there is a high school kid down the street from me that can play every Van Halen lick and solo note for note. I asked him if he could play any Lindsey Buckingham and he laughed and said , "no way, I'm not that good yet " .

Lindsey’s musical talent is unparalleled. Everyone mentions his guitar skills, which we all know are beyond brilliant. But listen to his voice. It’s flawless. I’d bet he has perfect pitch. A true prodigy.

Lindsey’s guitar playing is not talked about enough he blew me away when I saw them live for the first time and he is the coolest part of this version of Fleetwood Mac for me there all amazing but he’s in another world
I was watching this in California at the same exact time of which Christine McVie died, I was marveling how instead of Stevie singing the line with Lindsey it was Christine, and how their voices blended well, and when I woke up later that morning I found out that the songbird had flown away. Rest Easy Christine McVie 🕊️
EPIC EPIC EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what music is suppose to do to you. Grab a hold of you, command you, & then leave you speechless. Oh by the way, to the 7 dislikes. Man there is something seriously wrong with you.
Sorry, but that's exactly the wrong attitude. You don't know why there were dislikes. There are any number of possible reasons. Maybe the song just brought out too much pain on the part of the person giving that dislike. Don't assume too much.
I was at work today and my coworking had this song streaming. I had never heard the song before. It was a live version of the song, not sure if this live version. The guitar just stopped me cold. I just closed my eyes and absorbed the masterful work. I can't believe I don't remember ever hearing this song before. I knew Lindsey Buckingham was good, but...
Actually you are right, this song is not as good as that tour, the harmony on the vocals is terrible, sorry! the Dance is the best. the other one WAS sung with passion, but too much! this version is the best, in my opinion.
I like it because Stevie isn't in it and most of the focus is on Lindsey. Don't get me wrong, she is amazing. But this is his song and with Chris singing back up compliments him so well.
You know, I do agree the vocals are more passionate on this one that in the '76 video. It's clear Lindsey has been through the ringer, it comes through so well in his agonized voice. However I still like the '76 video better. I like the cadence and harmony with Stevie better in that one. Not to say the '82 one is bad... Well, the hair is bad. And the hat. And the vest. C'mon Lindsay! You were a rock GOD, dress like one! lol
Attention all rock icons: Fall in line & salute the uniquely kickass musical genius of master guitarist singer songwriter arranger producer rock icon Lindsey Buckingham! 🎉
I love the way that Lindsey tickles the hell out of his guitar strings producing some of the greatest music to be heard. And this is not even mentioning his great singing. L B is F M !
Lindsey Buckingham is my absolute favorite guitarist. Only saw them twice - once during this tour (in Indy). Both times, despite being in a relatively podunk city - he was the consummate showman/musician. He was as physical a player as he was musical - and singing on top of all that? He was made for giant arenas - standing at the edge of the stage with beautifully lyrical yet intricate solos cutting through the echo of the arena and din of the crowd - coaxing the crowd higher and higher with his guitar, his amazing voice, and frenzied physical presence - with Christine McVie's B-3 throwing up a wall of sound underneath his guitar ... well, it's simply quintessential 60's/70's rock 'n roll.
what an absolute classic and possibly the best version I've heard to date, finger plucking at its best, shame what happened between Lyndsey and Stevie nicks, possibly one of the mac's darkest tunes as well.........thumbs up if you think the solo at the end rocks
The Rosebud version of this song was better. I prefer the white Les Paul he played back then, a more haunting sound. And Stevie harmonizing with Lindsey. Pure perfection!
Oh my Lindsey, you Sir are most definitely sitting alongside the greatest guitar gods of all time. I'm 55 years old, how have I not seen this live performance of this song and so glad I have, least to say, there will be plenty more viewing of this work of art.
Well said and, if you would like to go back in time a little from this one, there is a great version from 1976, before they were mega-stars, outdoor concert called Rosebud, in Santa Barbara, they had just been together about a year. Then, go forward from this one to 1997, The Dance...all are great and you can watch them change. Stevie also sings backup on those versions. Enjoy!
This is my favorite version of this song Lindsey is really awesome So underrated one of the greatest guitar players of all and those vocals he's got the whole package going on And John's got that bass singing
I think one of their personal best. Buckingham Brings out the very best in the dark side of Mac's music. Whatever happened to when music actually was played with true feeling. It's really sad that there are few bands left that can still play with true emotion
It's a dark song and the Rosebud performance captures the spirit. You can feel the paranoia Lindsey was feeling when the wrote it. I have no doubt that drugs inspired some of the best music ever created. The songs from the 60's and especially the 70's are fantastic and original.
Lindsey really pulls through on this one. He can literally make the guitar talk................ One of my all time favorite solos for more than 30 years.
The lyrics are so touching. Not many words but exactly the right ones to make this song so speacial and give this melancholy feeling.....simply WOW!!!!

I've always loved this song, but this live performance just floors me. I LOVE it. Way to go Mr. Lindsey Buckingham.
Stevie is good, but Christine's backing vocals made this song more chilling.
Yes. I mean I know Lindsey and Stevie together is its own tense, beautiful thing, but I have always preferred when it’s him and Christine instead.
Couldnt disagree more. Christine’s keyboards are awesome, but Stevie’s voice compliments Lindsey’s better imo.
Gorgeous vocals, lush - haunting organ, stunning beauty ... the rock goddess.
And the keyboards, but doesn´t appear much in the video.
Plus her keyboard skills put it together
Now THAT is one fecking kick-ass guitar solo. One of the most under-rated guitarists of all time.
Absolutely. On of my top 5 guitar solos.

I been alone
All the years
So many ways to count the tears
I never change
I never will
I'm so afraid the way I feel
Days when the rain and the sun are gone
Black as night
Agony's torn at my heart too long
So afraid
Slip and I fall and I die
I been alone
Always down
No one cared to stay around
I never change
I never will
I'm so afraid the way I feel
Days when the rain and the sun are gone
Black as night
Agony's torn at my heart too long
So afraid
Slip and I fall and I die
