- They're a nice group but unfortunately they didn't really break any barriers and the winners are generally the ones who have the most unique acapella arrangement as opposed to the best vocals so they played it too safe. B
Serious voice control was going on here. Just because it's a simpler arrangement doesn't make them worse than anyone else. Great voices and pretty harmony~
They should have made it past the first round.. Judges dropped the ball big time with that call. One of best performances ever on show

I saw a comment that said something similar to yours, but it also said something like "They would've made it past if Ben Folds was still a judge and not (insert insult here because I forgot what the insult was)." They recently deleted their comment.

Timothy's Gift's opening package, song selection and costumes project a ethereal quality about them. I got goosebumps (slight not too intense), listening to them. Shawn's spot on - Abby is a stand out.

That was so good. I didn't even know there was a sing off 5. I think this group just needs a beat boxer and they would be totally great. So emotional. They had me tearing up by the end.
All I can say is these ladies are so amazing I love you guys!!! MY grandma does a prisoner support group that sends heart felt newsletters out, Christmas cards out to thousands of the forgotten people as she calls it ( prisoners) she put her heart and soul into this and so do you, Its just great!!!!!!

First singer is beyond beautiful and the group is musically sound. They didn't deserve to be in the bottom 3, this was impressive, warm and I would've loved to hear another song from the girls since they don't have a beatboxer. I'm always annoyed that they invite an "old school" style group and knock them out early in the competition.
Would've liked to see them go on instead of Traces. The judges always tend to throw the gospel group into the finals or at least later rounds and I'd like to see them dial back the same ole same ole and let the viewers get a more well rounded taste for what a Capella is.
You gotta give Traces props for what they did tho...The bass and percussion were pretty awesome. But I agree that Timothy's Gift were also great.
guitargeekette My major issue with Traces was they did nothing different. It was just a-typical gospel, sure the fact that they were an all female group with a strong rhythm section was nice to hear...but not overly unique. Ten, Afro Blue, Commited did the same style just better. Like I said, my issue is that they always have the same styles of groups make it towards the finale.
It's always 1 college group, 1 gospel group and 1 contemporary sounding group. That combination always makes it to at least the top 4. It gets old to hear the same sounds just different faces.

I love this performance so much. I just kinda wish they have more to share to us, I mean you do perform for your folks but the what about us T-T I wait on your channel and wish you could share some more performances in RUclips.

I mentioned it in another video, but I'm also sad about this. We don't see any growth from the groups... where they take criticism from the judges. I mean, isn't that the whole point in competition shows?

I was a huge fan of the show and never even knew this season existed till just now by complete accident. In my opinion it was the best musical show on television. season 4 they had the huge holiday edition which was a great episode but to make the whole "season" 1 episode is a joke and a dishonor to these artists.
now my views on this act in particular. this group was awful. the judges and each one of you are lying to these women. i do commend the work they do with their communities but they should not have taken that act to television. Jewel said they weren't "Tinnie"(i don't know how to spell this made up word) but they were most definitely it. Sean spoke about volume. even though he said they were fine the whole second half was three groups, each trying to sing over the other 2 there was absolutely no harmony here.
I don't know who the new guy in Ben's old chair is but you can't replace the only honest judge with yet another kiss ass. Ben Folds would have told them to leave that act in the prison because it was disturbing the peace.
+Ezzy762 The word you're looking for is "tinny" - having a displeasing thin, metallic sound. Also, the new guy is Patrick Stump, lead singer of Fall Out Boy.
