From Haiti you did not need a visa but now you do because too many Haitians migrated to Chile. The "Haiti" coffee shop is owned by a Chinese person. Be careful if you are Black, in many countries in South America there is extreme racism, especially in Chile, as well as Uruguay and Argentina. I'm not saying you won't come across good people, but the norm is not like that, you have to be careful. You have to be extremely careful, because in Latin America and especially in South America, there is more racism against black people than in the United States. South America is possibly the most hostile place against black people in the world, together with Asian countries like Japan or South Korea.

Ace was treated well because he was going as a tourist, and he also happened to come across good people, but that is not the norm. Latin America in general, especially South America, and even more so Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, are extremely racist countries, at least against black people. I'm not saying you shouldn't go to those places, but you have to be careful. I'm not exaggerating when I say that even your life could be in danger just for being black and going to one of those places.

English lessons, although very basic in most schools, are part of the national curriculum in Chile. Younger folks also tend to know more English cause of youtube and social media.
In fact our people speak too bad, given the amount of money and resources the government has deployed for years, and considering that english is super easy.

You should have a wonderful time in Chile. I spent a month in Chile last year. There is a variety of different ethnic food there with the influx of various people from surrounding countries near Chile. I would suggest taking a low cost walking tour that takes you over the popular parts of the city. They meet at one of the local Art museums.
Chile is ❤, been going there for years. The people are friendly and very helpful. Checkout the reggaeton spot LigaURBANA, the reggae spots like ROOTS and jammin you will find tourist. Watch out for that pisco, it’ll creep up on you. There’s a spot that starts with an A, I think ámbar should be good content. Of course the centros and stuff and food.
In Parque Araucano this centro parque at night there are many bars and a very good discotheque. The party is held on Fridays and Saturdays on the 4th floor. It is big. You will have fun and it is very safe, unlike other places very recomended

Chile has every weather possible btw 🙏 it is longer than sny country so we have from ice in the antarctica to the most dry dessert up north. Santiago in the middle is equilibrated with well defined seasons
Also, chile doesn’t have tropical climate (at least if we don’t count Easter Island) we have desert, Mediterranean, andean, oceanic and tundra climates

Chilean here, bellavista is good actually, people that say thats bad, just havent been there. There are good clubs, but something thats true is that u have to be aware, try not to walk at 3-5 am alone. Apart from that, u will be fine. I recommend Subterraneo as a night club, Manuel Montt - Los Leones Station have good clubs also, a lot of bars of Providencia are there. Welcome to SCL!

The thing I loved about Chile is that like 90% of people know basic english, you don't see that in every country.

Chilean here, bellavista is good actually, people that say thats bad, just havent been there. There are good clubs, but something thats true is that u have to be aware, try not to walk at 3-5 am alone. Apart from that, u will be fine. I recommend Subterraneo as a night club, Manuel Montt - Los Leones Station have good clubs also, a lot of bars of Providencia are there. Welcome to SCL!
