This is the exact venture that Im about to start on my '67 c10 CST . My truck was sitting outside at the neighbor's house for more that 17 years and he died in 2015 so i was able to acquire the truck in the estate sale. Shes rough but this should be a fun journey and a great learning experience.
Well, while I'm not fond of cutting down a perfectly good long bed, at least the music you have playing isn't hip hop or rap...I'm currently doing rust repair on my '69 long bed...I've started with my doors, cab will be next...wish I was already done & driving it...
‘67 small window here. Did the exact same thing, replaced both inner and outer rockers, kick panels, most of the driver’s floor and drip rail on left side with the rear bend. Didn’t have to do cab corners. Pays to get the better GM licensed patch panels because they actually fit, so much garbage out there.
@peterfraumeni5582 I have a 67 factory a/c truck, considering resto based on that alone. Question for you, what are/where your sources of info regarding your restoration of your truck?
i have a extra cab that is rust free 68 air condition cab just sitting i am so glad i don't have to play with rust. my next project is a 79 z28 rs t top have 2 extra hard top z28's for parts can build one perfect body with no dings or rust plus one came with new interior got all 3 for free plus i have a bunch of rust free square body trucks just sitting that i got for free over the years. i never turn down a chevy for free. i been collecting rigs for over 45 years only keep the good ones part out the bad ones
WoW, loud music surrounded be quiet vocals. This is unpleasant to my 64 year old ears. Even though I have stood in the front front row of dozens of concerts from Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes to Kansas to the Tubes & KISS at Kemper arena in KC. Loss of hearing after 38+ years in shops as sun screen in 1970 was called “Dirt”. Can’t take the noise!!! DK, ASE master tech since 78. Rebuilding a 67 C10 but not this much rust! Best of luck…
Hahah I know I was experimenting with the sound. What about Willie Nelson?!?! I have never been I would probly be to hammered to remember hahaha. I konw I dont know what I got myself into with this one!!! I would like to see what you have done on your!!!
@@abinnovations6699 Well, if the spinal cord stimulator guy is right, the 85 year old Dr will be contacting about reposition electrodes in my spine. They chose T8-T12 (3” /7.5cm) as signal goes down legs into heels, instead of above the belt line to L5-L2, where it has alway hurt since 2011, then worse each year. They do a 6 day trial, electrodes in & stimulator taped on back. It went up and after 3 day got better up to 60-70%. Being conservative at this point. Got Auth and skipped a step. My GP said his buddy who implants these and a patient he sent to my Dr provide a surgical transcript. My Dr placed electrodes, ask for patient to be woke, turn over to implant tech who turned up the volume so to say, but asked the patient where he felt it. 20 questions later, put him back to sleep and made pocket under the skin, pulled wires thru, hooked up and glued skin together. The same Dr skipped that step. 7 time they have adjusted settings, software and no luck. Last time, lady scientist with calculator with more buttons than “Chins in a Chinese Phonebook”. Still, goes down into heels. You own a Fluke 87-V, is the thing in backwards, reversed polarity? Know ones knows. I am in bad pain from a 5hr work my boss got an ear full while in front of my toolbox. The fall of 1986! Older, you don’t produce collegian which causes wrinkles but lubed blood vessels and nerves passing thru muscle tissue. My low back muscle are scar tissues. That is why they started hurting again. The same Dr did radio frequency ablation both side of lumbar in 2017. Nothing, like eating a bottle of tick-tacks, breath better but still had sour stomach. Crazy. Truck on hold as I turn 64 and listening to verbal abuse from 37yr son w/2kids & dog but wants one car re-wired and the other rust patch welded. I am 6’3” but he gets lippy, no respect, drops SnapOn wrenches in yard, driveway like old French fries. I called cops on him twice, but he lyes his way out, I get a card with phone numbers handed to me while bleeding! I like to research paint, high build, epoxy coatings and other rebuilding these wonderful old classic American trucks. Just raised at a different time, farm, no allowance so go to neighbors and throw hay for $0.03 cents a bale. Plow fields, fix motorcycles for buddies, then their mom shows up with Datsun 510 pickup needs water pump, then Opels from high school senior as I was freshman. Saw a guy on a Honda CB350 one day, spoke up I want one, buddy say his older brother has one. $12 later, I get a Yamaha step-thru in boxes. Buy metric sockets, wrenches at a grocery store. 26 miles to city. Found I could weld, fix stuff with metric tools and make money. Never went to trade school just got bad sick, no check so went to dealer in city, they needed an automatic tech. Threw a list of jobs together and sent to dealer across the street, owned a block of 5 dealers together. Hired and went to work that day. Datsun’s 1975, me & father-son, just 3 of us. Service mgr asked me to take 8 test, offered 5 cents per flat rate for each passed, hell ya! I’ll take a $40 cent pay raise. Forgot about them, 2-3 months passed, mgr pulled in his office and saw big-wigs there, though I was getting fired? He open a package and read the all the test given, I had missed only 3 questions and had second highest score in the nation…got 40cents, ASE Master patches and went from there. Do you remember a day before marriage you had an un-cashed check from last week and this weeks check was an hour old???? Many moons ago. Many moons. I am alway available, I have GM service on CD from ACDelco days but stops at 2004. I have 03 Tahoe engine ready & 700R4 I build two winters ago to handle 600+ horse pony’s! I took everything off the Tahoe & using the BCM, TAC, PCM all inside standing upright in console. Wires all going thru firewall behind engine. I have everything except epoxy, paint & clear. Raptor on epoxy under cab, large rear window, theft, power windows, RKE, light control, horn, warning chimes thu LF speaker. The decide on a pattern, sew Brown Colorado Distressed, w/White leather, brn carpet and paint, white over metallic copper & clear. Some gaps, metal work, but mostly sanding. Just hope elbows hold up! I will be watching, subscribing today, thought I did but forgot or wife called. Hadn’t had cell since 08, iPhone 6S if fine for me. DK, Omaha. ACDelco instructor since 01, contract w/Raytheon.
Watch paulk_c10 he made a wood stand and rolled cab on back once metal work was done. I would use 2X6 carpet over foam, at floor level then roll back. He cleaned then sprayed Raptor on bottom. 55sq. ft. of killmat on floor, sound deadening materials. Great work! DK, Omaha.
Before weld tacks. Flat Top Sheetmetal Screws on all the panels. Install The Door With the Weather Strip in Place To Align The Rocker Panel gap and Out Extension. I broke other, People Work, Because they Weld Without The Door and weather strip. To Align The Front Clip Need The Rubber Mounting of the cab and radiator support. To Make all the gap like factory. Am An old guy, I solve all those issues from others mistake. Thanks.
Just liked and subscribed. We have several of the chevy trucks in our collction. And three are 67's one has the optional large back glass. We have video on our channel
Love the build! I know it's been awhile since this was posted, but do you remember the dimensions of the cart and if you were to build another cart, what would you do differently?
Did you make the replacement panels or order them? We have my wife’s family 1966 C10 stepside that’s going to need a lot of work and I’ve never done any type of body work.
It’s worth the effort in finding a donor cab without so much rust… they’re out there… just saying 😊 My cab was slowly bang in behind the gas tank with metal pipe I’m guessing the bed & cab are pretty bad… as for rust almost perfect… lol almost

Where did you get your replacement rockers at ?
They seam to fit pretty nice
