You're def my fav reactor to watch on YT bro. TEAM CHOPPY DROP!!!
Thank you my bro much appreciated thanks for watching!
Slaves and Bulldozers is a MUST if you want to experience Chris’s true vocal abilities!
absolutely!!! It's crunchy, juicy and grimy!
My God, I couldn't agree more. His vocal performance on it is an absolute force of nature!
My favorite Soundgarden tune!! Also my favorite band ever!
Chris Cornell is one of the greatest singers of all time.
One of my favorite Soundgarden tracks - the drums are rumbling, the bass and guitar go apeshit and Chris R.I.P. is so raw and powerful. RUSTY CAGE is a face melter
This whole album bro! Epic. Literally pick any song, and you're onto something special :)
In my top five fav albums of all time.
💯 I’ve been obsessed with this album since it’s release… obviously 😊🤘
I bought this, put it into my cars CD player, listened all the way to the end, then ejected it and threw it out the window... superunknown is a better album in every possible way
Slaves and bulldozers is my favorite off this album, I'd recommend checking out blow up the outside world by them. Cornell is one of the best vocalists of all time.
How 'bout some "Rusty Cage" next? My fav from this album.
Talk about crunchy grooves! YES
His voice on that was next level.
That. Riff. 🤘🏽
Thanks Bro, besides appreciating this incredible song, your comments on the lyrics are right on point. I saw an interview with lead singer Chris Cornell (RIP) many years ago and he lamented the religious fanatics that blasted the band for sacrilege. He pointed out the song was actually protecting the crucifix and it’s meaning from the fake religious leaders who exploited it for power and money, as you suggested. 👍🏼
Let's not ignore the politicians that wave the cross as a flag to follow them when they really have no belief or principals beyond helping themselves.. it's just a calling to a group of people.
sevsimo, the lead singer, Chris Cornell, ends up joining forces with Tom, Brad, and Tim from RAGE Against the Machine and AUDIOSLAVE is born. One badass Rock band. One badass Rock band name. ✌️
Chris Cornell not only has the most rocking scream, but his melody vocals are angelic! Also, after Soundgarden, Chris formed the band Audioslave with the members of Rage Against the Machine!!! 😁🤘❤️🎼
"4th of July" is another Banger from Soudgarden. Chris Cornell was an absolute Beast of a vocalist. Another one is Chris` Collab with Pearl Jam, the Band is called Temple of the Dog the song is "Hunger Strike".
Say Hello 2 Heaven is a beautiful TotD song Chris wrote for Andy Wood. His voice is just something else in and of itself.
Great band! I would do Outshined next if you want the essense of this mighty grunge band.
So many good songs.
That song is outrageous indeed
Got goosebumps even before it starts........my first listen was 1992.
Same album, Rusty Cage.
Make sure it's the full version.
You WILL NOT be disappointed.
Yeah, i hate it when people use the short version that leaves out the best part.
I'll always remember this video popping up on Headbanger's Ball...we were all like, "Um, ok, this isn't 'metal,' but it sure as hell is SOMETHING..." Then, Superunknown came out a few years later. Now THAT is an album worth a deep dive. The pinnacle of 90's rock.
It is SO much fun to see people learn our music.....my generation had THE best music period.
Whole record slaps. Superunkown is also amazing.
That whole album is great
“Think for yourself, question authority. “
Someone enjoys Third Eye
This whole album is FLAWLESS!!!!
You definitely need to do their song Slaves and Bulldozers
best "Seatle scene" band ( along with Alice In Chains ) - room a 1000 years wide , the day I tried to live , fell on black days , pretty noose , 4th of july are just amazing songs !!!
Great choice Sev great song, another good one is Mind Riot if you haven't done it before 👍
No joke, I just ordered this classic album and it came in the mail yesterday. Weird
Humble yourself...
❤
You rock, Sev!!!
Loved this reaction. My brothers and I would listen to this album on repeat as kiddo's when CD players were cool as hell
You'll Love Outshined Bro.
This is the Soundgarden song people have been suggesting to you? Hmm, that's unexpected
That song kicks ass
Rusty Cage or Outshined are usually the first I'd recommend, but this is a great song too!
Well it is one of their heaviest songs lol.
I agree, it's more metal than some of their other work, maybe that's why it was suggested? For what it's worth "Spoonman" is one of my favorite tracks.
Drawing Flies for me.
Outshined is 🔥
Room a thousand years wide … and my fav … searching with my good eye closed
So if you like Chris Cornell's singing, I suggest the whole library of Soundgarden, also the band Audioslave and the side band called Temple of the Dog.
Yeah, I mean, I guess this is "old," but it feels like last year for us...um...old guys.
