Always killing it in the videos man!!!!!!!!! One tip to the new riders out there, make it a habit to do a quick wipe down of the rotar itself with brake clean. Most come coated to prevent rust.
Yea. I did that. And forgot to film it. Sometimes I get to working and I forget about every detail. ^^He is 💯 right! Wipe them down with a lent free cloth and brake clean!
Well I appreciate you watching and commenting. I’m pretty good about answering questions. If you miss me here, I’m on IG @scottlink_l5p. Always happy to help. Welcome to the fam. 💪🏼
If you're anything like me you might not apply the locktite over the rotor because I always seem to apply enough that some drips off. I didn't understand why you would torque the front axle at one number then immediately go to a higher number. Makes sense if you torque to the lower number before you tighten the pinch bolts and then add more torque. Any way this is a nice video and it's very detailed with good explanation and showing what tools you need.
I wasn’t sure about the double torque sequence either. It’s just what the manual said. Unless I missed something. Which is very possible lol. Thanks for watching!
I thought I noticed that DJI wireless box at the beginning of the video, in the tool layout. Was considering those as well. Will have to wait until your ride video to see how they perform. 😂 Cheers
Well my last video when I rode I used it. Even with the dead cat, and the audio sounded terrible. But for around the garage stuff it’s amazing. Super simple to use. Not sure if I can adjust the gain or anything. I’m pretty tech illiterate. 🤣
Wow, I had no idea they had so many different types of Brake pads and rotors available... I noticed that they were super light weight.. just assumed that they were all aluminum... Hey, I like that 'High Tech' torque wrench! I was thinking about trying to put a Shut-off switch on the headlight, you wouldn't happen to have the diagram would you? Or, maybe a simple fix for shutting off the headlight? Great video, Link! You really make it appear so easy! 😆.
@@linksgarage1985 thanks man! Yes, if possible, ..tap into the 'High/low' switch, and have a toggle switch right next to it. Idk, if that works though because I watched some other videos on it, and the way that they did it, they had to tap into two different wires. They've got more than one circuit on some of them... I couldn't find much more about it...
Brake disc look great! I did the same rear caliper and disc guard only in black, after doing the clear oil filter and starter cover, just added a k&n air filter, the same brand graphics kit in grey, where did you get the stainless brake lines, and are you still on the stock tires? Ps my wife is like “could you quit watching this channel, you keep spending money on your bike”:)
That’s awesome dude! Stainless brake lines are from core moto. They are fantastic. And no to the tires. I am on Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3s. They are fantastic! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Once again, another mod for your drz where you explain every aspect and angle on the parts themselves and the installation. Thanks for the chart explaining the different rotors and pads I actually have not had the chance to look into those things for my drz. And might I add it looks fuckin rad and I can only assume the performance is better. Now did you do this mod because you were not satisfied with the stock pads and rotors even with the braided lines? And nice kicks
Thanks man! And honestly, the stock brakes work good. Just wanted to upgrade a little. Not a 100% necessarily needed. I’m running out of shit to do! Ha. I appreciate you watching!
@Link’s Garage oh well if you are running out of ideas, maybe here are a couple i can come up with 🤣. Stage 1 or stage 2 hotcams to complement the fcr39 carb power delivery, athena 434cc bolt on big bore kit, revalved suspension or just racetech rear and/or front springs, loctite fixes ( countershaft, main bearing, stator), modified rmz front tank plastics, modified shaved rear number plate plastics, ya actually you have done quite a bit to this drz it is hard to come up with many ideas. I really need to get to work on mine before the spring. Do you have a link for the company that did the custom graphics?
I will for sure. I did a lot of research before buying them. Initial quality looks great to me. As soon as the weather clears, I’ll be sure to post a video. Thanks for watching from Singapore!!
Someone call the fire dept. Link’s bringing the heat. Always enjoy your content. Thanks for sharing all these golden nuggets.
🤣. Thank you! I appreciate it. Hope it helps someone.

Those are the R series synthetic pads not the mxs-x synthetic pads you're pointing out the wrong ones on the back of the package.
Sweet!
