Russ, there is another car collection in the Riverside Casino and is down stairs. It's in the front of the building with a lot of windows at Riverside Casino on the same road you stopped to make a left turn. I don't know if you knew about it or not. Take care. Safe travels.

Another good one to dream of the desert and warmer weather. Like you say, it does get there. I parked too far away from a casino one summer and unaccustomed to blast-furnace temps,..wondered if I'd make it to the front door. WOW. The heatwaves rising off the asphalt suck the oxygen straight up into the ether.
Had sun this morning on the central pacific coast but hunkering down for what's coming - it's clouding up and winds are starting to pick up. Rain on/off as far as the forecaster can predict in the coming weeks. One year, rained all the way into June! We need water but I need sun too! 🌞 Cheers. 👍

I got a Route 66 shirt here at the gift shop, that every time I wear it, I get compliments on it.
Hey Russ, thanks for showing off the museums! I've always just driven through Laughlin on the way to someplace else...now I have a reason to stop. The '55 Buick at 35:37 is just like the one my family had when I was growing up. I remember we had one of those evaporator window-mounted air conditioners that didn't work too well 🙂. I don't recall if you've been to the car museum in Reno--it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Until next time, happy trails!

Hi RVerTV, Did you know that the Vought-Sikorsky VS-300 R&D helicopter from 13 May 1940 had a Franklin car motor built in it. It was a straight 6 cylinder and air cooled.

I've Stayed at the Riverside overlooking that Island at least 10 times and have never noticed the Goats. Are they there all the time? Does not look like there is much/any shade for them.

My bother's very first car was a 1957 turquoise blue Chevy that looked identical to the one in the museum. He bought it in 1964 and sold it in 1968, and my family lived in Phoenix, so for all we know it could be the same car. Laughlin sure has changed. It's turning into a nice alternative for Las Vegas. Las Vegas has gotten out of control. It's become too much like LA.

The one thing you cannot get at the Riverside Casino is Budweiser beer. Don Laughlin got pi**ed off and refuse to allow the sale of Budweiser in his casino. Did you know that??
Years ago, I heard a bartender get PO'd because they were tired of people asking for BL, as they no longer sold it. The owner got into it with a rep and refused to sell any of the products.
Nor Coca Cola. No bacardi coke. It was Pepsi, lol. Must have had the same distributor ?
