, Bass
Andy Summers - Guitar
Stewart Copeland - Drums - Видеоклипы
When the Police "broke up" in 83' (yes, I know they reformed and played 3 concerts in 86) I was 15. I never got the chance to see them live. I spent 24 years waiting for the chance. I finally saw them in 2007 in Cleveland. There is a magic these 3 men have together that's beyond words. Thank you Sting, Stewart and Andy.
Agreed! Music should be uplifting and these 3 guys certainly did that. Glad you finally saw them darling!
Same for me. I was so happy to see them in Phoenix in 2008... definitely a "bucket list" item for me.
I was Born 1993 and i Never das Thema live 🥲 But i love them so much ! And im Glad you saw them After all These years . Very nice
Miami 2007, was the best I've seen ever.
I saw them in 2008 and was probably the best concert I've ever been to. We need a reunion tour.
Damn, NO ONE sounds like Stewart Copeland. What a uniquely great drummer.
You got that right!
Wowee the drums on here!! (Not a song that was my favorite but great live version :-)
These three guys are unique 😮
Yep
He really is
Sting’s ability to sing across beats and measures while playing highly syncopated parts still blows my mind.
You might like Geddy Lee
Tyler White yeah, definitely!!! Ged is incredible.
Yes , Amazing
right! no one can take away the fact the all three of these lads are masters at their craft. all the bullshit aside. they bring it once they step onto that stage.
GUESS HOW ? 'COS HE BOTH HAD CLASSICAL & JAZZ EDUCATION, WHICH MOST OF THE MUSICIANS ARE NOT EVEN AWARE OF...PLUS HE HAD WORKED FOR MANY YEARS WITH ASIAN & AFRICAN & AMERICAN MUSICIANS, TO EXPLORE THE NEW MUSICAL HORIZONS...A TRUE TRUE GENIUS...YOU CAN NOT COPY HIM IN ANY WAY...
Stewart Copeland is so syncopated that Syncopation itself has difficulty to keep up with him...fuck me,what an awesome drummer he is,such a very unique style, absolutely one of my greatest drum idols.P.S.Sting is a great bass player and his voice is amazing as always here...and Mr.Summers is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. The Police is and will always be one the best bands ever.
mangadrummer85 my favorite drummer !
Can't see it myself.
Agreed
I will use a condom
Mr. Summers is rated exactly where he belongs.
One of the greatest lines in all of recorded history:
"...you don't ever want to see me again
And your brother's gonna kill me and he's six feet ten..."
"I guess you call it suicide
But I'm too full to swallow my pride"
One of my faves too...
@@PlutoDarknight My fav
I'm 5'10
What's the meaning of this sentence, I'm not American
Could watch Copeland for hours. This is what video is for.
Ozzy Osbourne once said: playing with your old band is like putting on an old shoe - it just fits.
Ozzy said that? Remarkably locquacious for Ozzy.. ;-)
Old shoe or not…
They worked their asses off, getting ready for their tour.
They rehearsed for 4 months....a lot of “to & fro” ..... a lot of “meeting in the middle”....
Opinions and theories about their was always the main reason for their fighting.
“We fought ‘tooth and nail’ over the music, but we’ve always liked each other.”
-Stewart Copeland-
The bass that Sting uses sounds INCREDIBLE.
Marchesi Taurus peddals.as used by rush and genesis.
I sold sting those pedals for 3,500 dollars. True story
Those original Fender P Basses have an incredible sound, very ballsy!
@@juliesnow5542 I’d love to hear your story
Hands down. Summers really impressed me. GREAT guitar playing.
He's phenomenal.
Same!
Summers and the drummer sandy who plays guitar
I love that Stewart smiles so much while playing.
These guys made a trio something utterly different! They used Reggae rhythms and brilliant timing to create something unique! One of the greatest bands in rock history!
For all the “in-fighting” they are an amazing trio. What a sound! They all have their talents…and that’s The Police!!👍🏻
We might think, it's the turbulence between them that gave the characteristic angst in their music...
I'm guessing Stewart finally agreed to listen to the click track. 😆
Stewart Copeland! MAESTRO!
Best Three Piece Band EVER. IT's amazing how much music is coming out of just THREE guys!
IMHO Creme were the best, but "my God", they were not far behind.
Let's also at least consider Rush...hard to argue the talent. Not that I am knocking the Police mind you.
Karen Catizone right along with Rush.
Police, Rush, Nirvana, Cream.
This isn't a diss at all - but some bands have extra guys under the stage you don't know about. U2 have a keyboard player backstage playing pads to fill out the sound.
Green Day have all their live members on stage with them..
Love Andy’s intro. He really shines in this performance😃
this is not a Sting show ...THIS IS POLICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Who are the other guys?" says everyone born after 1985.
