I’m disgusted with gusto of mainstream media so so delighted with the fact that SNP are in trouble but still better than Westminster
Much better than Westminster.
Typical anti British statement.
When will SOMEONE grill Sunak on concealing his wife’s company’s investments in Gazas gas fields , on her numerous companies in Israel and especially Netanyahu’s award of yet another contract to infosys for construction of his intended Ben Gurion canal from Eilat right through the middle of the Gaza Strip ????
The numerous overtly racist comments on social media directed at Humza Yousaf are a disgrace and sickening.
Any racism is sickening . However Humza walked right into it given his white rant when 96% of Scotland remains white, How dare he treat the people that welcomed his parents from withopen arms when they came to Scotland from Pakistan. He should have been forced to stand down immediately .
I was educated in Scotland in the 1970s . We were told at high school that if we had relatives in eastern block countries and we wanted to enter the forces then we wouldn’t get past officer status. What about 2nd generation immigrants ? There seems to be an issue with some of them.Britain Politicians owe a duty of care to the people that elected them and not only to certain cohort.
Finally while support for an independent Scotland has not diminished by a lot , the snp has demonstrated that they are shite at politics and running the country.
@@christinefiedor3518 The Scottish Labour leader, Anas Sawar, made the same kind of speech in the Scottish parliament. It will come back to haunt him as well
He’s inept and incompetent - don’t bring racism into it
@ Stewart oh sht up. If anyone was raycst, it's Mr Youssef. Even as a non-white person, I'm happy to see him gone just as I was happy to see his predecessor kicked out in shame. Absolutely horrendous policies and ideals they both had.
@@christinefiedor3518 "However Humza walked right into it given his white rant when 96% of Scotland remains white" This comment is just the usual racist shit; there was nothing wrong with what Humza Yousaf said at that point.
I'm moving to Scotland. Even when it's "bad", it's still better than England 🏴
I’m English but live in Scotland & yes it’s way better
Really depends mate. Honestly, having lived in both (Scotland more recently) they’re very similar, if not the same. The UK’s not the best it could be to live atm, but it’s not the worst. Don’t move to Scotland expecting better just by virtue of moving because you’ll be disappointed. Move somewhere because you truly want to move there.
I did, it is much better.
I live on one of the Scottish islands and I love it!
As a afghan I will move to Scotland for mountains thanks 😊
Sangita Myska is a perfect addition to our wonderful Novara team
Miss her
Yep, Novara need to headhunt her... LBCs loss is Novara's gain!
Sangita a worthy presenter and journalist👍
Sangita has been diplomatic and accurate with some of the most awful callers and people she has interviewed. I have also missed Mehdi Hasan’s output greatly.
Maybe a slightly reduced remuneration from Novara compared to LBC?
HEADHUNT Sangita Myska!
Scottish "Labour " and the Scottish Conservatives working together sounds very likely, cut from the same cloth.
They have coallitions at any opportunity.
Conservative and Labour Coalitions are common unfortunately
Agree with you they get together to keep snp out
Not much Scottish about them
They are not even Scottish parties but " devolved" branches of the London based parties@@maryotoole7389with Sunak and Starmer as their leaders. Nuff said
I hope the rest of the hosts on LBC are putting pressure on the station to reinstate Sangita the most gifted of them. That pressure should come down to we are going to speak out about this. This can't go on like this if they can't stand up for her what credibility do their shows have?
😂 how naive
@@Millie.com232 But you don’t say why. If they can shut her down and none of them are fighting for her reinstatement then how can we listen to their moral arguments about the current state of politics if they are too afraid to argue for a fellow worker. Are the capitulating to an attack on free speech?
Sunak wont be happy for long. The Irish can deal with every dirty trick Britain can 'imagine'.
but not your own laundry ☺️
@@annychest718 I do believe the Irish shoved all the wasted dirty laundry back to England a long time ago.
Humza, i wish you all the best for you and your family, Freedom For Palatine
I'm waiting for the day a Caucasian becomes prime minister of Pakistan
@@abstraqtphilosophy7357Pakistan is ruled by white people in America, hence Imran khan in prison!!
@@abstraqtphilosophy7357 that already happened 200 years ago
Who's Palatine?
@@abstraqtphilosophy7357hahaha!! Good point.
Im surprised the labour vote for the mayor is so high, given Driscoll has such a good record. I really hope he wins.
Surprisingly, good coverage of the Scottish situation. Well done.
The Lib Dem s and the Greens both found out that propping up a larger party does them no favours
I watch RUclips like they are paying me to view so don't listen to radio, that said I do see a lot of LBC clips and Sangita especially has been fantastic in her recent reporting and asking the questions Israel and it's allies don't want to answer !!
A minor detail I’ve noticed with English speaking Israeli spokespersons is how often they use the word ‘outrageous’ and the exaggerated shock and outraged manor in which they use it. As if they cannot believe an interviewer pushes back. It’s an unimportant observation but once you clock it you can’t stop noticing it. It’s really bizarre
💯
I don’t think it’s unimportant at all. It’s all part of laying the narrative and making sure specific points stick in people’s minds.
