- It's high time to film from a Koploper again! Such occasions are rare because the windshield of this equipment is rarely clean. The dirt is always so stuck that the windscreen washer and wiper are of little use. In this video I manage to achieve a certain quality, which actually does not meet my requirements. But because this is such a beautiful long drive from west to east, right through the Netherlands, I decided to publish the film anyway. On the way I receive an instruction to drive carefully due to a person along the track. Enjoy watching!

Het is hoogtijd om weer eens vanuit een Koploper te filmen! Zulke gelegenheden zijn zeldzaam omdat de voorruit van dit materieel zelden schoon is. Het vuil zit altijd zo vast dat de ruitensproeier en -wisser weinig zin heeft. In deze video lukt het me om een bepaalde kwaliteit te halen, die eigenlijk niet aan mijn eisen voldoet. Maar omdat dit zo'n mooie lange rit is van west naar oost, dwars door Nederland, heb ik besloten de film toch te publiceren. Onderweg ontvang ik een aanwijzing voorzichtig rijden vanwege een persoon langs het spoor. Veel kijkplezier!
Let op collega's: als je deze film gebruikt om te wegleren, houd er dan rekening mee dat ik niet kan garanderen dat alle informatie juist is. Ik houd me aanbevolen voor verbeteringen. Veel kijkplezier!

It's feels weird being this close to the catenary wires and at speed, and in the tunnels up near the roof and in stations like Schiphol above the platform ceiling.

Ça on peut le dire que c'est une bien agréable balade, surtout pour celles et ceux qui ne connaissent pas la Hollande et ses trains "panoramiques". En plus de ça, je me suis amusé à ouvrir Google Maps pour suivre en même temps, du début à la fin, le trajet de ce convoi vu du ciel et cela a été une sympathique expérience d'essayer de reconnaître les ponts, les passages à niveau, les gares, les triages, les autoroutes, les usines, les rivières, etc. 😊👍

Jammer dat deze mooie treinen verdwijnen...... Ik was altijd heel blij als ik die grote kop zag verschijnen op het perron, dan wist ik zeker dat het een lekker ritje zou worden! Heel wat uurtjes en kilometers doorgebracht in de ICM.
Zo denk ik daar ook over.

Mooie video! De trein is wel blijkbaar sneller dan de auto's op de autosnelwegen. Tot slot, goede omroepstemmen in de trein!
De trein mag op sommige stukken 140 km/u rijden. Dat is dus inderdaad sneller dan de auto’s op de snelweg

Love the fact that Dutch Railway give their trains "nicknames". As this one "Koploper"" because one can walk through to the next train under the driver, and the first electric train calls "Stofzuiger"as it looked like a (sled)vacuumcleaner. LOL

ICM is het enigste treinmodel van de NS waarop ik verliefd ben.
ik ben het helemaal met je eens dat de ruiten van verschillende treinen niet door heen te kijken valt, ik ben lid van verschillende train cabrides onder andere van rcFred en machinist Stefan en ook daar zie je vervuilde ramen en het is zo jammer het vergalt je kijk plezier als de ramen niet schoon zijn.En verder bedankt weer voor deze schitterende video ;-)
Ik film niet als dat niet kan vanwege vervuilde ruiten. Tenzij het een zeldzame rit is. Alleen bij de ICM neem ik enkele vlekken voor lief omdat daar anders nooit een film van gemaakt kan worden..
Het waren trouwens wel prachttreinen, want door de goede vering zou je eerder verwachten ergens in een huis te zijn dan in een trein. Ik noemde ze echter ook cockpittreinen vanwege de vorm van de bestuurscabines die veel weg hebben van de vorm van een Boeing vliegtuig.
Wat een prachtig uitzicht, Maar nog belangrijker het delen van deze video met ons. Fijne voortzetting van dit zon overgoten weekend.

Yes, that is a really nice view and I'd think a nice plus for you as the driver to be able to see further ahead ... also, keeps you above anything that might come but is not supposed to be on the tracks. However, as a former electrical power engineer, I gotta say that power line so close above kind of freaks me out a bit! 1500 volts DC ... that'd fry up a hot dog pretty quick! As always, really enjoy your videos and traveling along with you ... thanks for posting! [Greetings from Tucson ... we do have a streetcar system with an overhead power line, too!]

Really did enjoy this ride along. You pointed out near the end of this video how a once used rail line was converted into a biking path next the active rail line, question encase of some sort f a emergency can emergency vehicles gain access and use bike paths if a critical situation would arise along the bike pathway?