Mick Funny lies
Stewart Copeland on drums & Andy Summers on guitar
Summers is on guitar ffs
jorge rienzzi We know
Genius at every position. Doesn't happen often.
Can watch repeatedly with awe and wonder. Amazing
Who would have thought they were only 3 playing for THE POLICE? Top 3man-band of my list, vocals, bass, lead guitar and exceptional drums. Balanced solos of their instruments most if not all of their songs. Very well arranged songs.
Add Rush and Primus to the list.
When I was a kid I was all about Sting! I've always loved a beautiful bass line (thanks to Macca) but listening to The Police all these years later, it's Copeland who blows my mind. What a drummer!! Stunning.
This is the point in time where I say it .....around 2008-2009....the Police " retired" . It's 2022 and I believe they have one or two more tours in them !!! Who's with me ???
Stew's drumming!
wicked
Took care of his end of the bargain huh?
Marwan Bayoumi stew good drammer
Best ever, only behind greatest The Who's Keith Moon and Rush's Neil Peart
Marwan Bayoumi YES! His drumming was off the HOOK!
My favorite Andy Summers guitar-work! That interlude change-key is angsty yet soothing...and that long instrumental? A feast for the ears!
EDIT: Too late have I known that it the instrumental was actually "Regatta de Blanc" and it still kicks up to this performance!
Actually this is the original version of Can’t Stand Losing You, when they recorded it for the first album it was too long so the instrumental part was removed. When they did the second album they included it and named it Regatta De Blanc
@@TheGlassVampirethat’s very interesting actually! Regatta is one of my fav albums over but I’ve been loving the other albums too and makes me wonder if all of them are really just extensions of each other and their love for reggae and punk (?)
You don’t get musicians like this anymore. That was absolutely great. Brilliant medley of early police.
Copeland - the coolest man in the room
I love his voice!! I love his bass!!! I love the whole band!!! I love this song!!! They are incredible!!! WOW!!! Stunning performance!!!
Stewart is a monster
Not only are their songs timeless but The Police are one of the most timeless bands ever!!!! You listen to them play one of their songs and immediately forget they began making music back in the 70s!!!!
LONG LIVE THE POLICE!!!!!!!!!!
I thank the Copeland Brothers for the long haul. And Mr Summers for his humour. The lighting designer!
Wooooowwww.....three guys can make music live like this...
This TOUR and the CD/LP/DVD that came of it was (and still is) LEGENDARY! I'm still scratching my head as to why the trio didn't win a couple of Grammy awards for this great era.
One of the best bands ever! 🤟
No, it is the BEST band there has ever been!
I saw them perform live in the 80s. Amazingly, they haven’t really lost a step.
Under rated drummer right there!..... He's EXCEPTIONAL!
ugh...I never thought he fit in the Police......all that doming...and look at me drumming
Never thought he fit in the Police? The Police wouldn't be the Police without Stewart Copeland.
it is just my opinion.....he is too busy and too flashy
Hardly underrated: Stewart Copeland's very well known and recognized worldwide for decades as a prominent drummer.
in a 3 piece band he needs to be
Stewart Copeland. AMAZING!!!! This guy just doesn't get the props that he should be getting..
Although I like many songs from Sting's solo career, but I can't stand losing The Police as they were one of the best bands ever and their music is immortal.
It's also a pity that they don't perform "Bed's too big without you" in the reunion tour, a truly masterpiece song.
They did...They performed The bed's too big without you in the reunion 07-08
Tokyo....Lucky people to see this ......live!
That transition into Regatta de Blanc was smooth!
THAT DRUMMING AT THE BEGINNING ... I'm a good drummer myself, but this is just great
some of the greatest performers ever! (even 30 years after the original release)
Best rock trio, EVER
Cinthya Acosta Villa no rush the best.police second.
Errrrrrrm ever heard of a band called Green Day?! Jokes lol.
Soda stereo
@@diego8986 sii mal, aguante soda
@@marvinlewis2144 hahaha no.
In my top 20 best bands of all time, such talent!
so much talent! Stewart is just a treat to listen to. Love them all. Work so well together
Now that is what you call a great band!
Just still so awesome after all these years. Nothing like these three.
Finally, I've been arrested by The Police. Thanks for the post.
Can't Stand losing you, Police. But I survived.
Best version of this song. A musical opus.
40 years later they still got the groove
Stuart Copeland is awesome!!! :-)
That drummer goddammit !
4:34 Sting bass masterclass on rocking out with finesse. Love the improvisations in this song. 3 people ..... dynamics 10 fold.
I love how they changed it up a bit...such a simple song from such amazing musicians...brilliant
The Police, now still incredible, fantastic!
