Had storms like these in the mid 90's while I was in Magaluf. We used lilo's to surf down the middle of the road as the water gushed down the hill from the Sotavento apartments area. Hotel at the bottom of the hill ended up with around 3ft of water in the ground floor areas.
That may have been at the end of August 1994?. Was in Magaluf at the Royal Magaluf apts (now Innside by Melia Wave House) right on the beach during that period and in the morning dark clouds emerged from the West followed by a lot of rain, wind and thunderstorms, Beach umbrellas and lilos got airborne and people were fleeing from the beach. Heavy flashes and thunder. It lasted a number of hours, but slowly after that the nice weather returned. In all the years I went to Maga from 1988 to 2011 this was the only time I experienced really bad weather over there. In 1989 at the beginning of September extreme weather was noted with floodings and Palma airport closed.
@@artvanhulst8741 I think you might be spot on with that date. Magaluf was much crazier in those days than it is now. We would stay out all night and make our way back to the accommodation when the sun came up. The mad area now seems to be Mega Park and Beirkonig at Playa de Palma except it's big groups of Germans instead of English.
I may or may not have partaken in sliding down the strip on a lilo back in 2014/15 when it rained so much! I remember sitting watching a couple lads just floating around on lilo with their drinks
Hi Alex,We wer'e lucky as we finished our holiday in Majorca ( Palma Nova ) last Tuesday just before the storms arrived. We had a fantastic ten nights at the Agua Beach Hotel,Food was excellent ( Half board ) .Sunbeds 20.50 Euros a day. Will definately come again and thanks for all your wonderful videos.
I can remember being in Puerto Pollenca in the 1980s in September and it rained for the whole two weeks. We booked the same two weeks a year later and the same thing happened. It rained so much all the roads were flooded and when we went out at night for a meal I had to go barefoot and put my shoes on in the restaurant. Thanks Alex.
just back from Palmanova 10 days of 34-36 hotel Tropico great after the Refurb except evening entertainment 0 points they will have to improve that im sure they will .
I wonder if weather patterns are actually changing on the island. For example,we always visit around the first couple of weeks in june. The first few years was just wall to wall sunshine,but the last 2/3 years it has certainly rained more.
Currently in Camp de mar and took videos and photos of the destruction that happened on Wednesday at our hotel from the wind, rain and thunder. Not seen it like that before
What happened to the 364 days of sun Alex. Magaluf strip busy until midnight 😂. Is that when everyone goes home.. btw, can you come save me. I'm on a pedelo trying to get back to the beach. I do have an umbrella though. ⛈⚡.
The sea appears blue because the white sand reflects the blue colours of the suns spectrum whilst water absorbs red colours. ie very little reflection/colour when its cloudy.
The start of the video four twanks walking down the planks,plus I would rather get wet on a rainy day than have a tattoo can't stand the things,I would rather buy a nice picture to hang on the wall and a lot less painful to, unless you hit your thumb with the hammer sticking a nail in the wall to hang the picture on 😅👍

Weather like this immediately has its influence on the holiday atmosphere in the resorts, in the day and also in the nigh, when going out.
Keep up the good work Alex!! Coming to Palma nova for the first time at end of September . Your informative videos helped very much in that decision.

You can take food through security! We always do and it’s never been taken off us !