Soundgarden ❤ one the Greatest 🔥🌍✌️
I know very little about this band because, for some mysterious reason, they didn't get the broad fame that Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains achieved here in Brazil (their first concert here happened only during the Lollapalooza 2014...). I liked a lot how they sounded in this song and the vocalist owns a quite good voice! I got curious to listen more from them, thanks :)
Also check out his follow up band Audioslave - you'll be glad you did
Soundgarden is just as good as Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Both of which I also love.
@@Prone2Thrill Thank you for the recommendation, I'll check it for sure!✌
@@vertigus28 That's awesome, I'm looking forward to discovering more from Soundgarden (better late than never)!😀
I dig the fact that you looked up the meaning. A lot of people seem to take Chris' lyrics literally, when most of the time they're much greater than the sum of their parts and he often writes in metaphors.
I recommend Beyond the Wheel, studio version.
People love this song but it's never been one of my favorites and I like Soundgarden a lot
"Rusty Cage" or. "Outshined" off the same album. ❤
Gotta do Rusty Cage next
Oh wow! This is an early teen album for me! Can’t wait to listen to it with you later!
R.I.P. Chris Cornell! another crazy rabbit hole to fall in! crazy song! crazy video too that goes with this song! Their drummer is now the drummer for Pearl Jam (many years now) and Chris sang for Rage Against The Machine when they lost their singer! (a new band called Audioslave at the time!) the rabbit hole deepens to no ends! keep having fun!
Room a thousand years wide is amazing by these guys
I'd rather suggest you "Rusty Cage" & "Outshined" from the same album.
I didn’t really give SG much thought until I heard this whole album and my mind was blown, I still haven’t checked out much of their other stuff but this record is dirty and dusty and I love the more Desert Rock-ish vibes it has compared to their other “Grunge” counterparts
Their next album, superunknown is infinitely better than this one
As a Desert Rock enthusiast-I feel your comment.
Good song, but there are so many more FANTASTIC songs by Soundgarden, stick with em! You will not be disappointed.
This album was on constant repeat for me through Middle School and High School back in the 90's. Just an epic masterpiece of sound and vocals. God Bless.
Really not see this coming, as i say grunge era was Gold, i got my favourites of that time but we here for the kings of CHOPDROPS. . Puppet Master- Thy art is murder, Alien weaponry Kai tangata or tangaroa, sepultura - convicted in life or desperate cry. Gojira - Satan is a lawyer or flying whales. Opeth - to bid you farewell or Harlequin Forest. More Meshuggah - straws pulled at random, corredor of chameleons, or break those Bones whose sinews Gave It motion. But i Love you reactions Man keep rockin!!!
Its a mat... with different conclusions... you can JUMP to.
Love this SHIT
Beyond The Wheel (Germany song 8 0f 8)... Nobody can sing like Chris!!!
Clouds over California. Devildriver. The lead singer had a band in the 90s called Coal Chamber. Nu metal era
He’s talking about Perry Farrell from Janes Addiction
Chris Cornells work with the band Audioslave is his best work. Try Show me how to live.
This song is unrelenting and incredible but... It's so bizarre, at first, you gotta hear it at least four times before it truly kicks your ass and changes your game. By the way, there's no such thing as LOOPING in rock and roll. Dudes are playing instruments in time. Period.
Their timing is impeccable. Which is why I recommended 'Gun' 😁
Love Soundgarden! Rusty Cage from the same album is the one that got me hooked
"OUTSHINED" and "RUSTY CAGE!! ARE MY FAVORITE!! CHECK THOSE AWESOME SONGS FROM SOUNDGARDEN! RIP CHRIS CORNELL 😇 ❤️🩹 🌹 🤘✌️
There's a Redux of Superunknown, their next album, with covers of the album by prominent metal bands. Beastwars, from Wellington, New Zealand did a brutal version of Fell on Black Days
My favourite band along with TOOL, AIC, QOTSA and NIN
There's a song by A Perfect Circle call Talktalk that kind of hits on the same subject.
Oh no… the Leb…
great breakdown...hypocrites DO suck.
Bruh, Soundgarden will blow your mind! Chris Cornell is the most badass singer EVER!
One of the stories I heard at the time was that the song was also lambasting popular rock and pop singers who had a habit of standing like that in front of their audiences (Bono from U2, Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode, and Michael Hutchense from INXS are just a few I've seen do it).
Well, Depeche Mode had a song called "Your Own Personal Jesus," so I wouldn't be surprised.
requesting: Prison song System of a Down live pinkpop 2017
OUTSHINED!