I have the pleasant to saw them on Buenos Aires, were they filmed the DVD.... wadda fantastic band!!! My fab, off-course, I couldn´t believe!!! Finally saw them!!! Regards from Uruguay.. I love the smiles Andy does to his roadie..
That was a really great performance!
Stewart Copeland. Neil Peart. Taylor Hawkins. They are just at another level. All you can do is listen and enjoy because you will never be able to do it.
The brilliance of Stewart Copeland never gets old, mr. Andy Summers and mr. Sting put it all together besides Rush........ the greatest rock Trio ever. The Kingston Trio the Jamaican four on the floor . Love it..... Copeland! And a big fatty of Lambs breath^_^
They can't stand each other but what a band. Sting's solo career has never hit the heights of the Police. Pure chemistry.
Sting solo took him in a different journey with more sophistication and poetic songs. He sold 75 million on his own and created 5 masterpiece Albums. He is one of few solo act that kept his legacy and popularity after leaving his band.
I love The Police, God bless them :) Watching this one for the 1000 time (approximately).
SIMPLY AWESOME ..... JUST THREE GUYS AND IT SOUNDS GREATTTTTTT
these old folks still bang new bands today.. #sting
There is no Words invented for this.
Genius.
they still had that awesome "wet" sound that I loved for so long
What a great Vintage Bass Guitar. Awesome band and performance!
This is killer...I mean...wow what a great version.
What a performance. So great!
The best three man band of all fucking time.
Them or Rush that's a tough decision
Great memories of 1978.
Loved them
Wow. Just. Plain. Brilliant.
vocal enhancement overload, great band , and great songs.............love em
I always loved the police you made some good song . Good to see you back together even one time 👍👍😎😎😎
Fantastic!
Love The Band, Love The Best Drummer In A Band!
That was the BOMB!
This show happened 10 years ago, at the time of this comment: First off Copeland is a friggin MONSTER. Agreed. Andy's playing is multi-layered, complex, very colorful. He's getting a lot of mileage from a small tank of gas. Sting. Still how his voice can go low and still high (the song's mid-section) at his current age, is very surprising. We he hits that high range it's really unnervin. Mealwhile his bass is busy rumbling in the background with all kinds of flavor. And how Sting calmly stays on point against World War III behind his left shoulder, is mysterious. The Police are wonderful to watch. Only three guys! Seems as they have little in common but then they arrive, tighter than as a mosquito's ass, at each destination. And another thing, this show is something like two decades after they broke up? Think about it.. How's your today after-20-years ago going?
"World War III behind his left shoulder" - LOL!! one of the best descriptions of Stewart Copeland's playing I've seen so far.
Gordon went on to greater things....however this...THIS 3-piece band was his real home!
4:49 Stewart Copeland modern drummer 2006
fantastic!! Superb Andy Summers
no need for a bigger band. Three guys this good and you have it
Amazing version and I love this mix!
A band I can take or leave, but this is something special
A marvelous group best singer and bassman, best and innovation drummer and the guitar of Andy is a dream, saludos desde Chile 2o21
Essa entrada polirritmica de aro de caixa e hi hat do stewart copeland é linda demais!! Que batera sensacional! 👏👏
Flawless....they deserve the fame! All of them
excelente baterista.....!!!!!!! con razon es considerado uno de los mejores bateristas del mundo !!!!!!!
Again!
Lovely, Amazing and Brilliant!
🎸🥁🎶👍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Now that Neil Peart is gone (r.i.p.) Stewart is my top drummer pick for a fantasy band.
Sting,nadie,copeland,excelentes...los mejores ...que banda....por dios
MAGNIFICAL
I met Sting when I was about 7 in 1977/78 - he used to teach at my school (St Pauls Primary School in Cramlington) before my time and he came back to see his old colleagues - he was wearing a striped top and had the big bleached punk hairstyle
La velocidad de Stewart a su edad es totalmente brutal 🔥🔥 admiracion total a the police 👍
stuart knows that even sting & andy dont talk to each other anymore, their gigs proved that they are still connected through the music
Stewart is really amazing....of course they all are, but in this moment i am in awe of Stewart
Stew the master … Nuff said…. Looking at him behind those drums… just wow.. he’s still got it !!!
at the time of this stage Sting was 57. I wish I could look like him 🙂and play/sing at the same level. No words
I love this band
The regatta de blanc transition is so cool
As a drummer, I am a Stewart Copeland tragic but I'm just as in awe of Andy's Summers and Sting. Love 'em.
that snare !!!
He can and does pound that poor puppy!!
This poor puppy was 30 years old and still his snare.
What a sharp snare !
Great Sting , but Copeland is high level , favolosi .
