Parts content for the EV tax credit includes North American suppliers so that’s not the reason it currently does not qualify for the tax credit. I was told that Tesla is currently in the process of filing for the credit and it should be point of sale soon, but if you purchase prior to the POS being available you can still claim the credit on you personal tax return.

Going back and forth to compare, the Foundation Series all wheel range with core/cyberwheels is 340/318, and for the non foundation series, it is 325/314. The Foundation Series Beast can ONLY be speced with the all terrain Cyberwheels and has 301 miles range. The same exact range for the Non Foundation Beast, except the NF Beast can be speced with Core wheels and get 320 miles range. It would appear they software lock the non foundation series All Wheel versions battery maybe 3 to 5 kw from the foundation series. Software upgrade in the future perhaps.
I will be getting FSD at no charge with our trade-in since we can transfer FSD from our M3 so that saves us 8K. Not planning on getting the tax credit though.
Premium connectivity is not included which is free internet for life in foundation series..that allows you to watch Netflix with car wifi, the back bed trunk also doesn’t have a divider.
Thanks for the video. I was wondering when these would come out and the differences. However if your not getting certain things then your not saving 20k your just missing some features and getting a lesser priced version. I personally don't see the value in a tesla without the self driving features which is what separates it from any other vehicle available for purchase. They all get you form A to B but the Tesla allows you to not have to use 100% of your attention all the time. Just my opinion
The foundation series has a different operating system, same computer just tweaked operating system. It says that if you would look up the information.
Mine was 8k too, even though I reserved within first minute of launch. I think you needed to select FSD at launch to get the lower the $7k price and I cannot recall whether I did or not.
And if you want FSD now you have to pay extra. This is a good video but I feel like the software needs to be included in order to get an understanding of the process difference
Exactly what I was going to point out-he didn’t mention the FSD and lifetime premium connectivity, which are very significant details when considering the Foundation Series Cybertruck.
Well, Tesla are known for their legal trickery. Perhaps they nobble your battery capacity (and hence range) via a software update ... if they haven't yet done so, they may nobble it later with an OTA update. They'll legally cover themselves by saying you agreed to less range in your Non-Foundation purchase contract
Thanks for the video and the explanation regarding the tax credit. I thought this would be eligible, but now I learned it's not (due to where the material comes from). But wasn't the requirement for eligibility based on where the batteries are manufactured? I thought the batteries are made in the US.
The word is that it does qualify but Tesla just hasn't gotten all the paperwork approved for point of sale rebate. You should be able to claim it on your taxes at the end of the year as a backup.
Don't forget the '$2500 dollar credit you also get toward merchandise or toward installing the house charging connection. Foundation series is definitely worth the additional $20,000., although I wish the foundation series would allow you to have autopilot or nothing
Thanks for the vid. I think this is one of the first non-foundation reviews. Can you speak to the difference in the bed features? For example, which specific hooks are missing in non-foundation. Also any difference in outlets? What about trailer hitch? Thanks.
Are you sure if the 79,900 is going to work for the tax credit, even if you buy it now that it is not in the list? And do you know where to buy the white decor after market?
There are companies locally offering wraps for white decor. Tax credit is only applicable for business buyers only. Hopefully it becomes available for everyone when it qualifies with IRS
Lots of people would pay $40,000 but at twice the price not so many. I think they cheaped out on the foundation Series. This is mid level vehicle at best. Great tech but not much more.
You forgot the PowerShare which is $2500. That comes with the Foundation series. I plan to use my voucher to purchase from the Tesla store when they finally get merchandise in stock.😂
I agree foundation is not worth $20,000 more especially when $7,000 of that is for FSD soft-ware that does not work and you have to babysit it like a bad learner driver. I know Tesla sent me a one month trial on my S and it was awful.

Or they can just slow down production that they did for model x and s and focused on volume selling model 3 and Model Y. I don’t see new one dropping so low, but yes used car market will be flooded.
Four things happened. 1. You’re referring to the rear wheel drive single motor which is not out yet. 2. Cyber truck has several features, not promised in the beginning, such as steer by wire and 4 wheel steering. 3. Gross overspending by the Biden Harris administration has caused inflation. Compound inflation of the last four years has raised prices approximately 25%. 4. Higher than expected demand as well as likely higher cost of production causes high prices. Expect new cyber truck prices to fall in a couple years when they’re at full production, and most of the hype and early excitement is gone. The S and X are much cheaper than I used to be.
Wonder how much efficiency you lose without the tire covers, + - at low speeds, Seeing most of use don't cruise at high speeds all the time. Must let more air flow though the tires, cooler brakes ?
Video: "Let's see if it's worth -$20,000 less." Dunno if it's a better value being less, but it's still not worth $80,000 USD in any case imo.