Tool Army patiently waiting 😆
😆😂🤣
Bottom will hopefully be next ❤
@@rhiannonleejames7173 that song means so much more, if you're aware of Rollins and the influence hes had on so many lives. 😊
Another FANTASTIC reaction!! #TEAMCHOPPPYDROPS
Definitely check out Outshined next
🖤🎶
Thank you! 🙏🙏
You need to listen to porcupine tree: arriving somewhere but not here live version. Another rabbit hole. Enjoy !!
Slaves and Bulldozers my dude
kyuss - green machine
15 years minimum indeed, the song had been released 32 years ago when you reacted to it. Soundgarden is worth explosing more.
G.o.a.t.
There is a reason that the first sin listed among the 7 deadly sins is pride.
if you like bass soundgarden's bass and drum is the heaviest in music.
Congratulations!
You've now be exposed to one of the 2 greatest male vocalists to ever have their voice recorded for posterity (Freddie Mercury being the other)
Badmotorfinger is also one of the few 'perfect' albums IMO... No skip songs.
BUT...!!! Im going to recommend you go back to an earlier album and check out their song 'Gun'.
More ecclectic. Less refined. And in an age before click tracks, the epitome of a band being in perfect timing synchronicity 😁
i've never been a fan of this song. check out spoonman, blackhole sun, rusty cage, or outshined. they are all really good songs.
This song does kick ass but I'm surprised that this would be suggested as your first Soundgarden experience. The song in the movie Collateral (name escapes me atm) is what I'd have suggested
Shadow on the sun - Audioslave
Do you do donations for request? Bro you been doing a lot of great request
And congratulations on hearing Sepultura ! They put out one of the best Metal Albums of all time on this planet !
Hey brother happy to check out a song with just a comment a donation is not required 🙏
I known two more bands at the crunchy level you want! But this band best ever vocalist bro, they just dropped a album. Check out👇🏽
Within Temptation - Bleed Out (official music video) or Audio is fine but the video is what everyone really likes. Your the man !
@@sevsimo
@sevsimo u just stumbled on the best singer of all time...u know how hardcore tool i am...well im even more hardcore soundgarden...please do yourself a favor and start from the beginning and GO...CHRIS CORNELL IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME
Please check out Black hole sun by soundgarden 🙏
Chris Cornell, whether it is with Soundgarden, Temple of The Dog, Audioslave, or on his own is an experience and a half. 'Fell On Black Days' 'Spoonman' (which is actually about a real street artist in Seattle that plays the spoons) 'Like A Stone (Sessions @ AOL ... acoustic version of the Audioslave song)' 'Day I Tried To Live'..... just search Chris and pick a song, truly. Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, another on it's own experience voice, had a couple of duets with him. So many musical greats gone too soon.
Love love love Soundgarden, but i wouldn't have chosen this song as a first pick.
Try SLAVES AND BULLDOZERS.
Hi there! It's been almost 50 days without Pink Floyd reaction. From what I see what you like, the groovy song Sheep is the best choice for the next reaction!
Another Pink Floyd reaction coming soon!
Anything off of Louder than Love, I think, is superior to badmotorfinger. Just my opinion.
This and Spoonman are the only Soundgarden songs I skip. Not that they’re bad, everything else is so so so much better.
Next please try something heavy & awesome like Limo Wreck, Rusty Cage, Mailman, Drawing Flies, 4th of July…
Mate, try "The Day i Tried to Live". You'll love it. That distortion at the end is the epitome of grunge, and u r right, you will struggle to find a better vocalist than Chris Cornell. Do yourself a favour, and react to his version of Billie Jean.
Loved soundgardens music(songs I knew). Just saw this song. They obviously knew nothing. about Christ. If they had, he would probably be alive today. All i saw was drugcrazed rantings from his toofalleninward selfconsumed senseofitall thinking. No Drug Addiction means that we could be enjoying more of his talent NOW. And so could his family(his kids).. So despairingly sad of life-ending. May God be kind towards him.
As always, the lyrics come second to everything else in the song for a first reaction. Too distracting. Just listen to the music.
For another Soundgarden reaction might I suggest Ty Cobb? Not a common one, but a deep track with some thrash.
Nah... listen to their best song Slaves And Bulldozers.
Soundgarden is one of those bands that I just couldn't get into. I was exposed to them at the same time I heard the simply legendary albums Ten by Pearl Jam and Blood Sugar Sex Magic by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and I just didn't have the right ears to appreciate them after what Ten and BSSM did to me.
He’s not talking about Jesus at all he’s talking about famous people being looked up to and them look at poor old me even though they are wealthy. Cornell believed that Christ and his teachings were good to live by
That song didn't sit well with u bud
Great band! But I think they have many songs better than this one you should check out.
One of their worst songs. Can't believe this is what ppl have been requesting. Try "Rusty cage". Johnny Cash even did a remake of this song.
Great singer, but his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