I have a set of this train for my T-Gauge railway layout. And it is so noticeable that the permanent ways alongside your tracks are not filled with rusty rails, as is the case in Britain.
An ICM in T-gauge? Didn't know it existed.

Dit uitzicht gaat nooit vervelen, dank voor de opname weer!
Tegelijkertijd verbaas ik me er wel over hoe je gewoon op tijd kunt rijden over de hele Zuidtak terwijl de snelheid praktisch maar 1x ruim boven de 70/u uit komt... Zijn we wel aan het zeuren over hoe ons landje propvol treinen zit maar zo benut je als spoorbedrijven de capaciteit in de spits ook niet erg (én ben je dus veel trager dan de auto...).
In de spits rijd ik daar tòch altijd de file voorbij :-)

😅mooi gezicht bij het binnenrijden van Amsterdam zuid ,al die bijzonr gebouwde flatgebouwen,er is er eentje bij waarvan ik denk dat de ontwerpr een borrel te veel op had aan de rechter kant,net of het is ingestord.🤣

👍 Excellente vidéo comme toujours. Ces automotrices ne sont pas belles mais la vue du poste de conduite est superbe et c'est une sécurité en plus pour le personnel qui a un panoramique idéal sur son environnement.
Un seul train de fret croisé, ça montre qu'aux Pays-Bas, le fret par rail est aussi en perte de part de marché...triste!

In de jaren 90 van vorige eeuw was de koppeling tussen de koppen nog open te klappen om zo een walk-through verbinding te maken tussen de verschillende treinstellen die aan elkaar waren gekoppeld: zeer handig, want ik kon me nog herinneren dat het soms zo druk was in een treinstel dat je gemakkelijk via de koppeling tussen de koppen zo een ander treinstel kon bereiken tijdens het rijden, waar je wel gewoon kunnen zitten. Nu is de koppeling dichtgemaakt en hoop je dat het treinstel waarin je toevallig instapte niet te druk is. Ik denk dat deze treinen de beste vering hebben van alle NS treinstellen en ook zeer snel konden optrekken.
Ja, we zullen ze missen..
It's sad that the national rail companies in Europe are retiring their functionally iconic train sets, like Netherlands with this ICM, and Denmark with their IC3. It feels like all the trains are molted from the same cast nowadays :/

I will miss the Koplopers - even though the walk-through ends were sealed before I ever got around to visiting the Netherlands - just because they are such distinctively Dutch units.
But I wanted to ask: is there a pronounced swaying motion when you're up there? Or is it quite well controlled?

Ik merkte dat de conducteur in haar aankondigen 'n verschil maakte tussen Stop-treinen and Sprinters. Is er inderdaad 'n verschil en wat is dat?
Bij het omroepen van de overstapmogelijkheden zeker? Bij NS heet een stoptrein Sprinter, bij andere maatschappijen gewoon stoptrein.
Weer een mooie rit door Nederland! Ik probeer het allemaal bij te houden maar van 5k km is hier niet altijd gemakkelijk: wat gaat de koploper vervangen? De ICNG? Die is wel mooi maar een beetje "cookie-cutter" - die rijdt in veel andere landen ook. De koploper is lekker uniek. Begrijp dat hij toe is aan vervanging na 40+ jaar maar kan het niet iets Nederlands zijn?
Nee helaas kan dat tegenwoordig niet meer dankzij de verplichte openbare aanbestedingen. Het zal weer iets Spaans zijn vrees ik..
@@CabviewHolland Er zijn grotere problemen in Nederland en de rest van de wereld dan hoe de trein eruit ziet, en voor de meeste mensen zal het maar weinig uitmaken hoe de trein eruit ziet als er maar plaats is en hij op tijd is, maar wat mij betreft is het een gemiste kans. Het is niet moeilijk om door een combinatie van plaatwerk en verf er iets unieks van te maken, in plaats van je afvragen of je nu in Almelo of Valencia bent. Gelukkig blijft het zicht naar buiten nog zo mooi... Groetjes uit Albany, NY!

Geel 6: vanaf hier begrenzen naar 60, snelheid niet overschrijden bij volgende sein. Groen knipper 6: voorbijrijden met maximaal 60.

To get more power to the train. Low voltage motors need more current.
Hallo ik geniet steeds weer, alleen jammer dat de uitleg in het Engels is daarom ontgaat mij veel uitleg verder schitterend voor een aan huis gebonden 85 jarige.
Sorry, ik probeer zo veel mogelijk mensen te bereiken en dat werkt met Engels het best. Als het echt niet te volgen is mag iedereen een reactie plaatsen met de vraag om uitleg :-)
