I think if you set the peak brightness too high, you will lose many texture details. And if you set paper white too high, the game will look beautiful in daytime(if your eyes can handle the brightness), but at night it'll be too bright to look realistic.
I look's so much better now, not that it was really bad but now I can't believe how beautiful it look's. I can't help myself from just stopping to take a look around at all the beautiful scenes. I just got my 8k Q950f and it upscale the picture to near perfect resolution. I can't wait to get the next generation of consoles to see what even these game's look like. I am using q80r and the night looks awfully very bright. It is almost feel like in the day. I always turn off contrast enhancer in game mode and also i dont use dynamic contrast stability. Even with paper white at 80 it is still very bright.
For me i figured my own solution out... multiply your TVs nits by 2 for Game Peak brightness setting i have a Q6FN which tops 1,000 nits so i set peak brightness in the game to 2,000 then i set the paper white to 200 and it looks very good
The hdr calibration in this game sucks. I thought the problem was my tv, but I have a tv that is an upgrade of yours (samsung q70t) and my game was dark as fuck. That was because I was following the instructions on the game, so I stopped the brightness slider at 900. Going to crank that shit right up once I get home
I'm not sure how people are seeing much of an improvement. On my TCL P605, black levels and saturation are still terrible for me in HDR. Even the luminosity seems pretty muted compared to most of my other HDR games. I'll probably have to stick with SDR.
I have recently tried this settings and it looks amazing, my question is why do you use warm 1 rather than standered or cool in the colour tone as standard and cool look a little brighter than the tone of parchment on warm 1 many thanks
@JoelsterG4K have you encountered a problem with inversed colors and missing letters in RDR2? Deselecting Allow HDR10 makes colors correct but still black screen during gameplay.
Does your TV have the Tru-motion setting? If so do you use it? I found it made the frames way better in most my games (and it doesn’t actually improve the frame rate on your game) you can look into how it works. But I feel like Tru Motion on almost max, and using a One X it would look crazy good in terms of frame rates. EDIT: I actually saw it when you went through your settings it’s called Auto Motion Plus Setting. Try turning that on and you should notice clearer frames when turning your camera. The only thing is that this may cause some input delay, but I’ve been playing with it on forever and you get used to it and do fine in Online shooters and stuff.

This feature actually is the best thing that can happen to pc gamers who don't have a high end system. Simply force the game to 30 fps and turn the "motion interpolation " option on your tv on high. The game will almost look like it's running at 60 fps, which means you can play most newer games on high or ultra at 1080p .

The q8fn from last year if you can still find it...Best buy still has it available. I just bought the q6fn 65inch from last year and it's a good TV but there is some light bleeding.

Although I have one question, how come on your TV (Q60) when adjusting the Peak brightness, the logo disappears onlu on 8000 (or high 7000-something, if I recall correctly). However, I own a Q85 (Q80) model and the logo disappears on 900-1000 and I don't get why could that be the case. Also with the Paper White setting, even at 80 I can see visible logo. Not sure why is there such a difference and also not sure how in that case I'd have to adjust it accordingly. Thanks for any comments. Cheers.

I did 1500 peak & 180 paper white on my q6fn. Just seemed like the middle small mountains in the far back cam into view the best at that setting. But always adjust to the best it looks for your eyes.

They are alright, they are IPS TVs so contrast is not that great, blacks are more dark gray than blk. But colors look great, also viewing angles and they support Dolby Vision and Atmos.
JoelsterG4K I guess it just doesn’t support hdr. The copy of rdr2 I got was off of amazon and the case was missing a Microsoft logo on it and the case said disc made in Mexico. The game plays fine and nothing has broke yet. Does the game seem fake and should I worry?
I think it does actually I have the 49nu8000 in my basement strictly for gaming & it does offer both game motion plus & freesync so most likely just 60hz on both since it's a 60hz panel on the 49 inch.

What HDMI port do you have your xbox one x connected to? And does it matter which one it's connected to?

Freesync only works with games that are 60fps or higher, this game is locked at 30fps so I use game motion plus instead for a smoother gameplay.
