    Congrats guys! Man I've been shark fishing the gulf coast since 2001 and this is my dream fish. I literally had goosebumps seeing your excitement. You guys did a great job getting everyone a turn but also getting yourself on that reel to get a quick release and an even better job at getting the leader off that monster tail. I live vicariously through yall when I can't be there and that made my day no joke. I'd love to do some drops with you guys one day. Keep livin the dream 🤙

    I’ll see if I can find the pictures but it’s not the first land based great white in Alabama. I seen one caught 12 years ago in Gulf Shores. My best guess is it was around 8 feet long. They got that bad boy unhooked and sent back without ever bringing it completely ashore with just a few pictures to show for it. I got maybe 20 pictures of it and it was for certain a white shark and caught on a half of a 10lb jack. I know the fish had some girth to it and remains the only great white I’ve seen in person to this day.

      @Bamapride1000 The one from 12 years ago you saw is probably a Mako Shark, they are often mistaken for Great Whites. This Great White these gentlemen caught was indeed the first caught off the Alabama Coast nothing on record shows up so maybe it did happen so long ago nobody thought to report it but as of rn this is the first great white landed from a beach there and that is FU**ING Impressive and awesome as hell!!!👏🏽

      @CoastalWorldwide1 I didn't see a measuring tape and from the size of the people next to it , it doesn't look to be 12ft. Now if it was measured off camera then that is a small 12 footer and those people are big and tall . Seen enough whites in actual habitat in PCB and California to know that is a baby, but I wasn't there and if it was measured off camera and is 12 ft . Then it is very skinny.

  • @maximumwinzTV
    @maximumwinzTV Год назад +1

    Hile its a great catch. One of a lifetime. It doesn't matter as far as any record is concerned. In order to count for anything it should be one angler all the way through. That's just how the rules are. Either way...congrats

    • @CoastalWorldwide1
      @CoastalWorldwide1  Год назад +1

      No doubt! This was on a charter trip so they weren’t ready to crank this in solo on their first shark. As far as a “record” solo angling would be igfa standings which would not only require that but also killing the fish for an official weight.
      With all this being said- the claim was the first ever gw to be caught from the shore in Alabama. That’s all- not a record- just a first recorded.