Irish minster resigned Scottish minister resign Spanish in process connection support for Palestine.
Such a valid point... Something is going on here and I know it's all linked to Israel.
@@athishamiqbal7011stop reading too deep into it. Scotland and Ireland are insignificant in global political affairs.
Humza Yousaf's resignation, and the events leading up to it, had no apparent connection to support for Palestine, where he and the Scottish Greens are closely aligned.
The new Irish taioseach is also vocal about the war crimes in Gaza.
From my understanding the Irish PM was already unpopular
I am puzzled by Humza's tactics here? The only conclusion I can come to, is he caved in to the reactionaries in the SNP, but why he would do this, I am not sure? The reactionaries I refer to, include Fergus Ewing, a left over from the days when the SNP were referred to a tartan tories, an apt and accurate description of them.
A horrible individual, particularly given his interview on Radio Scotland today. Referred to the Greens as extremists, which they are not! This is not only an inaccurate statement, but a shameful one! Whatever your opinion of the them, they are not extremists, they are democrats! Their policies, and indeed their party structures demonstrate this clearly. His comment says more about him, than the Greens.
It would be a horrendous mistake for the SNP to now give sway to reactionaries and bigots like Ewing and Forbes. They would be out on their arse, before the door could hit it!!
Fergus Ewing an apologist for large estate owners. Kate Forbes whose religious principles do not allow her to support abortion or trans people.
He was more of a leader tgan Rishi
Both of them absolutely useless.
How do you work that one out.
Imagine Sunak resigning under similar consequences.
I hope Rishi Rats resigns soon!
😂. Love the bread report.
Exceptional broadcast
Living in Ireland I am fully aware of how treacherous and hypocritical the Green Party can be !!!!
Yep
Imagine being a real Green in Germany.....
it was the snp that ended the BHA by cutting back on policies they agreed to meet.
The Ireland Green Party is completely separate and unrelated to any of green parties in the UK. It's a party in a different, independent and sovereign country to the UK. They have different policies, leadership, members etc. It makes no sense to compare them.
Indeed, look at the German Greens.
Belle Donati, sangita Myska, Mehdi Hasan 🤔
First they came for the reporters, to silence inquiry and dictate the narrative
Go Jamie. I met him when I was briefly a member of the Labour Party (JC years obviously). He really is brilliant and I’ve already voted for him.
“There are worse things than being caught masticating on air” 😂😂😂
Wonderful show from wonderful hosts, Michael and Ash! I'm from Scotland, nice to see good old Bonnie making it into the news! Humza Yousaf demonstrates how stupid politicians are; break up a coalition agreement but expect them to still work with you! Nothing wrong with masticating live on the show, Micheal, don't have a problem with that. Could be a regular slot "Masticate With Michael"!
Don't forget that a lot of Ukrainians have moved to Ireland because of Boris Johnson.
Of course the right-wingers will be happy and easier for people in England to criticise them but from free university tuition to free prescriptions, a fairer tax system than England and Wales, cutting poverty and more ambitious green targets Scotland's government have brought in changes, the SNP have done more that just talk about independence. The Scottish parliament has a more proportional system than Westminster making it harder to get a majority for one party, SNP are one short of that and Humza decided to pull out of a agreement with the Scottish Green Party before they had a vote on it, then faced a vote of no confidence. But if a new leader has the same just under majority support how will they no face the same issue? The other parties are all well short of a majority for their leader to be first minister too.
The Scottish Parliament was DESIGNED to not be in the charge of one party. It was always meant to be ruled by cooperation. The fact that the SNP had been in control for so
many years is an indication of the strength of SNP support across Scotland.
Jamie Driscoll has me the most inspired in politics since Corbyn, and that’s saying something.
Vote Jamie Driscol Independent candidate for Major of the North East....
@@wendymitchell587I voted for him yesterday. Go Jamie!
One point that was not clarified: the Tory VONC was going to be in Yousaf personally - and would have been non-binding, so even if it passed, there would be no legal obligation on Yousaf to resign, although politically he might have felt he had to. The Labour VONC is in the Scottish Government as a whole, and if that passed, the whole government would have to resign, and if no new government won a VOC within 28 days, an election would follow (and this would be an extra election, there would still be another in 2026). Presumably that vote will still happen, and if Swinney is chosen as the new SNP leader, the VONC almost certainly fail. If they choose Forbes, it could well succeed as not only the Greens, but the more progressive SNP MSPs, would find it very difficult to work with her.
I've sent in my postal vote and I've voted for Jamie, as I did in 2019. I've voted Independent for Poluce & Crime Commissioner and Green for local councillors... previously I've always voted Labour but since Starmer ... scandalous stand on Palestine... reneging on every promise... after 40 years, Labour can go fiddle!
Perfect bread analysis and innuendo. 10/10, no notes.
Humza seems a decent human being.
He isnt he did a white hate speech and hes one of the reasons the new dumb hate law crime happened
He is!
He is really Muslim first before anything else.
Ted Bundy seemed decent too. Till he flipped and took the opportunity not to be. Such a meaningless statement in these crazy times.
