How does this compare to the Rode Wireless Pro???

I ditched the rode wireless series after the original couldn't be relied on to record internally due to some occasional errors. Based on my knowledge this is probably similar in many ways, kinda accomplishes the same thing but doesn't come with a lav mic, though My guess is the dji is smaller? Maybe someone can chime in with more info though

No locking mic jack is a huge disappointment in my opinion. Won’t be upgrading from my version 1. Waiting to upgrade to the DR10L pros or wait even longer for a better DJI mic 3. Not a big enough upgrade to justify the cost in my opinion

No locking mic jack AND no hold / lock button I don't think either. Two things I'd like to see though I kinda feel like they won't be implemented

One of the biggest problems with these is that so many short form content creators get them as a one-and-done solution, but completely bypass doing the necessary audio work in post to actually make it sound good.

This one is a tough one for me to decide on. I owned 5 Tentacles Track Es and an InstaMic for speeches. So adding these into my workflow would take some thought from me 😅.
I was more so looking at these for personal reasons when I’m recording myself or two, so I did pick up the OSMO Pocket 3
creators combo…so I’ve had pleasure of working with one of the Mic 2.
I do love the unit just not sure if I would want multiples at this time, nice product though.

Good advice. I didn't get the first DJI mic, so this is definitely on my wishlist this year.

I find these incredibly useful for weddings. I already own the first version and just received my second version. The great thing is, there's no need to attach these to the bride's dress. From my experience with the first generation, I simply hand it over to the brides, and they discreetly place it inside the front of their dress. It's invisible, creates no bulge, and captures sound effectively from that position. Plus, the tighter the dress, the more securely it stays just above the bust. After the ceremony, the bride can easily hand it back. This is much simpler than dealing with a lapel mic. I'm often too busy to fiddle with that. I've also clipped these to pockets for speeches, attached them to microphones, and even used them as a backup by clipping them to speakers in case of issues with the DJ's feed. They've been handy for capturing ambient sounds too, like when there's a woodwind or string section during the ceremony-I've even clipped them to trees for this. These devices are far more versatile for weddings than most people realize. Just requires a bit of creative thinking in their application. In addition, they come with a feature to lock the record button, preventing accidental activation during use. In my opinion, they are ideal for weddings. Just need to think creatively about how to use them.

I'd still rather use a lav in that scenario. I mean sure some dresses would hide it but MANY dresses would not hid something this thick very well. And again, lav would be my preference for smaller footprint but if convenience was more important for certain situations, I'd prefer the tx660 over this due to form factor, same as for a lot of the backup situations you mentioned. I'll never say they won't work for weddings cuz they certainly will, I just feel there are better options for most scenarios, but again that's just my opinion. If it works for you, it works for you.
Also since you have the second version already, did they fix the issue with ever so brief hiccups or glitches on internal recording? We've both had that happen on the original and it makes audio drift an issue which is a pain point.

I have not experienced brief hiccups during internal recording on the original. I know I usually have multiple files for the ceremony because they run over the 30-minute mark, but I have not noticed it being an issue when syncing the two files into my multi-cam edits. I updated the firmware on my unit a while back, which may have fixed those issues to the point where I didn't notice them. Have you tried updating the DJI Mic 1's firmware to see if this resolves that issue?

Just got mine and picked up an extra white mic as well. I have a wedding in a couple weeks and will try them out.
I was thinking about the new RØDE system, because of the 32-bit internal recording (yes, I have had clipped audio), but these are smaller, and I like the on-camera receiver better than what RØDE offers (I already own a couple of the previous RØDE Wireless Go II sets).

Do you plan on recording the feed from the receiver onto a camera as well as record onto each of the transmitters internally? If so, let us know if the internal recorded file still has some of the Drifting issues that the first version did.

@@WeddingFilmSchool - Yes, I was planning to record to camera in addition to internal recording. I also have a few *Instamic* units that I prefer to use if I'm not recording to camera.
Didn't know about the drifting issues, but I use *PluralEyes* which corrects for drifting.

@ThouShaltNotBlink sadly, I don’t think a giveaway with DJI is in the cards right now. We will be doing some great giveaways with Lumix and a few other people though.
