Military cadets, and equivalent, are the most loyal and have the most energy for this kind of thing. To the point that cadets were many of the last groups loyal, standing, and remaining at their posts during the final Russian revolution. They ran out of ammo, and stood up on the large firewood piles to be finished off by the leftist rebels attacking the government buildings. Then in the following days they were hunted down and any cadets found anywhere were brutally executed.

Putin wasn’t invited because it was a “celebration” of The D Day landings, Russia wasn’t involved in D Day, and Putin himself said the landings played no part in the victory of WW2. Merkel was invited because many innocent German lives were lost that day, the German soldiers only did what they had to, most didn’t agree with what they had to fight for. They’re just as much victims as the Allied troops who didn’t return home.
This is history and today, we are at peace and are allies. We shouldn't let evil forces run our countries, far-right, far-left politics, extreme views, etc. It's the responsibility of us and future generations go to war. So many good people around the world don't want war, but it's the few people in power, and few with evil intentions, that influence others to divide us. Hoping for long lasting peace to all people in the world.

Of course. That's what the monarch does, in theory, and always. She stands up for her country, the Commonwealth, it's allies and what's truly noble in the world. If or when an English monarch doesn't do that they're unworthy of their crowns.
Glad to see Frau Merkel attending those celebrations. After all, D-Day paved the way not only for the liberation of France and the Benelux countries, but also, let us not forget, for the liberation of Germany itself from the Nazi regime.
May we never forget the great sacrifice the Allied Forces made in order to free Europe and the world. It took all of these nations to achieve this. I am American. I was the camera operator tracking in front of the stage on the left hand side. It was a privilege to work on such an important occasion. Aside from all the heads of state i filmed, it was an honour to film and be amongst the brave veterans, hearing their stories and remembering the sacrifices they made in the name of peace. It remains the highlight of my career,
I'm an American, my grandfather was a Greek Cypriot who served in the British Army in North Africa. My other grandfather served in the US Navy in the Pacific. I miss them both, somehow they made it. They taught me so many valuable lessons in life about honor and humility. May we forever be bonded together, let us never be separated.
As an ex service man and having served in both Iraq and Afghanistan I can only imagine the sheer scale of D Day and what these young men went through on the morning of June 6th. I have the upmost respect for each and everyone of them and we should be forever grateful for there sacrifice they made to allow us the very freedom we all enjoy and take for granted today. We will always remember them.
I remember on the 79th Anniversary recently, Woody.EXE held a memorial at exactly 6:30am and I was crying already. I’m very proud of him for organising everything and we both are heading to Normandy next year for the 80th anniversary in 2024
I agree. Have you seen pictures of European cities before they were liberated by the US army in WWII? It was totally awful. There was no diversity and multiculturalism. Everybody was white. There were no people of color that add vibrancy of today. There was no LGBTQ rights and free pornographic art. Nazis did everything to stop advancement in that field. Have you heard what happened to Magnus Hirschfeld and his institute under Hiler's rule? Thank you, brave American soldiers!
Honestly, if the day comes where we say thank you, it will be a truly sad day, for the only we could repay fully what they did would be to do the same thing, to sacrifice our lives for future generations. The best way we can thank them is to do the best we can to maintain peace.
He expressed this to the RAF and aircrews during the Battle of Britain with very little pilots and planes and heavy losses won over the Luftwaffe if they hadn’t we would have been invaded

This was an OUTSTANDING tribute to all who participated in D-Day. My father was part of the 8th air force B-24 bomb group that flew in 3 days after D-Day to start bombing into France and Germany. I have his prayer letter from Gen Eisenhower. What a beautiful prayer it was. God Bless the WW2 generation and RIP to those departed.
@Bobojane Spanere go and ask any 2nd WW veteran from britain that the role they played was little compared to russia and america. i bet for a 99yr old he would still give you a sore jaw. be humble in the presence of greatness and learn respect. they have been through things that would reduce you to a bumbling crying mess thats for sure or you could continue your pathetic attempt at baiting.
Bobojane Spanere oh piss off, the British people alone won the Battle of Britain survived the Blitz, continuous V1 and V2 bombing near the end of the war. Not only were British forces instrumental at D Day and in the battle of France afterwards, for reference look up the Great Swan where British armies pushed all the way to Brussels whilst Patton went into Britanny. Not only there but also in Sicily, Italy and crossing the Rhine into Germany. It wasn’t only American supplies that sustained the Soviet war effort but also British weaponry such as the Matilda tank and other supplies and might I mention that it was British sailors and Royal Navy which guarded these vital supplies into the artic to Murmansk. So stop trying to downplay the British war effort, the British people suffered gravely in the war (not to the extent of the Soviets) and sacrificed much to bring an end to the war - if Britain had capitulated in 1940 then Russia surely would have fallen as over a million Germans manned the Atlantic wall to stop an allied invasion
@Bobojane Spanere you lack any knowledge of history my friend and would do well to educate yourself on this matter, until then all the best. I wont lower myself to your petty standards. Keep being yourself, one day it will come back around and i hope you are prepared.
@Botswana Insight so how did Britain win the battle of Britain defeating their airfoce when they were out numbered? How did Britain win the African campain and the middle east?

@Ferdy Holim The American Flag looks even better. With Over 200 Years we've never changed the entire design, Just removed the saltire "X" and the cross then added Bright Patriot Stars. Compared to the American Ensign and the Canadian Ensign, the Flag of the United States shows more character and History of a nation who had Patriot bodies scattered across the field so that flag can remain flying Today. Even with the flag rusty it still looks badass. Edit: The Canadian Ensign just shows that the United Kingdom is more powerful than Canada as Canada was the one being ruled and Britain was not the one to be ruled.

The 16 year old French resistance fighters letter , is one of the most beautiful and brave I’ve ever heard , a 16 year old willing to lay down his life for the freedom of his country , even when he knew death was coming still says long live France . It pains me to know that there’s so many heros that story we will never hear or remember.
And then he surrendered

Putin wasn’t invited because it was a “celebration” of The D Day landings, Russia wasn’t involved in D Day, and Putin himself said the landings played no part in the victory of WW2.
Merkel was invited because many innocent German lives were lost that day, the German soldiers only did what they had to, most didn’t agree with what they had to fight for. They’re just as much victims as the Allied troops who didn’t return home.

The Canadian red ensign looks great.
Ferdy Holim The green maple leaves.
