Surprised to see no comments below from citizens of countries like US, UK, France, Canada that took part in the Liberation of France June 6th 1944 Normandy Invasion Operation Overlord against the Nazis. Shameful and insulting! Being a guy from India i am commenting here what about rest of the people??
On June 6th France tasted freedom and Liberty after 4 years of cruel Nazi rule.God bless the souls of the fallen during combat and aftermath of D-Day. The lucky ones are still alive but the generation is gone now. Most are dead now. (Saving Private Ryan Band of Brothers my fav movie and tv movie on D-Day)
'Mop A France' (died for France) from a WWII encyclopedia touches my heart even to this day.
We Indians lost 1 Lakh men fighting the Nazis, Japanese and Italians during WWII. We fought from the Italian towns of Monte Casino to the jungles of Burma during World War II. No memorial for our fallen officers and dead soldiers answer that Great Britain and United States. shameful!