This is my punishment for being smug about not having to vote labour. Voting in a snp/con swing seat is really gonna be something if that heidbanger Forbes becomes FM.
really enjoyed this episode! actually made me up the monthly donation! keep it up guys 👌🏽
Holy shit, please keep the bread stuff in. Do not edit that out under any circumstances. I think I just pissed myself laughing, I was *not* expecting Michael's comment on mastication.
If it's removed, we riot.
Ash’s description of Tiger Batons and Michael’s response had me laughing aloud.
The SNP is not right wing and never will be. I’m really sad Humza has decided to stand down.
Tartan tories 😂
Hes a bad guy he had to go hes chickening out after we showed him what we think of racists
Me too. He singlehandedly pushed the SNP back a decade
Me also .
I am so happy that Humza has gone and the Greens too!
Can we have more food and bread talk pls from Ash pls she describes food so well 😭
The Conquest of Bread, but the slightly less famous Michael Walker version of it.
Disappointed that again you guys haven’t reported on the plan for Personal Independence Payments to be reformed/slashed.
Ash nailed it. 😅
Is it due to his family connection to Palestine.
No it was throwing the greens under the bus.
This man is real and honest..he should be our leader
journalism is the only profession where you get fired for doing your job
He has admitted that he made the wrong move ending the Bute House Agreement, that his pre emptive move was mistaken, and that he under estimated the impact of that.
He was clearly out of his depth and was no way competent to lead Scotland as First Minister.
The greens being idiotic and vindictive.
Of course if the Scottish Greens had continued to support Humza Yousaf after he kicked them in the teeth, they'd have been sneered at as SNP stooges.
@@user-hs4ti2dg6l they didn't need to support him fully. But declaring they would support the tory "no confidence" motion was really silly - he was certainly the most prigressive possible first minister.
They actually could have had more leverage in a confidence and supply arrangement.
Scottish plain bread, Michael. It doesn't stick to your mouth like chewing gum.
Every time Sunak opens his mouth to speak, I'm haunted by him. It's the horror of Johnson all over again.
Bread tube, literally
Stiff and Sticky?
The bread scene was hilarious!
Michael's bread is the real star of the show!!!
The best part of this episode by far was Michael eating bread 😂😂😂
"I'm going to swallow now ..."

"I have now swallowed ..."
Greatest media moment ever ....
Strange rounding up Asylum seekers this week, not like they can vote lol
It’s so racist and backwards. Trumps wall. What if a doctor or engineer or scientist arrive? Such stupidity.
Hi Ash and michael nice 2 c u back..
Avi Hyman shakes his head before the question/statement has even been asked/made by Sangita. It is clear he is preparing to to deny whatever she says without knowing what she is about to say.
Love the bread
Great bread chat. I have a question- I bought a seeded sourdough bloomer from Lidl yesterday. I'm never sure how to cut it to maxiumise the surface area to put stuff on it. I tried a diagonal cut. Is this the best way to do it?
BreadGate, we won't see Michael in the next show, we need to start a petition :))).
Stop Rwanda deportations
Are you mad?
Thats insane
Get Yousaf on the first plane to Rwanda.
No get them all out
People agreeing with the Rwanda bill should be deported first, see how they like it before approving such vile legislation.
Well, Novara Media did always like to talk about bread-and-butter issues. 😂

Quality. :)
Very good bread chat
Swinney was a hopeless leader last time he was leader of SNP. I see no reason why he would be any better this time.
Ross Greer sporting the lobster chic look. I respect it.
Oh no-Sangita hurt avi hymans feelings!
My monthly donation is what paid for the bread and that’s my truth
The Rainbow flag wavers are devastated! Hahahahahahahahaha
Laura Webster, great guest ❤
These issues absolutely need to be brought to the public in the House of Commons

Bring back Nicholas Sturgeon
It wasnt an Embassy.
Big ups Ross Greer and here's hoping the Scottish Greens can return to government alongside the othe Pro Independence parties.
Love the bread discussion!
PS : as for the difficulties you experienced in munching your way through a Sainsbury baguette did you check if it was made with crickets / cockroach les mixed n the flour ??? Check next time you use a toothpick or dental floss !
58:30 The question of sovereign territory aside. What Sangita pushed back on was the ludicrous claim that Israel only wants peace and didn't ask for this war. Obvious lie given the circumstances.

Dude was stressed right out. He knew he needed a break, people saw it too. If he took a vaca after the big bill, that would have better. So he’s taking a vaca and now I want one.
The Greens will make progress in this power vaccum (across the UK).
Chewing properly there setting a good digestive example. 👍 quality journalism 😂
Just to qualify my last comment. It is my opinion that Britain is using a loophole to subvert the fact it is no longer part of the Dublin Agreement, whether you agree with that or not. It is unconscionable.
Please add a chapter in called ‘How long does it take to chew a piece of Sainsbury’s tiger baton?’ 🙏🏻
I saw Insane Cat Manoeuvre at the Bierkeller in 1984. Perfect Oyster Shape were supporting. I actually have their single "Becoming More Swallowable" on flexidisc.
