  • Released on the obscure Pegasus label in the UK in 1971 `Nina And The Dream Tree` (PEG 5) by `Andy Roberts` (he of Liverpool Scene fame) disappeared almost on release like many such releases on this label (only 10 LP`s were ever released on Pegasus, with 7 more on the reduced titled `Peg` label the company closed its doors after just 1 year which just about tells you how much was spent on promoting its artists), It comes in a single fully laminated `E.J.Day` Sleeve, the one side of the records label has the distinctive `Pegasus` horse artwork which is beautiful to look at. Never seen a Mint copy mine is EX+, a similar copy sold in 2016 for 150 British Pounds so would think a truly mint copy would surely go for more. Musically has some great Acid Folk Sequences that are a real treat. Why not subscribe as I upload rarities regularly
    Side 1
    1. Keep My Children Warm
    2. I`ve Seen The Movie

    2. Dream Tree Sequence
Andy Roberts is an enigma: a man whose story involves playing on hit singles while studying for (and achieving) a law degree in the ’60s; playing on an album produced by Jimi Hendrix; hanging out at Paul McCartney’s place during the Beatles’ studio years; playing the Albert Hall and touring America with Led Zeppelin in 1969; playing both 1969 and 1970 Isle of Wight Festivals; and, a decade later, finding himself a member of Pink Floyd for a couple of weeks. He might also claim celebrity as the Pete Best of The Rutles. And yet who but a handful of connoisseurs and train-spotters on the mighty railway of rock have even heard of the fellow? Simultaneously both an artist and a journeyman musician, he decided to stop making records with his name on the cover in 1973.

loads of people knew his music and he was regarded as one of the very best acoustic guitarists in Britain . His solo work did not make him many fans , but his work with Liverpool Scene is top of the art subculture . Also played for Scaffold . Two sublime compositions can be found on the Urban Cowboy album . Home Again and Grannys Wall .

I'm enjoying this album a lot. Finding channels like yours really fills the hole in my music listening experience, especially since there are no regular shows on radio stations in my area which specializes in music that I like. Consider me a new subscriber!

I found the Urban Cowboy LP by chance back when it was released, an import in the US. Made me a fan. His grandmother and mine had the same kind of room

Andy Roberts: He was in the "Surrogate Band" during Pink Floyd's The Wall tour in 1981 (replacing Snowy White) and can be heard on the live album Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81.

Had the lyrics for 25 hours a day from this album in my songbook for years - without remembering where it came from but I loved the feel of it. Found Nina and the dream tree and loved that .. forgot it for a decade .. started looking again and found it here. Such a lovely album and such a pity Andy Roberts is so forgotten. Not by me any more though anymore. Thanks for letting me reconnect with the album and great songs.

Wow, this sounds like an album by Beck's somewhat depressed grandfather - if indeed his grandfather made records and was somewhat depressed.

Quite a find, I am trying to remember what I was doing in 1971. For sure listening to underground F.M. radio. Although I am pretty sure this is new to me. I really like this LP
    Thank you for the upload

Thanks for the upload, it's a great album. I've actually got the vinyl as Andy Roberts became one of those "must have" artists after I bought the original Home Grown album on RCA after seeing him several times on Granada TV as a member of the Liverpool Scene. All his albums are superb and the only disappointment is that he didn't record more.
One thing you didn't mention in your excellent introduction was that Andy was an original member of Plainsong and continued to play with them until very recently. He still sounds like he did back in those distant seventies too!

I would listen to my vinyl copy through all the wear and tare because it was the only way I could hear it due to dozens of times on my record player. Kinda like this copy!
